  1. Jacksonville taking Bortles. That's good for the Bears.
  2. Dude. It's the NFL draft. Quit your job.
  3. If we could a 3rd to move down 4 spots. That would be awfully damn tempting.
  4. You are vastly underestimating the value of late round picks. Think about how we took Jordan Mills in the 5th round and he started every game at RT. Marquis Wilson is poised to be the #3 WR as a 7th round pick.
  5. I am indifferent either way. I just drafted the Pats a QB.
  6. The New England Patriots select Tom Savage, QB Pittsburgh
  7. I agree. But at the same time, all four could be available and we might pass for somebody different.
  8. Good point. It's not like there is money riding on it. I'm having fun with this, but what of are the odds that any of us actually make a correct pick after the first round?
  9. Going to sleep soon. So for the sake of speeding things up . . . with the 75th pick in the 2014 NFL draft, the St. Louis Rams select Austin Seferian-Jenkins. TE from the University of Washington. Unless Adam takes Seferian Jenkins at #74. If that's the case then with the 75th pick in the 2014 NFL draft, the St. Louis Rams select Terrance Brooks, safety from Florida State. So choice #1 is Seferian-Jenkins. Choice #2 is Brooks. The New York Giants are still on the clock.
  10. With the 73 pick in the 2014 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select Marcus Roberson, CB from the University of Florida. Cornerback is a need for the Bills. After taking a OT and a WR, it's time to beef up the defense. The NY Giants (Adam) is on the clock.

    WTF moment

Palmer looked WAY better than McCown during last years pre-seasons. But then again, McCown looked pretty bad. Apparently, that's how he looks when he's not passing to BM, AJ, and the Black Unicorn. Good luck Lovie. I just don't get the need or want for a developmental prospect. I remember of plenty developmental prospects drafted by the Bears who sucked and are now out of the league. Kyle Orton was ok, but I sure as hell don't want to spend a 4th round pick on a QB.

The problem with this line of thinking is at what point will the guy we draft in the 6th round be ready to play? Essentially, we would have to keep him on the roster as a #3 QB and wait for him to develop. We are committed to Jay Cuter being the starting QB for at least the next 3 seasons. So what's the point? Or you can get a professional QB for the minimum. Dude who's been in the league and knows the ins and outs. A guy you know is capable that you can plug in as your #2 QB and not have to worry about a #3. Heck, Rex Grossman is still a free agent. Why wouldn't you get a guy like him over a 6th round 22 year old?
  13. Adams up at #69 with Tampa Bay. Adam will have a difficult time projecting which really bad defensive player Lovie will draft. What linebacker will Lovie take that will be out of the league in 2 seasons??? I'll be checking in regularly as I wait to pick for Buffalo at #73 then followed by the Rams at #75.
  14. With the 66th pick in the 2014 NFL draft, the Washington football team selects, Gabe Jackson, OG Mississippip State. This is a value pick here. Several rankings and mocks have Jackson going as high as the 1st round. While Washington has a desperate need in their secondary, this is the best player available and an immediate plug and play guy. Not to mention Washington needs better protection for RGIII. Washington has only had two picks but they have drafted two likely starters. The other being LB Chris Borland. Sorry I was slow checking back in picking. We have 34 more picks to make by Thursday . . . Oakland (Jason) is on the clock at #67
  15. With the 62 pick in the 2014 NFL draft, the New England Patriots select Troy Niklas, TE from the University of Notre Dame. With Gronk always injured and Hernandez detained, TE is a huge need for the Patriots who like to run two TE sets. This came down to Niklas or Seferian-Jenkins. Seferian-Jenkins is more experienced, but Niklas is the better athlete. I've seen Niklas go anywhere from late first round to all the way to the 4th. One magazine said, "If there is a Gronk in the group (TE), Niklas could be the guy. He's the biggest and one of themost athletic of this year's TE group." Denver (Stinger) is on the clock at number 63.
  16. With the 57th pick, in the 2014 NFL draft, the San Diego Chargers select Davante Adams. WR Fresno State. After cornerback, DT is by far the greatest need for the Chargers. Like the Bears, they sucked against the run. But the way defensive tackles have been dropping, I'm going to take the playmaker here in hopes that there will be a good DT tackle available in the 3rd round. New Orleans (SCS) is on the clock.
  17. Yep. What's weird is that I've seen mock that have the Bears taking Hageman at #14. I think this speaks to how few teams need or want defensive tackles. As for Deone Bucannon, what was Kyle Long ranked? 50th or something like that? As for the pick, the Bears need 5 capable NFL defensive tackles. We currently have 3. Hageman was way ahead of the next guy and a need. Good pick.
  18. Yeah, it's interesting and it's why I'm enjoying this process. Personallly with Buffalo and St. Louis, I might have slightly reached on offensive lineman (Taylor Lewan & Zach Martin) because it was their greatest need. By the time I got to round #2, there were some pretty damn good offensive linemen available. I had some buyers remorse. For example, with Buffalo I'd have taken a playmaker like Eric Ebron and #9 then came back with the OT Cyrus in round #2. Alas, but hindsight is 20-20. What's is really opened my eyes up about is there is quite a few damn good defensive tackles and very few teams with that as a great need. Listening the SCORE, guys like Dan Pompei, Hub Arkush, and Lawrence Holmes keep saying the Bears are going to take a safety. I'm starting to think they are right. I wouldn't have said that 2 years ago.
  19. Not to mention, Jared Allen, The Black Unicorn, BM, Jay Cutler & Mrs. Cutler . . . 2nd largest football market in America. That has to be pretty damn compelling. I know the team never wants it, the coaches don't want it . . . the Jets made it to the AFC finals after being on the show. The Bengals unexpectedly made the playoffs. The Cowboys underachieved . . .
  20. With the 44th pick in the 2014 NFL draft, the St. Louis Rams select Sammy Watkins. WR from Clemson. St. Louis really likes his play-making ability so much, they might have taken him with the #2 overall pick had Clowney not been available. So instead they take him at #44 . . . Kidding aside (since I already screwed up once today) With the 44th pick in the 2014 NFL draft, the St. Louis Rams select Donte Moncrief. WR from the University of Mississippi. Rams need tons of offensive hel and Moncrief's size and speed are too good to pass up. The Rams could still use a playmaker at TE and they could still use secondary help, but so far they have upgraded the o-line, added a big play-making WR, and the best defensive player in the draft. So far, so good. Detroit (SCS) is on the clock at #45 . . .
  21. Oops!!! Re-do. "With the 41st pick in the 2014 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select Jordan Mathews, WR from Vanderbilt." Dude is built like Alshon Jeffery and broke his SEC records. The Tennessee Titans (Jason) are on the clock.
  22. With the 41st pick in the 2014 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select Odell Beckham, WR LSU. Tennesse (Jason) is on the clock. With this pick I felt like a playmaker was the greatest need for Buffalo. There were 3-4 WR's I felt could easily go in this spot.
  23. Yeah, it's too early to tell. From what I read of the story, the guy says Morgan sucker punched him for no reason. And Morgan says absolutely nothing happened. Why do I feel like the truth is somewhere in the middle? Morgan was probably provoked and punched the dude. Not that it excuses Morgan's bad behavior. As far as I can tell it's his first time offense and he might miss one game. Something happens again, you cut him, no questions asked. At least he didn't get stabbed by his wife or try to become a drug king-pin . . .
  24. My guess is a little bit of both. Although while we repeatedly rolled out Shea to get burnt at DE, Lovie made the same mistake with Mark Anderson. And with Mark Anderson, Alex Brown was sitting on the bench. WTF???
