I don’t know that 10 wins is his ceiling but the way I made peace with the whole thing is his value is based on his dynamic play making in the run game and that makes him WAY more susceptible to injury. His ability to check down quickly enough for an NFL QB has also got to be questioned after this many years. Coaching? Maybe. Lastly, our new OC had to have chimed in on this and we’ve got to give him the benefit of the doubt for now. All this said, I still feel Fields wasn’t given a fair shake, one that he would have gotten elsewhere in the league if we didn’t draft him.

With only a few days until the draft are you getting excited or do you have anxiety? All the conjecture and BS stops on draft night. Are the anti-Williams folks resigned to the choice or still hoping for a last minute surprise? Is your focus more on the second pick at this point? I’m hoping for an Offensive Tackle myself More importantly, how are you feeling about the season? Things should be much improved but we’ll have a rookie QB. There are obvious exceptions but usually that’s a tough first year. Lastly, are there any FA’s left that you’d add depending on what happens in the draft?

Cool. I didn’t know that. But simulations are far different than what happens when humans get involved.

Now moving up for Alt might be a different story. I might do that but only next year’s second, not first. We’re only moving up 4 spots.

I would have traded back and picked MHJ but not the other way around. And gotten all the extra picks, etc. Fields is gone and that ship has sailed. Take a blue chipper at 9 and be done with it.

I love the OL help, conceptually. Don’t want to drop back if one of the top guys are available at 9 though.

Maybe a new branch on this thread but I still want to grab a blue chip OT with 9.

Pix, thanks. I absolutely hated this when I first heard about it but have come around. It’s putting the return game back in play but with hopefully fewer injuries and penalties. Kickoffs have been boring as hell for too long.

Preseason sucks and the HOF game is the worst one. But if the Bears are playing, I’m watching. LOL

DBDB - I’ll admit it was all hearsay and things some said here. I hope I’m 100% wrong (and so was all the stuff I heard) since it really looks like he’s a Bear in April.
