AJ Brown is the perfect prototypical big man receiver. Nothing but hands on that TD catch. Bears let the Eagles stay in the game yet lead by 1. Time to get some good plays in and hope we don’t have to pass a lot in the 4th….against the wind.

Wanna think the wind is playing into this a bit. But…not sure why they didn’t stick with the run more on that last drive. Has been working most of the game AND if the wind is a factor so…

Announcer said Caleb was heading left when he threw that. Replay clearly shows him looking right and then slipping just before throwing the ball. Funny stuff.

Yeah I saw that . And Johnson looking a little sluggish. Both have some significant catching up to do .

Haven’t paid attention yet but are they playing the chirper and Gordon at the same time? I saw JJ and Wright were starting at CB. if they play nickel and blitz I could see CJ doing that instead of Gordon while he gets his legs under him.

Good ball control short gain offensive plays. Classic WCO working great so far. Heard there was a close ratio on run/pass. Good way to play a team like this.

Yep, 17 games is a long season. Dallas may be surging at just the right time. Of course they also have a tendency to fold in the playoffs.

2nd and 3rd string LBs. I saw J Johnson out on coverage and I think Gordon was out there too. So far defense holding its own . my personal conern is playing against a Vic Fangio D.

Just as a side note, it was brought to me attention that in a matter of four days the Cowboys beat both the teams who played in last year’s Super Bowl. And as a result KC is out of playoff contention. Yes that same Dallas team Chicago beat convincingly some weeks ago .

Jackson was the unsung hero during the last game with the most tackles (15). He led both teams in that category with Obengingimiba (sp?) as a close second at 14. With Sweats 2 sacks in the last game and ‘old-man’ Byard playing at an all-pro clip, having some help in the defensive backfield will be good. Im still a fan of Sewell and looking forward to see how Hyppolite figures into the equation when the time comes.

Turns out the “Chirper” isn’t such a bad guy after all. This and his infamous run-in with Jalen Ramsey this last weekend (on behalf of Caleb) has proven he may be someone the Bears need to keep around.

1-1 against teams with a winning record. Even if this one ends up knocking them back to 1-2 it’s not the end of the world. Being in Philly won’t be easy. As long as we see some sort of progress offensively amd don’t lose on a grand scale.

IMHO I think right now Detroit, LAR and maybe Philly are all better in the NFC. I’d even throw in SF because of Shannahan and that both Purdy and Kittle are back.

Yeah between that and the heavy focus on the run after the bye, I personally saw times where Johnson would make the adjustments necessary to score. The first couple of weeks of the season were rough . He tried to gameplan ( I think) more for the passing game. But for whatever reason Caleb wasn’t quite getting it or he (Johnson) was getting impatient. I think thar was partially why we didn’t see a lot of the optimal use of the 12 man scheme. Especially with the top two TEs and moreso this years’ #1 pick. If executed correctly the zone run offense will work every time. He had what he needed in Swift and Monangai and turns out good enough players on the oline to make it work. We saw a few times as the season progressed where the offense (specially Caleb) struggles in the RZ. Sure he looks great between the 20s but for whatever reason, with the need to think quicker he locked up a little. There was one game in particular (think maybe the Giants) where Ben called at least on trick play in the red zone that ended up with Caleb catching a TD from Moore that shook things up. This added another element that opposing defenses had to account for. Call it a little of the Campbell moxie if you will. Johnson comes by way of the Parcell’s coaching tree . Having started out with the 2012 Dolphins as an assistant. Since then he’s added some of Bill Walsh’s West Coast Offense and a hint of the spread offense. With the WCO you don’t have to have a superstar QB run it, just one that can play within the system. I think Ben will work to fix the inconsistencies and tics t and hopefully have a more finished product in the coming years.

Dallas had two golden opportunities late in the game with a defensive turnover followed up shortly with a special teams TO near 10 yard line. Both times Dallas was unable to convert. Think that says more about Dallas offense (not so good) as it does the Eagles’ D. Vic Fangio is still their D - coordinator so you know he’ll exploit whatever weakness there is on the Bears offense. I agree I don’t see a win but not a blow out by any means. 🤞
