Found another “big-school” comp to Kmet that used to play for the Bears. Michigan State TE Kellen Davis. Davis was 6’7” 265# to Kmets 6’6” 262#. Davis played through to his senior year where he compiled 513 yards and 6 TDs that year. Kmet played to his Jr year (really the only year he did anything) and complied 515 yards and 6 TDs.

Totally. Kind of disappointing really. Granted they need offensive help and with Burton leaving TE became more a position of need. Not sure why but I feel all they did was get another version Shaheen or even JP Holtz. Big body TE... how many TEs on the roster now?

Delpit, Higgins, Hurts or remaining top Oline candidate.

The more I read on the top two (in my book) Safety prospects remaining (McKinney and Delpit), I’m hoping for Delpit. Saw a breakdown on McKinney where they make a comparison to he and Clinton-Dix. Meaning he’s more a pass coverage Safety...not what the Bears need. Delpit’s draft card description includes phrases like: Physical demeanor will help a run defense Gets downhill into the fit before blocks get acclimated Willing to sell out his body to make a stop Rushes into backfield to set edges when needed Runs the alley on jet sweeps, stretch plays and receiver screens Coverage was more consistent on 2018 tape when healthy Offers physical detour for tight ends when pressing Covers with solid anticipation Heavy hitting is accounted for by receivers trespassing in the middle All traits needed for an ‘in the box Safety’ (and frankly i love). I’d say Delpit is 1a and Chinn might be 1b based on type and size of Safety needed.

Gotta say Adam, I’m a huge fan of this. Not as sure about Chinn as others although he’s listed (or at least played) a LB in some draft boards right? So that fits the model of a true SS. What I like is Hurts (a good developmental QB prospect), Chinn (or another top rated Safety) and really geeked about Moss. I’m hoping in real life that the Bears are able to get him. Something tells me he’s going to be a steal for a 4th or lower pick.

Be careful what you ask for. All these rounds, positions and swapping will make Pace accidentally trade next year’s number one for a “can’t miss” D2 Fullback that played TE in HS.

Looking at commentary by GB fans it sounds eerily similar to when Trubiksy was drafted. “We traded up to get ... him?” Is the common theme. He even wears #10.

Deshone Kizer (who was drafted in the second round by Cleveland in 2017) was traded to GB the next year. If you recall his first time playing for GB was the same game Mack made his debut for Chicago. Kizers play was so poor that Rodgers miraculously returned from what I was hoping was a game ending injury ... to beat the Bears. Kizer is currently on the Raiders roster I believe as the #3.

Yes the knock on him is his inability to read defenses. But that is also why he was projected early on as a third round prospect. The one thing he is not; careless. According to the below article, while Hurts played in the OU offense last year he was 77% accurate on passes in the 11-15 yard range and ended up with a 192 QBR. (7th best in FBS history). In another article, OU HV Coach Riley was credited with “opening up the field for him”. He added; “Fundamentally, I’ve had to very little for him.” Many would say he’s a perfect fit for the RPO / WCO style offense that Nagy runs. As far as leadership I’d say look no further than all four years he played he went to the FBS playoffs. One of those he came in as a backup to win after Tua went down with an injury. Many “experts” admit to him needing time to develop and not be forced into playing right away. This will come as a shock to you but I agree with Perez on this. In my mind he’s better than Trubisky is or will be. I see a mix of Prescott and Watson and several of us liked both coming out of college...yet neither plays for the Bears. This would be a safe save for Paces career (IMHO). With his stock starting to rise right now the Bears would be wise to get him in the second...if they can.

Part of the Bucs need is at OT. Maybe they could be convinced Leno AND a low round draft pick would sweeten the deal? I know a certain guy from NY that would approve. *update*: Jason LaCanfora said that the Patriots are hot to trot to get Howard. And apparently the Redskins were right on the verge of getting Howard with a trade that involved Trent Williams before Gronk went to Tampa. They are still considered as interested. We can’t compete with that firepower. Williams from the Redskins or multiple draft picks to choose from with the Pats... oy vey.

SS is the first position of need. Disagree that because Graham is on the list TE isn’t higher on the list. Unless they find a another younger TE through FA or trade (like OJ Howard) they still need a talented player to develop. We might be lucky to get one or two years (tops) out of Graham. The way this offense needs to run (especially if Trubisky is expected to run it) with more intermediate level receivers, you practically need to double your talent in the mid-range. TEs and big WRs fit that niche. And as much as it pains me to admit (this is where Jason magically reappears) Tackle is high in the list (shout out to NYC). I know Pace feels he’s set with Massie and Leno but he’s wrong.

When I originally thought of trading Trubisky it was more with Jacksonville. Was thinking of a straight up trade with them for Fournette. Thing is it appears Jacksonville is turning into an all out dumpster fire. So who knows what could be gotten from them?
