  1. Do you have a list of unknown D2 school players I could look at? Knowing Pace that’s where a majority of my five would come from.
  2. This...absolutely no value to anyone.
  3. Again...hmmm. Was going to pose this (or a similar question) but passed for fear of flaming... lol Wonder if the Bears looking for a QB isn’t on their radar (or should be) for this year? Like a Jalen Hurts... or Fromm... ???
  4. And what’s more, in relation to OJ Howard he’s been on the trading block for a “few weeks” and initially it sounds as though TB had hoped to get at least a second round pick “straight-up”. Now they might settle for some lesser picks. Howard’s due to get a measly $1.8 million this year. Again...hmmm.
  5. Yeah just saw this too. Explains more why OJ Howard would be available. Hmmm.. ? https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/rob-gronkowski-reportedly-reuniting-with-tom-brady-after-patriots-and-buccaneers-pull-off-shocking-trade/
  6. And I wonder if the Bears had managed to pull off a trade with Tennessee for Mariota (straight up) what might have been for either of them? Now we’ll see how Mariota does if he gets a chance to play. That being said, when I read your comment the first thing that came to mind was ‘what if the Bears were to make a straight up trade with Cleveland for Baker Mayfield’? I’m not sure why I thought it other than to think both QBs need a new start (Cleveland is and will remain a hot mess) and despite my not liking him, Mayfield I feel has a lot more upside to him than Mitch.
  7. At first I was a bit skeptical of this idea. With recent developments I’m beginning to rethink this. This article speaks on some valid points and besides OJ Howard suggests current Brown TE David Njokwu. With the Bucs needing an OT the Browns reason for ridding of a potential high ceiling tight end like Njokwu? Their signing of Austin Hooper to a load of money. https://dawindycity.com/2020/04/17/chicago-bears-rumors-trey-burton-release-big-move/ One other ironic tidbit of interesting trivia . ESPN Sports Science did a piece on Njoku when he came out of college. Their NFL comparison at the time? Jimmy Graham.
  8. But...you up your chances at winning hour bet. ?
  9. If that’s true (bolded) then yes it makes sense. But simply letting him go wouldn’t have been prudent. As far as Howard and his being on his third team in three years; is it better to be on your third team in four years like Graham? Who appears to now be our starting TE. The rest of the releases you talk about make sense and I agree with, which is the majority of your original list. Maybe Pace is getting better with time? Still don’t know...
  10. In this particular instance I’d agree but the devil’s advocate in me suggests the Howard and Amos releases were not as beneficial. As we stand two seasons removed from his leaving, we’re still looking for a replacement to Amos. And the argument can be made that Howard wasn’t a ‘fit to Nagy’s offense’ but have we actually identified what that offense is? One that supports 40 passes to 10 runs? Sure Howard doesn’t fit that type of offense. Hell Trubisky may not even fit the offense, yet here he is. I think a ‘Howard like’ player is still needed to work the interior running.
  11. Looks like you’re right. Found this PFF scouting report on him. Says he’s ‘strong as an ox’ and good if anchored to the ground. Not so good in movement and has a tendency to over-extend. If the team goes primarily to a run game maybe he’s good at the outside position(?) But I’m with you, probably better on the interior. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2632418-jason-spriggs-nfl-draft-2016-scouting-report-grade-for-packers-rookie
  12. Im not one who necessarily thinks CB is a need. I agree that Tolliver can rise to the occasion. But when you said Joseph I had to ask myself; ‘who the hell is that guy’? Turns out he’s been a practice roster guy the Bears picked up after he went undrafted out of the University of Dubuque. (Sounds to me like another attempt by Pace to get cute). Anyhow the only way he made the active roster last year was after 9 other players had been put on IR. So I’m not sure he’s the solution for depth...unless you’re talking 3rd string on down. Probably why they signed players like Roberson and Burns. Yes it’s possible we have our two backups on the roster for ILB. But I’m not as sure as you are. And to allay Mongos concerns, I wasn’t suggesting a high draft pick to fill that void. Maybe a later round maybe a pickup up post draft. Early round picks will be for some Offensive help and SS.
  13. Now that’s funny. I don’t care who you are. ?
  14. Besides the stuff I brought up for Stinger; one other thing that should be taken into consideration is that both your inside starters were lost during periods of last years’ season . Not only do you need depth, you potentially are looking at starting depth.
  15. Bond is listed as an OLB. Since 2017 he’s had 39 tackles, 3 of those coming last year. To be fair, KPL is also listed as an OLB but he’s had two seasons where he’s had at least 37 tackles; last year and in 2017 when he played for KC. So maybe Pagano can conjure up some magic in a guy who so far has underperformed? Maybe. And Iggy and Woods are leftover from when Fangio was king and neither has done much, even then. Doubtful we’ll see much more. I will thank you for forcing me look up some of this as I had forgotten the Bears signed Mingo (also an OLB) who although himself an under-performer, is at least a first round pick variety. I know that sounds snarky but it’s not, I actually have hope for his playing better. He’s at least averaged a few seasons of 45 (or so) tackles. That’s depth worthy.
  16. Well as the article indicates, Arians has no need for TEs in his offense. And besides they still have Brate. In looking at a few of their ‘Talk’ pages the Bucs are in need of a Tackle. Their first hope is to move up in the draft. Their pawn? OJ Howard.
  17. Unfortunately now that Graham is on the roster TE isn’t as much a need. Not at the risk of surrendering a draft pick for. If you were to ask me whether Howard would be a better option right now versus Graham AND Burton right now, I would say ‘yes’. I’m surprised that Brady doesn’t insist he stay.
  18. Still think the ILB needs some depth. Losing KPL and Kwitkowski is going to be noticeable this next season.
  19. Yes...(unless you’re being sarcastic). This is a great deal for our team. He’s the definition of a needed utility / special team player. He also did well in spot duty at CB. I love McManis on the team.
  20. Color me interested. Been keeping tabs on Higgins as he’s one of those big body receivers I think Chicago needs. Sounds like he did well at Clemson even tying both Sammy Watkins and Deondre Hopkins with his number of total TDs. But a knock on him that I saw in one article was his limited route tree (although he can play any receiver spot). And that he lacks “unimaginative” separation techniques. The article below explains some of this a bit more to include his ‘lack of physicality’ . They predict he’ll fall more likely to the second round due to a few other higher tier WRs ahead of him and that most teams value Olinemen over WRs. If he shows up where the Bears pick in the 2nd it sure would be hard to pass up. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/nfl-draft-2020-buyer-beware-on-jordan-love-tee-higgins-and-these-other-top-prospects/
  21. Oooohhhh.... Terrell Lewis would be a great add!!! Dudes a monster! Got hurt in ‘18 but came back with a vengeance last year. Also like Fulton. Had a great championship game. And is notorious in that he’s a legit shutdown corner. QBs avoided throwing his way most times.
  22. Ah yes I’ve heard of him. Comes from Wentz’ alma mater. Looks good on paper, did well at the combine (1st overall for DLmen on the three cone drill). Highlight films look good too. Might be another nice sleeper add where you have him.
  23. I like some of it; Winfield (I think), Wonogho and Moss. Moss being my personal ‘sleeper favorite’. Not sure why he’s being projected so low in mock drafts as he seems to possess some of his dads talent. What is a ‘DI’? Other than drill instructor?
  24. Look at us agreeing again! Agree the first or second pick the Bears need will be at Safety. And not just any safety will do; we need to see a true ‘in the box’ short field cover safety. I’m partial to SEC / prominent school safeties especially from Alabama. I think we all agree that McKinney won’t be available any longer when then Bears go to pick. I’m thinking Delpit might. He’s got the pedigree we’re needing although he has a tendency to be a deep cover safety but has shown some nice short field ability. One other top-5 prospect is Davis from Cal. He seems to do well ‘in the box’ but comes from the PAC-12 where they have a lot of passing. So again he’s more a cover guy (IMHO). I submit two other names for consideration perhaps in the later rounds; Shyheim Carter from Bama and Tanner Muse from Clemson. Carter played second fiddle with McKinney and watching film on him makes me think he’s more what we need to compliment Jackson. He’s also been called the ‘jack of all trades’ in the defensive backfield for Bama due to his being able to play any position to include NB. Although Muse is listed as a safety he measures at 6’2” 227# and runs about a 4.40 / 40. Some think he could convert to LB (ala Urlacher) and might be a good late round pickup in that role. And ‘just because’ he’s from Georgia (due to our getting a lot of players from there recently and Roquan says good things about him) Safety JR Reed. Bottom line the Safety talent this year is deep and the Bears could be in a decent position to get a pretty good one.
