  1. Pretty good perspective. Have to say I agree, especially about Jay. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/post...in-over-chicago
  2. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/...r-andy-levitre/ Traded from Tennessee to Atlanta. Where he'll be in a "zone blocking" scheme. Hmmm...where have I heard that phrase before? Oh well....
  3. Just read up on him and it sounds like from May - Sept 2014 he had his 2nd and 3rd knee surgery. I see Henry Melton similarities in this one. Lots of potential but derailed by a knee injury. And Henry only had the one surgery that I recall. ---Pass----
  4. The same Khaseem Greene that was previously of the Bears? Uhm... No. I think the team needs to look for a serviceable Guard or Tackle., depending on what they decide to do with Long. And after that maybe a WR.
  5. He's referring to the game the previous week that the Pats played against Baltimore. In that game the Pats won by a slimmer margin. And assuming Brady cheated in that game like he did with the Colts the following week, that may have made enough a difference for the Pats to win. Had it not, the Colts and Ravens would've her playing in the AFC Championship.
  6. Did they play that new QB at all? Weird seeing you guys mention a bunch of names I've hardly heard until tonight. Based on that alone it would sound like these were our starters. Haha.... Who played QB for Cle? McCown or Johnny Money?
  7. On the one hand I'm glad its over...or should be soon. On the other, I can't help think that Brady 'got away with it' or will. Unfortunately, as Cracker alluded to, Goodell has managed to flounder through his tenure as Commish and this ruling is a more a testament to that than anything. From what I recall hearing on a recent airing of "Mike and Mike" they said the judge in this matter generally ruled in the favor of the NFL. So for him to break 'tradition' tells you that he wasn't sold on the NFL's case. Although we may not agree, the CBA these guys (the players in general) signed off on gave Gooddell (Commissioner in general) a lot of decision making ability. One of which was for him not only to hear a case and make a judgment, like this, but also act as arbitrator...of sorts. Unfortunately they (NFLPA and judge) seemed to think Goodell didn't allow enough 'due process' (which to me is BS) hence why I think we see the judgment today. I'm not at all happy the smug Brady and compatriots got away with it but am glad the distraction will soon be over.
  8. He could be the new "Tractor Traylor" (without the 'r')
  9. Agreed, like I said to Cracker's response I could care less about the media's 'feelings' but obviously not being an insider, that's really the only way for me (the fan) to get the info. But as far as trusting the organization, I really do have a ton of respect for Fox and to the same extent Gase and Fangio because of their reputation. I mean to say this is the first time in Bears history they've hired an experienced NFL HC says a lot. I've seen what he can do and has done with other teams and hope he can do it here too. I'm just not patient enough to wait until next year or the year after for it to happen.
  10. I remember commenting on how it appeared Fox was irritated about White's injury and thought it had more to do with the constant bantering from the media about his status. He came across as terse and sounded somewhat Belichek-esque with repeating the same message "he's day to day" etc. Of course we all later learned what he had to already know which was his 1st round pick was not only not going to be ready for the first game of the season but quite possibly the whole season. And again when faced with the questions about AJ he seems to be in that same 'mood' and one has to wonder, what gives? I can't say I blame him as coming in he thought he had a pretty good staff (with Gase and Fangio as the main pieces) but none of them are miracle workers. The players seem to be dropping faster than they can account for them and I would guess that is the most frustrating.
  11. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...n=chicago-bears So being a Bears fan I have to admit I'm starting to get a little nervous about the goings on behind the scenes. Is this typical with Fox? (being evasive about the status of players?). I know a lot of you are pretty much writing this year off before it starts but I'm not. I don't like going into something with a defeatist attitude. I have some glimmer of hope the team will do better that expected. I have to, otherwise I wouldn't bother. Heck I don't like the Cubs due in part that I believe they simply will never win the big one in my lifetime. Anyhow with White out and now AJ under that same cloud of suspiciousness I'm beginning to get concerned.
  12. This smells of that last TE project we had from the last regime. He was supposed to be some possible prodigy bball player with very little football experience. Can't recall his name and remember it being an unusual name but have to ask "where is he now?" I also want to say Lemon liked him because he was tall.
  13. As an aside, according to another article I was reading said G Andy Levitre (currently of the Titans) could become available after this last preseason game. Tennessee paid him big bucks a few years ago and he currently is on the second string.
  14. Too bad it wasn't Osweiller. Oh well, this makes sense.
  15. Heh...well whattyaknow? I heard some live broadcast this morning that specifically said "Slauson" but you're right, it was Clausen. (That's two in two years for him - not far behind Cutler and his 5 or 6(?)). Of course its possible having been concussed a few times in my life that I misunderstood what I heard...or thought I heard.
  16. I'd be interested to see what he has to offer. Young kid with a fair amount of upside. Although I'd be willing to see what comes of the cuts closer to the teams' required 53.
  17. Coming into this year the team had two former probowlers (Bushrod and Long), Slauson (who is no slouch) and a bevy of unproven youngsters (Ola, Leno and Grasu to name a few) that I don't think OLine was much a concern. Hell just two years ago we had a pretty stellar line who played pretty much the whole season together. Last year things unraveled a little where injures started to take their toll. Fast forward to this year and they bring in revered Oline Coach Dave Magazu and return 4 of the 5 starters from two years ago. Who knew that things would look even messier going into the regular season? What with Mills suddenly forgetting how to play tackle, Slauson just recently diagnosed with a concussion and Leno not living up to his potential. I don't see how drafting another two-three more oline would have helped. They did that in the third round with Grasu. And as Cracker pointed out the reasons, they had to entertain other options at the skill positions.
  18. Agreed. I really like your signature pick. The Kansas Comet and Papa Bear! That is sweet!
  19. At WR just about anyone would be good with all the injuries right now. Watching the game replay right now and man Leno is a hot mess. Almost every play he's being pushed back into Cutlers face or losing inside leverage. Man it's just plain awful.
  20. I would be willing to bet some of those pickups will be along the Oline. Maybe tackle...or two. Heck at the rate we're going, probably WR too.
  21. He's kinda fallen off since signing that new deal. Can't say we didn't see it coming.
  22. After seeing tonight's game do you think it'll matter?
  23. Agree with most. Not sure why you'd think Foster should start. SMC and Jones seem to be doing fine. Agree wholeheartedly with Acho (by the by probably off tonight to rest - he's not exactly a spring chicken and he's more than proven himself so far). Cutler rolls out and nearly gets his head lopped off. Only to be called back by and Oline penalty... Trying to figure out this Langford phenom. Keep hearing he looks great but I must be missing something. He looks average. Rodgers looks to me more like the change of pace back as he handles the N/S running better.
  24. I wasn't going to either until I started thinking about it and considering he has a relative injury free career until now I couldn't help but think it. Besides being a retired Navy sailor we're told we're naturally superstitious so it seemed necessary to point out. Might I suggest #15? It's available.
  25. I'll give you credit for needing quality players in backup roles along the Oline but I will not agree with Cutlers success or failure directly correlating with how they perform. I have to look no farther than Aaron Rodgers to know that to be the case.
