  1. Had heard the same thing about Quinn. Same about Flores, something about him being from the Bronx(?) area? I was reading up on Caldwell as I recall him doing better in Indy when he took over for Dungy…at least for a few years. Guess who was the GM at Indy when Caldwell was HC? Polian.
  2. Yup…that is a thought being circulated. While watching NFL this Morning one of the hosts said there was a connection between Daboll and Polian but didn’t say what it was. Maybe this?
  3. Herbert is similar (and talent wise maybe better) but lacks the aggressive killer instinct you say Allen has. In watching Herbert play this year (and considering he’s a few years behind Allen) I could see both being the next generation of Roethlisberger and Rodgers. With Burrow and hopefully Fields rounding out the group. Thought I’d add this as I just saw it on Twitter. Pretty cool.
  4. Anyone who has played with Fields; Olave, Garrett Wilson or even Jameson Williams (who played with Fields in 2020) would be great options. Williams is probably gonna slip in the draft too with his recent ACL injury. With pairings like Burrow and Chase in Cincy and Hurts and D. Smith in Philly can’t help but think Fields pairing up with one of his college mates would be a huge boost to his production.
  5. Edit: after seeing Daboll “pitch the perfect game” he’s back in the top of coveted HC candidates. But… The Raiders definitely need to consider keeping Bisaccia as HC. Amazing what he’s managed to do this year in Vegas.
  6. Or at the very least when they interview the GM candidate they understand the team wants to hire a strong HC candidate like Harbaugh and what do they think of it? Either way its a foregone conclusion.
  7. I have to agree with this. We as a group always said Pace did well at picking players in the later rounds. (And more recently in the earlier rounds). But those ‘hidden gem’ players are the ones the scouting department seek out and recommend for consideration. And whatever/however Kelly plays into that equation appears to be getting noticed by other teams.
  8. This… I seriously hope Kelley is a legitimate contender. He’s on other teams’ radar. Should be on ours as well
  9. If he wants to maintain his reputation he’ll want to be sure and recommend the right candidate.
  10. Is that a good thing? See he tore his ACL when he crumpled to the ground. He’s not exactly the ‘big body’ receiver I think of even though he measures 6’2. Seems a bit thin. I did see he played with Fields at Ohio State before transferring to Bama last season so there’s that.
  11. I’m not encouraged to talk about Lovie here but it’s crazy to think he was fired after a 10-6 season.
  12. Aside from Harbaugh and Frazier I think Daboll rounds out my ‘top three’ favs to take the job. Not only were they able to re-adjust the offense mid-season, I was confident (and frankly anticipatory) Trubiksy would flourish in it. Mostly because it’s the type offense I think he’d do well in and Daboll is the type of guy I think who would know how to accentuate his talents. Encouraging if you have a guy like Fields who is shoulders above Trubiksy in raw talent.
  13. I get it. Certain coaches who have more gravitas will have more say in who THEY work with. Seems backwards thinking to me but whatever. The question I had to do with announcing the HC interview list, to the public, in the first place? Sure they maintain a list but maybe have the GM see it when they arrive? What purpose does it serve telling us about it? Especially, if as you suspect, Harbaugh is the one they really are going after? And so far from what I’ve seen he’s not on the list.
  14. Agree with Jason on what he asked. Was asking the very question earlier. Another question, if there is no GM is in place why bother telling us who is on HC interview list? Do we know whether the new GM will even want to interview any of these people? Is it just to placate us fans so we know the team is giving it due diligence on looking for a new staff? The HC list seems like a waste of time for now.
  15. I think getting the GM in place is more important than HC at this point. Maybe they’ve already got a person in mind? I’d like them to consider Champ Kelly. He’s been targeted from other teams for their GM jobs but is already a Bears insider. I read the second name on the list below, Morocco Brown, has also been touted. https://bearswire.usatoday.com/?p=494305
  16. Pretty good breakdown of what Staley did. Emmanuel Ocho does a good explanation of what happened in the imbedded Tweet by him. https://sports.yahoo.com/chargers-raiders-timeout-tie-brandon-staley-064703674.html
  17. When Carr was interviewed after the game he said their (his) intent was to win it from the start. But I agree in watching the game it sure looked like LV was good with just letting the clock run out. Have no idea what Staley was thinking. Suppose this just strengthens that rivalry that much more. I said in another thread how amazing a player Herbert is. He had something like 5-6 4th down and longs late in the game and converted every one of them. It was unbelievable.
