Quinn adds another notch to his belt. 19 sacks on the season.
-
And on 4th and 1 on the one Nagy calls a pass play that nets -10 yards. THAT sh*t is why he needs to be fired.
-
Johnson letting a rookie WR get 40 yards then watch Jackson tackle him.
-
Followed by Minnesota with their own series ending sack. Not nice.

Your first ever week 18 game thread. Go Bears! Blackson with a series ending sack. Nice.

No need to apologize for the ramble, a lot of good accurate info. There’s been discussion (a few types of course) about maybe someone at or around Ted Phillips’ level to help with managing the team. We’ve all seen the talk about possibly locating the Bears elsewhere and that Ted might be better served doing that. If that be the case, whomever that is could have direct oversight on what Pace does and how he does it. We’ve also heard the rumors ‘Pace is liked by the organization’ for whatever that’s worth. I’ve read the team is talking to football gurus like Bill Polian to get advice in their next move. Hope they listen. Add in whomever the HC candidate is could have more say on player management (almost hybrid HC - GM). Candidates like Harbaugh, Frazier, Payton, Pedersen fit more into a mold like that than do others like Day, Daniels or Daboll. So really, if Pace stays with the team he may end up being no more than a glorified scout with a lot of leashes.

I’m personally undecided on Harbaugh. On the one hand I like it; reaching back to guy who played with the Bears before (as a QB no doubt), success at both the NFL and college levels, success developing QBs. But in the back of my mind I have to ask is he the absolute best option out there? Especially for a player like Justin? Speaking of his success at getting good assistant coaches; there’s rumors going wound Fangio may be let loose in Denver. Could Fangio and Harbaugh be reunited in Chicago? Would Vic do that to his protege Desai? Lastly, then there’s this:

Saw a cool Tweet with Richard Dent congratulating Quinn with the record. Good on Richard. In other news this “tragic” Tweet by Eric Lampert (#6 on the list):

Thought this seemed a good place as any to speculate what will happen after next weeks game. I found this Twitter exchange between former players Tillman and Azumah. For what it’s worth I like Azumah’s idea and really appreciate how invested our former players are in the team.

I never realized how much Chris Collinsworth was a Rodgers “fan” until watching last nights game. It’s like he has some sort of uncontrollable man crush on the guy. It was horrible. As far as MVP, I’d think someone like Burrow would be deserving with his stats AND the fact he was completely out of the game last year due to a pretty nasty injury. But like you wrote out, there are a lot more deserving people out there before Rodgers.

Just need to do a quick recognition of Robert Quinn and his historic sack total. To think his highest number (19) was achieved during the 2013 (almost 9 years ago!!) season that’s pretty incredible. And while achieving this year’s record he also logged his 100th career sack. Congratulations Robert.

Week 17 Official Game Thread NYG at CHI, We are going streaking!

It’s commendable of him to get out and play today. But after what I saw earlier in the season when he completely missed a block (never really tried) when Justin was scrambling behind him and other times he didn’t try on his routes I’m not sure his heart has been in it. Didn’t he skip working out with Justin in the off-season when he and Mooney were working together? -

I thought both Borom and Jenkins played today. Borom started and pretty sure I saw Jenkins in the lineup late in the game. Edit: Turns out Jenkins was in as an extra blocker during that I’ll fated Wildcat play where Monty threw an INT. -

And Quinn sets the record with a sack of Glennon late in the game (#18). The only thing shocking about it was that it took this long in the game. -

Not sure why ARob is bothering with suiting up anymore. That Dalton interception was all on him. He literally pushed the defender into position then stopped. I used to be a fan of ARobs but no longer. -

Can’t go wrong with most SEC players especially the Georgia defensive ones.

This is indeed one of the more sadder facts of this. From what I’ve read Dickerson was one of a kind. And the community has reached out to pay their respects. That should tell you the kind of person he was.
-
Yeah i see this has evolved from what you started to what we are discussing is about whether Nagy will stay until the end of the season let alone until next year. We all agree he shouldn’t and probably won’t be back next year. As far as him staying until the end of the year, it’s kinda moot now for the reasons you cited above. Fields seems to have ‘moved on’ as do most of his teammates. Especially the defense who has played really well these last two games, or at least measurably better despite many starters out from the back end.
-
Couldn't agree more. Having him call this over and over is really embarrassing. If he (Nagy) left now, would we really see what a "real offense" looks like before the end of this season? I'm still not convinced Lazor or even DeFlip 'are those guys'.

Funny...but I think you're right. Reading about the Giants dysfunction is very similar to reading about the Bears current state but weirdly enough, yes the Giants are a bigger mess. The fans in NY want EVERYONE gone from the owners on down. Do we know who will start at QB for us yet? If its Foles, I predict a last minute win (just because that seems to be how Foles plays for the Bears). If its Andy, he'll play to about the second half (with a slight lead) then head into the locker room with a mysterious injury. If its Fields he'll get the team way ahead in by half-time then fumble the ball a few times in the second half to keep the Giants in it. Whomever it ends up being the Bears should win the game.
