Week 11 Official Game Thread: BAL at CHI (+4.5), O/U 45, NOV 21, 12PM CST / CBS
You can tell Mooney and Fields are building something special. It’s good having Romo calling the game. Critiquing some of what Justin is doing. Essentially verbalizing the positive tweaks he’s making.

And Santos misses? Uhm…. But that long pass to Mooney during the series was a thing of beauty.

Speaking of Cassius Marsh. This will probably close the book on Danny T as a Bear.

It seems the defense is banged up across the board. When you have a player like Cassius Marsh out there (after being signed earlier that week) you know injuries are stacking up. The good thing is that when Fields started to go off against Pittsburgh so did the defense. As long as the scheme is solid they should be able to handle Baltimore.

Maybe this will help? Former teammate of Mack’s back in Oakland.

Ha. Considering Flacco has won and been the MVP of a SB, Dalton has been to four playoff games and Cam has won a SB it would seem they were able to do more with less (using total yards as the measure) than has Stafford.

List of 2022 HC Candidates
Knowing the focus is on the younger 'up and coming' candidates I'd still think some that aren't necessarily young should be considered too. Honestly I'm a little gun-shy on having another Offensive wunderkind/QB whisperer take over. That being said, I'd still like to consider Bills OC Brian Daboll (48) as I think even though he hasn't been an HC at the pro or collegiate level yet he's 'been there done that' at both levels. And been successful while doing so. The other I think should be considered is KC's current ST coordinator Dave Toub (59). It was mentioned that familiarity with the team helps. Although he isn't as familiar with the cuurrent members of the team he's certainly familiar with the staff. And if you consider coaches like John Harbaugh and Bill Belichick got their starts as Special Teams coordinators I'd think he'd be a great consideration.

Why wouldn't Russel Wilson be considered? Granted he's at the low end of yardage (~35,000) but he does have a SB win after only his second year. Sure it was mostly due to his defense BUT if you're considering someone like Stafford then I'd think Wilson would be part of the conversation. I'd be curious to see if the list got extended to include the top 10 active Qbs with yardage how it would stack up. If you're considering recently retired then Eli and Brees become part of the discussion too.

Good to know. Makes sense.

Isn't him playing Guard why he wanted out of Philly? It seems crazy to uproot him from a position he prefers over another he does not. Then add on replacing him with a player that is not only an untested rookie but one that has spend the whole season on IR. Of course to make matters more confusing....Jenkins may practice at both Left and Right Tackle https://www.bleachernation.com/bears/2021/11/16/the-bears-will-give-teven-jenkins-practice-reps-at-left-and-right-tackle/

I'll have to take a closer look going forward. During that interview with Kreutz he was somewhat cryptic as to why he thinks neither Daniels or Whitehair are playing Center. The impression I got was they either weren't able or better served playing as Guards.

While watching last night the one thing that I kept thinking about was how both Nagy and Shanahan were roasted some weeks ago for the respective failures as coaches. Nagy I get however after last night its apparent that Shanahan still has what it takes as an NFL HC (if only for one night). He was able to adapt his team to go against one of the better defenses in the league by simply running the ball. From what I recall they said he ran the ball 40 times(?) overall and included their best receiver, Deebo Samuel, in those stats (accounting for one rushing TD himself). What Shanahan did last night was evidence of the ability to adapt either in mid-game or season to make your team better and play to your players' strengths. Maybe they'll make a run, maybe they won't. But SF isn't quite out of the playoff hunt even at 4-5.

I've been reading more and more criticism of how well (or not in this case) Mustipher is playing. Some weeks ago I saw the criticism and wanted to see what Kreutz' take on it was and shared an article on this thoughts. I didn't get the feeling that Mustipher was THAT bad and admittedly I haven't seen where all the critique is coming from. It seems the running game is clicking pretty well, especially in the zone blocking scheme (a huge success due in part to what the Center does before and after the snap) and the rushing of the quarterback is coming from the edges and not the interior. In fact I saw a stat somewhere that shows Mustipher with only being credited for one sack all year. So what gives? Is there film somewhere showing this colossal breakdown solely on the play of Sam?

Meanwhile 3-5 San Fran is beating up on the much ballyhooed (currently 7-2) LA Rams 31-7 as I type this. Despite LAR having Ramsey, Donald and Miller on D and OBJ and Stafford on Offense.
