  1. Alaskan Grizzly

    Trades

I'm worried about Jimmy's durability. I think that's a big reason why SF is looking at getting away from him. And rumor has it that Belichek would like him back.
  2. Hmm...I recall him being the big hero in SB two years ago. Sounds like he has a history of injury BUT took last year off to care for a family member. So hopefully that translates to a good role player(?). Familiarity with both Nagy in KC and Lazor in Miami. KC fans aren’t happy about him leaving so that’s encouraging.
  3. Remember Vic Fangio is their head coach so....
  4. That right there. ^^ Although I think 50 is onto something. I was repeating what I believe Adam found that he and Cutler were pretty comparable in stats (11 years Cutler vs 9 for Dalton) over their respective careers and he's smart enough to put the ball in the right place. About as mobile as Brady but not nearly as careless as Trubisky or Winston.
  5. Sounds like they have since signed him. I'm good with it. I was always a fan when he was with the team before. I seem to recall his better days were playing OLB in Florida State and couldn't figure out why he kept getting put on ILB duty when he was in Chicago before. Even though his most productive year was with the Bears in 2017 (90 tackles) ... as an ILB. So what do I know? lol. Still think at this point of his career he's more a depth/rotational player.
  6. Hell, that ain’t crow...that’s “fact” Jack. I’m with you though, Leno doesn’t pass the ‘eye test’ to me. Found this interesting article on FB which makes a compelling point: https://www.bleachernation.com/bears/2021/03/22/this-is-a-charles-leno-jr-appreciation-post/?fbclid=IwAR1ij0hxoNKy-2ghbnUEuWGXunL7-Mld5KNZOgJOjd8ib5f_PFGBoDtK3xQ
  7. Maybe a reason for Leno to move on so NY doesn’t have to eat anymore crow? Lol.
  8. Agreed. I was a bit upset when I saw this first occur. But after reading more about it, I don’t feel nearly as bad about it. I think Adam put up some side by side statistical comparisons to Cutler and he is pretty close to his career averages with 2 less years in the league. And that include 8 (?) years with a less than stellar team in Cincy. One he was able to get to the playoffs a few times. So maybe all is not lost.
  9. Looks as though the Bears are close to a deal with OL-man Elijah Wilkenson. Formerly of the Broncos. https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2021/3/23/22346765/report-chicago-bears-to-sign-offensive-lineman-denver-broncos-elijah-wilkinson
  10. He had three more sacks last year than Robert Quinn so that’s pretty cool.
  11. You think that’s a knock on Desai as DC or just the dumpster fire that is the current condition of the team? If I were to hazard a guess he had his best years under Fangio. So they’re reunited.
  12. Meh. I honestly didn’t know much about Golladay until the Bears started sniffing round. If we’re thinking at best he’d be a #2 or #3 receiver (after Mooney) then we could safely look at any of these current FAs and probably save money while doing it. Hilton, Watkins or Fitz could fill that role for a year or two.
  13. Saw this on FB earlier. Couldn’t help notice Dalton will be Paces NINTH starting QB!!!!
  14. That would be nice. Problem is the defense will suck so it’ll be a few years before we see it equal out again. Lol. Oh to be a Bears fan.
  15. Yep I get it. It’s about being able to keep teams competitive. It just sucks when it affects your team this way. Another thing I heard yesterday was that the NFL signed a new long term contract with ESPN/ABC, FoxSports, etc in the neighborhood of a couple Billion dollars (yes with a B ) through 2033. One analyst said that equates to each team earning roughly $400 Million starting 2023. I assume all of that won’t be cap money but they said it will in fact impact each teams cap. Enough to where things like the Bears losing Fuller wouldn’t have happened. This sounds like an Adam type story as I was a bit vague on the details.
  16. Perhaps he’s not being thrown at as much? Remember Johnson was a rookie last year and was replaced by other various players when he went out. But going with your ‘plan’ idea, who on the roster replaces Fuller? Did Pace just add another draft need by doing this?
  17. Listening to ESPN tonight they think part is why Fuller was released was due to ARob signing his Tag. The guy on “Freddy and Fritz” (didn’t catch his name) thinks the Bears were hoping Robinson either wouldn’t sign it and go for a long term deal or they could trade him. Doesn’t sound like either played to their favor. Yay... Glad to have Robinson just not at the expense of helping dismantle our defense.
  18. I couldn’t help but LOL at this!!!
  19. And not that this was enough but Keeping with the theme of “dumpster fires”. Remember the blockbuster trade that wasn’t (for Wilson)? The one that allegedly involved those 1st round picks and a few “unnamed” starters? Turns out those starters were Hicks and Mack. Can’t imagine Pace and Nagy having anymore respectability with the team at this point. Next season is lost. https://sports.yahoo.com/bears-offered-seahawks-khalil-mack-162217721.html
  20. Rumors are that Hicks is on the trading block. As someone else speculated, signing Blackson earlier this week suggested it might be the case. https://beargoggleson.com/2021/03/18/chicago-bears-akiem-hicks-trade-rumors-instagram-trade-block/
  21. If given the opportunity to play in Buffalo I suspect Mitch will succeed. The talk of OC Daboll is nothing but good. He runs a very similar style offense that Andy Reid does. I've heard comments that Daboll has cobbled together a little bit of everything he's learned in his years of coaching, to include his time as OC for Alabama in 2017 to come up with what they're doing with Josh Allen at QB. Once they added Diggs their offense took off. They ranked #2 overall in total yards, #3 in passing yards and #2 is points scored.
  22. Off to the Bills https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/31087811/buffalo-bills-mitch-trubisky-agree-1-year-deal
