I tend to agree. We all want the LT position settled, but when you have the seventh rated OL, in the first year of a system, that's a great thing. Add in that these five guys have never played together before this season. Braxton was always average at best, but coming off the injury made him worse. We could even sign him on the cheap, as he is still very young. I could see Theo taking over for Thuney one day. If draft day comes and the clear best prospect is a left tackle, I'm taking him. If it's close, I'm taking someone to get after the QB. We need that first and foremost.

The only reason, I feel certain is due to seeing this before; not just with the Bears. 100% of the time, these teams fizzle in the end. Now, if I saw the defense getting better, it would be a very different story. As of now, we have to rely on turnovers and exotic blitzes to affect change in a game. That stuff generally doesn't work in the playoffs. I'm really looking forward to December to see if we have Johnson, Gordon and Edwards back. Those three are difference makers in their own way. I'm leary that they'll help the pass rush. But, maybe DA can dial up something that works.

This is something that makes me really happy and confused at the same time. Last year, nobody hated Edmunds more than I did. This year, he is playing his ass off. Did he get a wake up call? Is it scheme change? Culture change? I feel he was not engaged last year, due to various reasons. Is this the real Edmunds?

It's easy to disagree and I will. This is a false good team. However, we are trending up. Caleb is a gamer that's learning. The OL is solid, but the DL is still suspect. The LB corps can't tackle anyone without Edwards. The pass rush sucks. There are players that don't belong and some that are overpaid. The next two years will balance that out. This year ain't it. Remember, the arrow is up!

I'm ready for him to hand it off to game ball winners. I think that would be very cool. It's also neat to see Warren and Poles get in the action.

The combined record of teams we have beaten is 13 and 41. If and when we beat a team with a winning record, I'll celebrate. As of now, we are winning ugly while favored. Our defense is fragile. We can't stop the run without Edwards and are still not causing pressure from the front four. The bright spots have been the OL, TE's, and Rome. Caleb is up and down, but is looking like he has the clutch gene and is willing to throw the team on his back when it counts.

I believe the whole point of the conversation is that Caleb needs to grow up. If anyone disagrees with that, they are wrong. The same was said about Mitch and Justin. While the skills may differ, the growth potential remains the wish. All three, at this point in their careers, had hope, upside and time on their side. You'll never win this argument with anyone overly supporting one opinion over the other. Some mindsets love to learn and converse with others, while others don't. Caleb is Uber talented and currently flawed. It's not for dispute. The degree to which this is correct can be argued ad nauseum.

This is the exact conversation we all had about Mitchell and Justin at this point in their careers. We could see the flashes and hoped for the consistency. Accuracy, footwork and timing. Timing being the most important thing for any QB transitioning from college to pro. Here we are praying another one makes it.

Regarding the draft. It sucked that a LT didn't fall to us in the first. After that, I believe they switched to the strategy of next year. Drafting Loveland and Burden, uogrades Kmet and DJ while getting younger and cheaper. We've discussed difference makers before. I was higher on Warren, but can see why the choose Loveland, due to his length and speed. Burden is a bigger faster DJ. All said, if we can't rush the passer, all is moot...
