  1. This is pretty fresh with me since I lost my Dad a month ago. All I know is that he and my mother would demand I be at camp. Nate Davis used it at an excuse to steal from the Bears. He proved that by his actions the following year. Zah will have his own circumstances. Hopefully he's in camp soon.
  2. No, but I'm gonna leave it alone from here on out.
  3. If ifs were fifths we'd all be drunk. How do you think it would play in the locker room? (Three year starter supplanted by a rookie that is not better) There's a reason SF had to trade Joe Montana away. If 71 is gonna get to 76, he's gonna have to do it in practice first. That's the depth we want to build, where the young bulls start moving out the old bulls. You gotta beat him first or the rest of the bulls don't buy it.
  4. Nope. 73 always beats 71. Contract doesn't matter at all. The only way 71 takes over for 73 is injury or trade. Then you decide to sign, trade or let walk.
  5. Side note: BJ said the Friday joint practice have been scripted, following several conversations with McDaniels.
  6. I completely disagree. You must play the best player, period. That's football 101. Everyone is building for a Superbowl, so that analogy just doesn't fit. And We are currently ranked fourth in our division, so every win counts just to make it one rung higher to a wildcard. Having a ready player waiting in the wings is not a bad thing. The eagles had a young Cam Jurgens sitting behind an old Jason Kelce. Some could argue that Jurgens made the OL better. I know he was damn good in the Superbowl, plus he was all pro. He was a second rounder just like Trapillo. I also think Kelce was a fifth rounder like Braxton. Howie Roseman is showing the league how it's done. Maybe Poles is catching on and drafting them before you need them.
  7. No, it's Zacheaus and Duverney as of now. They are clearly showing Scott the door. Now, I'm not saying they'll get more reps in games than Burden. But those dudes will get the start if of one of the first stringers go down. Once Burden gets his reps in, he should push one aside. Love the depth at the position. Back to OL. Many believe Trapillo will win the LT spot due to his draft status. We need to remember that he was moved to RT in college because he struggled at LT. Yes, that was early in his college career and he never moved back, so we don't know if he would've excelled there or not. He's gonna get a good long look Sunday and I can't wait to observe. I personally think Braxton should be the day one starter if 100! It's the safest choice.
  8. I wouldn't be surprised if Braxton doesn't play this week.
  9. I'll disagree on both. The are two guys killing in camp above Burden. Burden will continue to rise though, when he gets up to speed. Braxton Jones is the incumbent and must be clearly beaten. That has not happened as of yet.
  10. I don't think deception is in play. I believe Braxton is winning the job. Would make for a great trade in season if Trapillo develops.
  11. Sorry, the blood rushed to the wrong head with Stacey Dale's being in the interview. Couldn't take it...🤯❤️🥰
  12. Everyone reporting on today's practice were gushing.
  13. Same. From culture alone, it's been night and day from what we've seen in over a decade. Watching GMFB this morning, they were so concerned with 2019 Lamar Jackson being inaccurate in camp. That led to his MVP. Then, they talked Jamar Chase dropping a ton of ball in practice, which led to an All Pro season. I think Caleb will be fine, even if he doesn't figure out how to throw people open. There are several HOF QB's that didn't have that in their tool bag.
  14. No, just the right ones. Ball Busting 101: clearly states that anything and everything can and will be used against you. If you say never, someone else is gonna come in and offer a counter. This guy ain't taking your bet...🍻
  15. Same era. Charles Haley That's why I screw with you. We've all seen shocking trades, so it's possible. Never, being your operative word, should never be used when discussing things you personally can't control. It can eventually bite you in the arse. It's a beautiful Sunday afternoon and I have have nothing better to do whilst watching the Cubbies...🍻🤪
  16. Yeah, betting odds should 20-1 for staying in Dallas. Since we control Caleb for these next four years, nothing is set in stone with our cap space. Here's a scenario: Bears receive: Micah Parsons, Jack Sanborn and Cowboys 2026 2nd round pick. Cowboys receive: Dayo, Tremaine Edmunds and Braxton Jones. Also receive: Bears 2026 1st and 3rd round pick and 2027 2nd round pick. Creativity is bad bitch in the league. They can always find ways to wisely move money around to make ways to pay greatness.
  17. Thanks for washing my time. There's not one darn thing in that article that lays out why the Bears are not in the running for Parsons. Again, I'm not for trading for him, but damn.
  18. It would definitely peak my interest...
  19. Jerry Jones is the world's biggest attention whore. He's the king of any publicity is guys publicity. Micah Parsons is in the same mold. This is just a tactic both of them are using. Jerry and Micah know how much Jerry has to pay. It has to be at or more than TJ Watt.

Not according to our OC. They are being extra cautious with Braxton to ensure his ramp up goes smoothly. News is all over the place. I heard today on ESPN 1000 that Braxton is the front runner. Believe nothing until BJ or Poles say it.
  21. Micah Parsons is a problem to be dealt with. He could easily fit any scheme. Dallas lined him up as a DE on passing downs. They also played him at OLB. They called it the Joker role. I've seen instances where they played him at 3Tech on a run down and the OG and center both wiffed. He's a top tier athlete with instinct, elite quickness and top end speed. I said my piece about building Superbowl teams and I'll stick to it. I'm just not going to stand by and listen to he is not a scheme fit or would be a situational player. That's simply nonsense. Dude is a stud.
  22. I would prefer Jared Verse over Rome.
  23. 💯 The Superbowl teams don't buy edge rushers anymore. The days of getting a Charles Haley or Reggie White are over. Pay the offense, draft the defense.

This is the crossroad. Braxton is 26 and a three year starter. I'd imagine that several teams would love to have him. IMO, we would love to be one of those teams. Of course there are factors in play, like health and play. If health is good, his play should continue to ascend. Like I said a month ago, if he's the worst starting OL on the team, that's not a bad thing. Jordan Mialata was that once. IMO the only thing that pushes him out the door is one of the youngsters and it's not like either had a first round grade. It's the best of both worlds of they do.

I don't agree with this. Kmet is a proven veteran and was paid according to his value. Regardless of the Loveland pick he has a place on this team. If you look at the TE payroll it is not out of line with what anyone is paying. I would actually consider it a value for a position of strength. That won't change next year either. Moving on to Braxton Jones: he is clearly in a crossroads. Looking at our roster, the need for four OT's is real. The given fact that it's easier for an OT to play OG is easier than than the other tells us it's a good thing to have four. Braxton should stay unless we get a good deal for him. It's good being in the catbird seat for once. I like the bargaining chips we have at OL for once.
