  1. Bears meet Ervin Bladwin, Ervin Baldwin meet Bears.
  2. this guy reminds me of brown ....alot. He was invited to halas hall for pre draft visit. FYI nice hit @ 3:14
  3. Guess denver didnt have williams ahead of clady....
  4. probably right but the article mentions multiple teams. I am guessing Denver is not one of them. Don Banks had this in his mock draft. "The Broncos offensive line needs help, nowhere more than at the left tackle position vacated by the retired Matt Lepsis. Denver reportedly has Williams -- Jay Cutler's former college teammate -- rated ahead of both Boise State tackle Ryan Clady and Virginia guard/tackle Branden Albert. Illinois running back Rashard Mendenhall is the skill-prospect who could tempt Mike Shanahan."
  5. they would do it cause most likely covet Devin thomas, and could get him @ 14, we would do it to get 1st shot at OT like albert or clady before panthers/broncos. plus bills and bears have good relationship.
  6. just assuming, but the way the article written i dont think the long arm is his only medical issue.
  7. I guess word locally is that Chris Williams is the Bears pick. (espnradio1000 radioshow host Dan McNeil said his sources inside halas told him) BUt then i see this http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFLDr.../wwhi042308.htm The greatest need of the Texans, at No. 18, is a left tackle, and Vanderbilt’s Chris Williams could be available. The way we hear it, concerns about the variations in the size of Williams’ arms and legs, with one being shorter than the opposite limb, could affect his status. Furthermore, multiple team sources say he has been removed from consideration on their draft boards for medical reasons, which could play into the Texans’ favor. Hope Bears medical staff is up to snuff.
  8. Im worried that they really love flacco and that he might even be their #14 pick. then again if he pans out it will be worth it. I dunno, just concerned about their judgment in picking a qb.
  9. I don't know much about Brohm except that he already has had ACL surgery and has dropped alot so far in the Draft speculation. Mayock kinda dismissed him as a "west coast" qb I wanna like Henne but I cant get that Notre Dame comeback game out of my head. I like everything I have heard and seen about Flacco, especially his size and arm strength combo. Plus Wanny dismissed him which in my book is a bonus in my book, (and maybe why I'm not in love with Otah who wanny calls his best blocker ever")
  10. Just heard Mayock on ESPNradio1000 predict that some teams will move up for Flacco/Henne before Miami has a crack at them with the 32nd pick. Question? Would you trade your 2nd and a 3rd or something along those lines for a 2nd First round pick. Also side note: he said that Flacco is "something special" in person whatever that means.
  11. makes our need at OL that much more glaring
  12. Per NFL network. they are going to be a force this year.
  13. He seems to be the consensus pick by all the draft gurus. I just cant get jacked for him. Anybody have anything to fire me up about him. About the most exciting thing I have seen is Mayock calling him a brawler. http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...t/jeffotah.html
  14. I heard the same thing, Virginia is a real live feminist. I don't know how taking jobs away from women is helping that cause but thats her prerogative I guess.
  15. I think this guy reaches on all the QB picks. To have 4 qbs picked in 2 rounds in a draft that has been labeled as a weak QB draft. Dont think so. I actually am starting to believe Matt ryan drops to us and possibly past us.
  16. Nice link Tahnks. I like that Owen Schmidt from West Virginia. 6'2 , 250. He would be a nice change of pace back from Wolfe/Peterson.
  17. I just total access on NFL network and they said that flacco is rising and at the moment he is the #1 QB on 6-7 team boards. This sucks cause I saw us taking him in the 2nd round. Pobably not an option anymore.
  18. QB's have fallen in the past, what if he drops down to us? Do you want angelo to take him? Is he a franchise QB? I have this vision of ryan available and angelo having another david terrel moment, not really being prepared for the scenario.
  19. http://sports-ak.espn.go.com/nfl/index Mort, jaws , Kiper and tirico talking about Bears. I think Mort is talking out of A$$. Keep Berrian? for that money? He talks about it as though the only decisions on players are whether you have depth there. I think he just didn't do his homework. And as far as spending cash, look you we have coming up in contract talks-Harris, Hester and who we have signed in the last year- Vasher, Tillman and Briggs. Starters anywhere.
  20. This media issue is retarded too. who went to the media first?? Everyone is assuming it was Urlacher. I remember hearing about this months ago and it sounded as though sources from within the Bears were bringing this into the media spotlight. Assume like I do that Bears org went to media first when Urlacher tried to do theis "behind closed doors", later Trib reporter asks Urlacehr if he is going to OTA since he already knows Urlacher trying to get a knew deal. Who is really putting this in the media. From Tribune: Urlacher wants a contract extension but has been relatively low-key about it, leaving the negotiating to his representatives, who have been in constant discussions with the Bears for the last six weeks. Based on that It doesn't exactly sound like Urlacher is bringing his dirty laundry to the media. When Urlacher doesn't talk to Chicago media he is being selfish jerk, when he does he is being a selfish jerk. No win for this guy.
  21. We really shouldn't even care anymore. So many athletes do this its become almost cliche. It isn't hurting the team now and by the time it could I bet they have a new deal for him. Like you NGO, I think in Football the player has every right to sit out and demand more money if they are outperforming the contract. When you look at the body of Urlachers work under the contract I think he has outperformed. Further , the Bears have Urlacher as the face of the franchise, they expect him to live up to that. Some personal female issues aside he has arguably lived up to their expectations. He has been a good player, a good teammate and a good employee(him routinely offering to renegotiate his contract early on to help keep players comes to mind) In return I believe this entitles Urlacher to special treatment, i.e early contract renegotiations.
  22. Not sure if this was previously posted but its worth a look for those who haven't seen it. http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80774666 Assuming its true, I almost wish he'd shut his yap a little.
  23. Some mock had us taking him at 12 and making him our Left Tackle. The ex basketball player has the size for it. http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...ndenalbert.html -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Offensive Guard | Junior | Virginia Branden Albert Height: 6-55/8 | Weight: 309 | 40-Time: 5.17 Official Bio Strengths: Excellent size with a big frame and long arms...Fantastic athlete...Good quickness and agility...Strong and physical...Is nasty with a killer instinct...Mobile with decent range to pull and get to the second level...Smart with good awareness...Excellent pass blocker and also gets a decent push in the run game...Real versatile..Leader with great intangibles...Tough and durable..Still improving and has a lot of upside. Weaknesses: Still has some work to do in the technique department...Can be inconsistent with his leverage...Motor runs hot and cold at times..Not a dominant run blocker...Has to work on holding his blocks and finishing....He is still relatively new to the game. Notes: Did not begin playing football until his junior year of high school in 2002..Was also a standout basketball player as a prep...Stepped in as a true freshman and was a three-year starter for the Cavs ( 36 games )...Named a team captain as a junior in 2007...He started a couple of games at left tackle as a junior in place of an injured Eugene Monroe and could possibly play outside at the pro level as well...First-rate talent with exceptional physical tools....Already a great all-around player however his best days are still ahead...The rare offensive guard who is a legit first rounder
  24. Here's the thing, we don't know what the story is with the SF tampering. But Angelo has not been the type to bitch a lot about anything so whatever SF did it must have been serious. Even if we don't get money or picks, the best reason to complain about something like this is to scare other teams from pulling the same crap on us later down the line.
  25. I don't want to stop posting at a site I have been actively participating for 8+ years. But this is a serious problem for me. I cant understand how my post was not Bears related. Someone try to explain this to me. I have found myself stepping back and thinking why am I so pissed about this its just one post moved to another area. But its one thing to move the post, its another to defend the fundamental logic behind doing it. If this is the route we are going I'm going to have to question everything I post. "Is this Bear enough"??? which begs the follow up question "Is this Worth it?"
