No doubt about that! Harris gets a nice offseason deal, there's talk about him becoming the leader on the D and of course he says they can go all the way. Harris is a nice change of pace from the whinners like Briggs and our poster boy Url. Now, if Harris and Brown stay healthy (Big if, along with Url) We will dominate on D. O is, sadly, a big ?.

I think Leftwich would be a much better option. I, personally, don't think that Simms brings anything that we need.

I agree Pix. Now I'm looking to Williams getting signed and everyone coming into camp healthy and ready to contribute. Let's hope we can get some production from a majority of the draft picks and that we beat up every team we play!

In one way it removes an underachieving complainer that would hae been a distraction throughoout his tenure. I'd say it's a necessary move. Bad for the team? Wasting a #4 pick on him and paying him for the remainder of the contract was bad. JA screwed the pooch all the way around with Benson. And Forte better be ready to go.

Agree. Suspend him and get him into a treatment program. Too many alcohol related incidents. The team could help him out, get things turned around and get his life in order.

Agree BearFan2000. This is going to be THE season that decides Rex's future in the league. I wnat both to succeed. It would be great to have them do well this season and put the team and them on the spot contract-wise for 2009.

What else can they do in TC? And of course, no team wants to tip its hat during preseason wuus games as to blitzes, but they will still be coming after the QB on every down. What might be more telling is if, during the season, Lovie has a faster hook than he has in the past. I would rather he yank the QB if he's having a bad game. And I don't buy the 'create a controversey' arguement, cause they have already gone through it and we DO have a controversy. I'm just mixing up the Kool Aide and hoping that one of the two comes into camp and takes charge AND stays healthy.

Once agian, it calls into question his reliability. Can he last the season? Hell, can he get to TC? Damn, and I believe he's got the skills we can use.

AZ, never actually saw Butkus play, did you? If you had, you would understand that the guy was just flat out dominant in the game. He was always on the ball and brutalized the opponents. I remember a few years back when Url was run over by one of the Steelers backs on his way to a TD. Hell, 51 would have knocked that guy flat. Athletes are athletes, and Butkus would be the MLB on the team today if he were here and Url would be playing Hilly's spot.

Yep, Jason. JA gave Rex one more year to show that he can bury 'Bad' Rex. I hope he does. Given what 'Good' Rex looked like, I think it's a pretty good deal, given the QBs that were there in the draft and FA.

I can see Url's jealousy with the $, but still, he's got a contract. I really don't think that missing mini-camp is all that critical for Url, though it would be good for the TEAM to work atogether as much as possible. TC is, as you say, a must and I bet he'll be there grumbling all the way.

Good. Gould has been accurate and has taken advantage of the opportunity here. Let this be the start of the other guys that need to be signed.

Three points: 1) Like to read your stuff Tom. Has info that it'd take a while to track down. Keep it up. 2) I disagree with Moose. I don't think we're going to miss him, if anything, it may allow the younger players to step up now. And yes, he always threw the QB under the bus. 3) Oh, I'm pulling for Poles. The reads make him appear like a kid with his head on straight, and God knows we need a few of those, and OLmen at that. I also read on KFFL that we signed him to a contract.

I'd hope that we could police ourselves. It would be nice to come here and not have to look at what I consider meaningless words that really do not support an arguement. I love the fact that I can remain connected over the thousands of miles that separate me from the Beloved. it is just a nusiance for me. Great breakdown Wesson44. I think that Brown probably will get the nod over Anderson, though I'd like to see Mark take over the position. And I'd love to see Poles make an impression at G, god knows we need some starters AND depth there. I think Benson's gonna have to live with being part of an RB tandem or trio if Wolfe comes to camp with some resolve. MMMMM, taste that Kool Aide!

QB - Rex RB - Benson WR - Bennett & Bradley TE - Olsen Ditton on Benson and I'd put Rex in the same category. I've seen what he can do when he gets it right. Now, I may be engulfed in Kool Aide, or some other halucinogenic, but IF Rex could eliminate the stupid mistakes, wow! Then agian, it must just be the effects of drugs and altitude, uh?
