  1. Agree on that Prphet. In a year where FA was lean, this looks like good sense from JA. And I too am interested in what we can get from the cuts that will happen prior to the start of the season.
  2. We've still got a long way to go in the offseason. And who was-is there to sign that was really value? Everyone agrees that deals for solid players at best have been inflated this year. So JA waits for someone we want AND think is good value, and we have $ for the rookies. Then there are cuts that happen and waiver wires. Yeah, Brendon was a value, but not at the Ravens' price. Good luck to ya in Baltimore.

God willing! And I'll be praying for it! (You know it's a rib?! But just couldn't resist. )
  4. Gotta agree Nfo. While everyone is throwing a hissy fit about losing Berrian and him getting over paid, they then turn around and bash JA for signing someone at reasonable $ and with just as much potential as Berrian. Huh? Go figure.
  5. My first read of the day and you definitely got me laughing Mongo ! "agree with Terra Tor more often" wish I'd said that!
  6. I agree with you Mongo. Of course, the ultimate goal is to win the Super Bowl. But having a winning season is good, making the playoffs is better, winning in the playoffs is great and winning the Super Bowl is nirvana! But realistically, very few teams ever win or even get back to the Super Bowl two years in a row. I beleive that I read some remarks from Urlacher after the Super Bowl loss that boiled down to the fact that it was great to be there, only one team can win, but they had a successful season. Now, while I do think Url could use a bit more fire in his belly, success is winning, and ultimate success is winning the Super Bowl, but not the only guage of success, IMdO.
  7. It lies somewhere in between the two extremes for me. Yeah, Favre proved to be a great QB and led them to the Super Bowl, but please. His non committal pretty much held the team hostage for the past several offseasons. He's about as self-centered and egolomaniacal as the rest of the overpaid "heroes". And I couldn't give a shite about him crying. He's just a good player that has lost it. Go home and mow the grass Brett!
  8. If JA traded up to get him I would not complain. But I'm a Bear fan, so I'm also resigned to him wearing another uni this season.
  9. Sure hope that "guru" lives up to his billing! Oh yes, I would love to hear Bears take Clady on draft day!
  10. Okay, so maybe they're not surprises. Surprises I'll say Bradley on O and McGowan on D.
  11. Man, I'm throwing up! What a bunch!
  12. Well az, look on the bright side. At least Terra warned us with the thread title. As opposed to the threads of mythical injuries to everyone on the team that he posted on the other board.
  13. Ditto that, Hester. He was a solid contributor on STs. Hope we can fill the void.
  14. You too bradjock? Connor seems to be more up-to-date than the tickers at Fox or SI.com! Oh, and I'm glad we got Briggs back. And one can only dream that Brown, Harris, Dusty, Url, etc., will stay healthy and bring the D back to its respectable position. And there's still time to bring in some FA, so I'm waiting for Connor's next scoop!
  15. His blocking will be missed, but yeah, we have two guys who can catch the ball so he was made expendable. My mom is in Tampa and a big Bucs fan, so I'll continue to hear about him. Wish him luck!
  16. If Williams is an upgrade over Jamar or Okwo, put them on STs. Remember, Hilly is no youngster and who knows how Url is health-wise.
  17. Sounds like the cooler head, bradjock. And another Jones to push Benson (out the door?)
  18. Looks good on paper, but the draft is wild and anything goes once it starts. There'd be way too much money at RB, and we know what JA says about money at one position. Glad to see you decided to post, GCA! It's great to get more of us fans involved, or just venting!
  19. Snap out of it ButkusRules! In today's NFL we can go from worst to first, just ask the Puckers. And most of our guys have been to the mountaintop and just missed the brass ring, so there should be some fire to get back. Kool aide or bust!
  20. I agree that a FA could push Benson, but I don't see a draft pick doing it, unless it's our no. 1, and that ain't gonna happen. Benson's got his head up his arse so far that he belives he's the second coming of Jim Brown. No draft pick taken much lower than he was is going to have any effect on him. He feels that he's got Chicago all sewn up and he's not the least bit fearful of losing his job.
  21. Share that with ya ConnorBear. ITC was a solid contributor.
  22. I wouldn't like that move. I think we should sit tight or trade down if it looks like one of the OTs is going to drop. We need to get one of the top OT prospects. A QB is for the future now that Rex is signed. That's not to say I would'nt want Flacco, but OT is something we need in a big way.
  23. Agree ConnorBear. once we draft a QB--after rd. 1--Griese will be supurfulous. If there really is a competition in training camp, things could get a bit more interesting. I could almost break out the kool aide--almost!
