  1. Kind of rare in the NFL. Good for you Rex! Now go out there and prove the pundits are wrong.
  2. Beat me to it Bradjock. Get Rex signed, open up a real competition at QB, release Griese and draft a QB after rd. 1. Now let's go after some Ol in FA.
  3. I disagree Big Daddy. Players and agents know the drill: hold out until the temas give in. No player is going to take less that last years similar pick at that spot. Until the world tilts on its axis, the salaries are going to keep going up for these players that have shown squat. Now we know where guys like Briggs and Berrian are coming from--if an unknow rookie gan get astronomical $, why not me, a proven quantity?
  4. The Trib is reporting that JA said today we wil NOT tag Berrian. That, to me, says he's gone. Is the staff and JA making a mistake and thinking that Hester is the No. 1 guy? I think so.
  5. If we can get Rex signed, and that's a big "if", then I'¡d be all for drafting a QB after rd. one and letting him develop. We have to be looking to develop this position for the long term.
  6. Ditto that Nfo. And it probably is an indication that Metcalf will remain forever a relief player and not a starter.

    Dent

Once again Richard Dent was overlooked for the Hall of Fame. Damn! Super Bowl MVP and a monster at DE. If Manibal made it Dent definitely should be there. Was this his last shot?
  8. For me it was Sayers scoring six TDs in one game. Yeah, the Bears pretty much sucked otherwise, but watching Sayers and also Butkus . . . that was football. I also must admit that my wife got scared when I jumped up and yelled when Hester took that Super Bowl kickoff to the house. There have been some great moments for us, for sure.
  9. Yeah, I hear ya. We'll just se what Bellichek and their D can do to bring back the true Eli.
  10. Its a good scenario, but you just know that, with the problems we've had on the OLine in protecting the QB, and the importance of LT, that they will leave Tait on the left side. Ijust hope that the Oline is addressed fully so we can have some semblance of offence this coming season.
  11. If there is one that we want I'd love to see JA deal us into position for him. But it is totally out of character for JA to move up in the draft.
  12. You feel old now Brletich? Just think about all the fun those two little trick or treaters are gonna bring you and the little lady when they reach their tens. Oh, and then beyond! You'll love 'em, but you will know exactly how old you are!
  13. The last two Super Bowls have been close ones. I think this one goes back to the blowout scenario. Pats win by at least 30 pts.

    THE DRAFT and FA

Sound philosophy and I agree with you Nfo. BPA at a need position, and we've got enough of those to find someone at no. 14 or even later.
  15. Oh to be 42 again!! Happy birthday both of ya!!
  16. Agree. It would be very difficult for me to see us drafting a QB at no. 14. Whoever it would be would want big $ and could be a pain to sign. I want OT with the first pick.
  17. MMMMMMMMMMM! Balmy Delaware. . . . Oh yeah!

    THE DRAFT and FA

I would also feel better seeing OL be the top priority in the Draft. LT is amust. We can keep the kid around for a ong time and can also move Tait back to the right. It is damn tough to find a team that will let a good LT get away from them via FA. If an LT is there at 14 and he is promising, I say take him. OL is where offensive success begins.
  19. Glad to see you're name up there! Hope you remember your username for the future!
  20. I agree on this. A third TE seems to have little value when we all know the crap we've gone through at RB. Makes much more sense to carry 4 RBs with Wolfe and AP also being on STs. And that extra FB? How much does he get in? with so many leaks that need plugging, JA needs to take a closer look at value for the $ and roster spot.
  21. According to SI.com former Bears coach Jim Dooley died at age 77. Man, he had Butkus and Sayers on the team and they went 1-13 in 1969. He also was an assistant under Ditka. R:I.P "When Jim was first drafted, he called ... Coach Halas and said, `What's my bonus?"' Elaine Dooley recalled. "Halas said, `Your bonus is you're drafted for the Chicago Bears."'
  22. I'd go for Transition Tag. It's cheaper and, while I would like us to keep Berrian, I don't think he should get paid like a top WR as per the Franchise Tag. And we can match or get compensation, which I like.
  23. I think he comes back and the competition in TC ends with him being released. They just have to bring in someone who can block as well as compete with Ced for the starting RB spot.
  24. Just fix the OLine and alot of things will beging to fall into place on offense.
