One of the best posts I've read today Jason. Go figure. Ol is where it all begins and ends on every down. One injury and our weak Oline is gonna be the end of us.
-
Agree on looking at the cuts from teams with a strong Ol. This is just a fine pickle that JA has gotten us in to. And one week before the season starts.
-
Man, I'll definitely be praying for Peanut's kid tonight when my knees hit the floor. And I agree, no way Tillman could be thinking of his job through all that.
-
I hope! We are going to need some kind of depth, and what we have now ain't gonna get it done for the season.
-
It is maddening to me that, with the mess we have on the Oline, JA did not bring in someone that had a snowball's chance to win a spot. And now, if we pick up some guys off waivers, they will need some time to get the system down. Very disappointing job by JA & Lovie with the Oline, among other things.

Just read this on the Trib site. About time!

I thin there are questions surrounding how he would enter the NFL, Draft? FA?, and also if he has even completed high school. I really don't see it happening. The guy is a God in Jamaica, why would he want to take his act North?
-
This game definitely resigned Rex to a backup role. I hope we don't need him. But the way the position attracts injuries, it will be good to have Rex come in, only if needed. I'm psyched about Kyle!
-
Yeah, darn. All I got last night was "Not Broadcasting". Well, hopefully I'll get some during the season.
-
Agree Pix. As a Purdue alumn I'm glad he finally gets the shot after riding the pine for a while. Kyle gained valuable experience his first year, now I want to see him step up. On the other hand, I think Rex got a bum deal in Seattle. And if our Oline does not improve, no one at QB or RB will get much done this season.

Hass is gone. And Bradley is just hanging in there. Bennett is gonna stick, thanks in large part to showing he can field punts and be there if Hester can't. But it really won't matter much if we don't have an Oline, cause there just won't be any passes thrown.

Gopt a bit scary when the game didn't show up on the Channels list. But watching the chats, they pointed out how to get it. It's great for us stuck in the boonies!
-
Agree on Harrison. He has made the team and he's going to be a good one. Idonije came to play. I am getting the feeling that the no. 1 D unit is just going through the motions. Lance and the rest are saving it for the real games. And I really don't get that, but the finished what, about 28th overall last season in D? I'd think that their pride is going to be on the line and hope that we get the Bear D back like it should be. Forget running now. We know already that Forte is the man. What we don't know is who will be handing him the ball. That's why, IMdO, they are passing so much in these learning games.

Here I can agree with you BearSox. Outside of Beekman having two false starts, i think he's earning his way into the guard spot. And The false starts are particularly tough to swallow 'cause he single that out as something he was NOT going to do. But hey, it's preseason and that's what these games are about, learning and moving on. And agree totaly on Olsen. He's going to make Davis look awfully good if he can't learn to block.
-
The Oline stunk and Rex had no chance at all to do anything. When Orton came in, the Hawks stopped brining the pressure and he had some time to get things done. So, BearSox, my question is, what would you have had Rex do? There was a defender in his face all night, and Kramer was saying it from the booth all night. The INT was, IMdO, from him getting hit as he threw the ball. For me, I don't think we learned much of anything last night about who is the best QB. What we learned is that with this Oline, it doesn't matter who is the QB.
-
What I want: NO INJURIES! The D to stuff them and not allow any 3rd down conversions. See Hester catch some balls, Bradley pick it up and Davis to keep developing. Rex or Orton take over the position. The Oline to look solid, St. Clair to continue to hold his own at LT and for Beekman to show that he can play. NO INJURIES!
-
CrackerDog, you just wrote that Nfo was RIGHT!!!!!
-
Yes, it is a dismal comment on the amount of info out there on the Bers when I turn to reading both your posts in this thread!
-
This is getting to be almost as bad as TerraTor's fake injury posts on the old site. Not high falluttin' stuff! But have fun, anyway!
-
We're fine at QB. Lt's just stick with three we've got, cause the OL isn't going to help ANY QB out. And Hanie can scramble, right?
-
Putting a positive spin on things before the season, eh CrackerDog?! I think humor could turn out to be the one saving virtue, given the Oline we've got, the QB race, etc.
-
And Hanie will be snapped up from the PS. And we'll be up the creek when both QBs go down with injuries. Man, whatever happened to looking ahead, being proactive. Lovie and JA are really on thin ice this season. I'd rather we IR'd Williams than put Hanie on the practice squad.
-
ÇWish I would have watched a bit more to see Hanie and Wolfe. But I agree on Beekman and Forte. I think Forte is the real deal. And if Babitch can't get it done with the guys we have on D then he should go coach high school. Its just preseason, so I'm gonna give hime the benefit. But not for long.

Yeah, the ads were pretty hokey, but I don't get ads from the U.S. here, so. . . . But thanks again Miami Bear. The site worked great!
