Joniak Article with some interesting tidbits
Chitownhustla replied to DABEARSDABOMB's topic in Bearstalk
Love reading that about White. He impressed me with the few interviews he has done since being drafted. I cant recall another draft pick that I am this excited to see play. The guy has everything you want in a WR, not saying he is going to be a Dez Bryant type of WR but he has the physical skills to be that good. You see how much better our offense is with Alshon playing. If White is a beast this offense could be insane. For the guys that get butt hurt when talking about White, Im saying "IF" he is a beast not that he will be a beast. -
Agreed on having lower expectation on White. I really hope White turns out to be a game changer. If he is this draft class could go down as one of the best the Bears have ever had.

Some of the guys on sports radio in Chicago have said that they reached out to their contacts at Halas Hall and everyone has said that there is no Gase to be Fox's successor. I think this is kind of a made up "hope" type of thing. John Fox is only 60 years old, I dont see him retiring anytime soon. I hope they are grooming Dowell to be the next OC, Cutler gets along with him and he could keep the same system going once Gase gets his shot. I think we have a shot at 2 years with Gase, 3 may be pushing it. I'm with you tho, would love to see Gase here for 3. Hopefully Fangio will be here long term, hope is the key word. Once he gets the Bears D turned around he will have offers too. These rproblems are a lot better then hiring Trestman over Arians. What was Emery thinking???? lol Once Gase has the "Guy who fixed Cutler" on his resume he will have many options college and NFL. Not sure how interested he is in college but offers will be there.

He is a game changer. We need him out there!

The importance of having great OC and DC has been proven this year. With a roster clearly lacking talent the O and D have performed better than I had expected. I would love at least two years with both Fangio and Gase. Maybe we get that or maybe we don't. Only question I have is with the SP Teams, is it a lack of talent or poor game planning on the SP Team Coordinator?

Thanks a lot!!! Ill start here and let you know what I think......This weekend I will be getting a great steak from this place called Perry's in Oakbrook, im sure they have some good Scotch. If you guy are ever in the area you have to try it out. They have this 78 finger pork chop that is insane.
-
Just read that St Louis had the 2nd most sacks in the NFL, behind Denver. So the next two weeks our Oline will really be tested. This could cause a lot of problems for Cutler. Also just saw that Chris Long will be out for this game so we wont see the Long brothers battle it out.
-
Im not saying we are making the playoffs Im just saying with the way the Bears are playing they are winnable games, will we win?????not sure. Last year after everything went to shit I wouldn't have said they had many winnable games.
-
Ok so If Im looking for a go to Scotch you are saying Lagvulin 16 is the route to go?
-
I did not know that about Scotch. I just recently got into scotch. I however am a long time Bourbon fan. I lived in Lexington for about a year and half and fell in love with Bourbon. I did the Woodford Reserve Tour, it was really cool.

The funny thing is Cutler said he put the ball where he wanted to, Cutler states that Alshon seemed to get pushed or dragged inside. Both these statements go along with the great picture work by Adam. The guy was all over Alshon, if you dont think that was PI then you dont watch a lot of NFL games. Ive seen a player fart in the general direction of a WR and PI gets called. Either way freak IT, it was Cutlers fault. Cutler played his ass off. Winning feels great. I love winning like I love Scotch.....I love Scotch...Scotch...Scotch...Scotch....Get in my Belly......... My apartment smells of rich mahogany and leather bound books....... I love Scotch......lol.....sorry I went all Ron Burgandy there for a min.

St Louis - will be a great test for our Offense. It will be interesting to see Long go up against his brother now that he plays RT. Winnable game for sure. Denver - Denver has a great Defense and never count Peyton out. Having Fox and Gase on staff should help a little but I dont see the Bears winning this one. GB - this one is a toss up, GB has looked out of whack the past two weeks but Rodgers always seems to play out of his mind against the Bears. dont see us winning this one. If the Bears win this game it will make my year. I would love nothing more to see Cutler and CO go up there and Beat GB. I have a deep seeded hatred for the Pack. 49er- could win this one Was - could win this one Min - could win this one TB - could win this one Det- could win this one
-
I agree with everything you wrote. Without Jay the Bears would have 0 wins this year. With a little more talent on the Defense maybe we dont lose to Det and Minny. Hell if the special team didnt blow we probably win both game as well. I may be jumping the gun but I think the Bears are closer then I had thought to being respectable. The Bears have a ton of cap space next year and if Pace hits on the draft again next year the Bears could be playoff contenders next year. The next 3 weeks will confirm that statement as they will be playing 3 good teams. The Bears already hung with GB, AZ until Cutler went down and Sea for a half with Jimmy Pickles missing every throw.

Agreed 100%. The NY Giants have been a well run Franchise for a long time. They consistently put a good to defense on the field and have always had a good offense. The Bears have never had the balance that the Giants have had in years past. If I had to pick between Eli and Jay I would probably go with Jay. He is more mobile and been able to create a lot of plays using his mobility to escape the pass rush to make throws. Our oline is not providing great protection and I dont think Eli would look as good as Jay has in our offense this year. Now if the Bears had an oline that gave good pass protection Im not sure which way I would go. Eli is pretty damn good when given time to throw the ball. On the same token Jay has proven he can pick apart a Defense when given time in the pocket too.

A point brought up on the score or espn radio yesterday talking about Cutler the leader, when he came to the Bears the face of the franchise was Urlacher and had other vets as in Briggs and PNut that were the core of the leadership of that team. They mentioned that it was probably hard for Cutler to come in right away and take a leadership role especially knowing Urlacher was not happy when the Bears traded for Cutler. Urlacher made it known he liked Orton as their QB and was not happy giving up two 1st to get Cutler. When you read the article I posted from the Denver GM that drafted Cutler it makes sense that Cutler would have a hard time becoming a leader with make up of the team he came into. It may be a reason we are seeing him display more leadership type actions on the sidelines now. It helps that he is playing very consistent right now. If you play week in and week at a high level it makes it easier to be a leader on the field. From everything I have read Cutler displays the qualities a leader should have behind the scenes ie : locker room, practice field, film study and general professional manner. We are now seeing more leadership actions on game day. As Alaska stated the next three weeks will tell a lot, I bet the offense and Cutler will face some adversity against the Rams, Denver and GB. I hope Cutler can react the same way he did against the Chargers. Right now all signs are pointing up for Cutler, I hope he continues to play well and get's better. I will say it has helped greatly that Alshon is back on the field. Maybe White gets on the field by the GB game. Another weapon helping Cutler will only make his life easier.
-
After the Go ahead TD they showed Cutler over with the defense before they went out on the field. Another sign he is taking on more of a leadership role.
-
I knew you would go with the SD is a weaker team comment. I'll take a win any week, it doesn't matter what team you play on Sunday, a win in the NFL is hard. I agree Cutler has 3 very tough weeks ahead of him. He can win a lot of Bear fans back by doing well the next three weeks. He may be able to win Bear Nation back with a Thanksgiving Day win against that other team.
-
That article was spot on. i hope he keeps up the great play!

I agree with you. I'm just choosing to not argue who's fault the INT was. He threw it to Alshon who was single covered. It was not a bad decision. INT's happen. I can accept this type of a INT. The INT thst results from throwing into double and triple coverage is the kind that I don't want to see. Even the fumble Jay had both hands on it. He wasn't being careless with the ball. The DE made a great play. These types of plays happen. If jay had been careless with the ball I would be pissed.
-
Great post. If he continues with this play for the whole season I will believe it. He will prolly have an off game or two but every QB does. He has limited his WTF moments which is mine and everyone's gripe. He has done this being under constant pressure due to a oline unit that is a work in progress. Cutler is the only reason we have won any game and been close to winning 2 or 3 others.
-
Was that suppose to be a back shoulder throw??? Was there contact between Alshon and the defender? Was that the classic WHY DID CUTLER TJROW THAT PASS INTO TRIPLE COVERAGE? I'm fine with that throw and INT, no QB is perfect. I love Cutler's response to the INT, he went back to work and lead the Bears to victory. Cutler was great last night. I know you can't stand it but he was. I hope Cutler continues to prove you wrong.

Yeah a great freakin drive.

Cutler for president
