  1. Sustained success is what Pace is going for. What do most if not all NFL teams that have had sustained success have??? A great QB. The only other way is if you have a decent QB and an elite defense. As far as records go, its a team sport. You cant put too much credit or blame on the QB for the record. Cutlers time here has been a rollercoaster of shitty situations with terrible OLine play, 4 or 5 years with zero weapons, shitty OC(Martz and Tice) which all goes back to the front office and coaching staff. With Cutler being who he is you cant expect him to carry an offense with bad oline play, bad scheme and terrible WR. Last year I expected Cutler and the Bears to finally put it all together. Oline was shotty, the scheme was predictable and it went south real fast. Cutler has his faults, he has his positives. His contract is a problem if you wanted to cut him. IF Pace wanted to trade him and get rid of the contract he could. Looking at what is out there in terms of FA qb's and this years draft I want to see what Gase can do with Cutler. CUTLER IS WHO HE IS AND AFTER 9 YEARS IN THE LEAGUE PACE AND GASE SHOULD KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH HIM TO WIN. Gase was considered for a couple of HC jobs. He is suppose to be one of the great offensive minds, lets see what he can do with Cutler. If there was a better option out there then I would be all for moving on. As of right now there is not a better option. Maybe the Bears do target a QB in the draft, Im all for bringing him along in the same manner as A Rodgers. Give the guy a year or two to learn the system and become comfortable in the NFL.
  2. Didnt need a veteran QB as he fills that need. I was and am all for them drafting someone
  3. What exactly do you think taking a Flyer on someone means???????????
  4. What is so crazy about that? If the Bears trade Cutler we have Fales and Clausen....The Bears will need to draft somebody and I wouldnt mind them taking a flyer on one of those two guys.
  5. Funny thing about Cutler, a lot or majority of Bear fans really dislike him and want him gone. I talk to friends of other teams and most of them would love to have Cutler. I have a bunch of friends who are Brown fans and Titan fans. These two teams have had similar QB experiences to the Bears prior to the Bears trading for Cutler.
  6. Locker and Gabbert I would be cool with taking a flyer on. Ponder, I want nothing to do with. I jumped for joy when the Vikings drafted him at 11 or 13 whatever they took him at.
  7. If they are going to trade Cutler I would hope Pace and Fox are targeting a QB in the draft, maybe they were impressed by one at the combine. We all know Pace will be looking for a Breese type of guy for the QB position. With all the holes the Bears have it is crazy to see them creating more with moving BM and now maybe Cutler. Before this all started the Bears didn't need a QB and really didn't need a WR but a speedy WR would have been nice. I do like the idea of a complete rebuild because it got so out of hand with Emery and Trestman.
  8. Im really torn on Mariotta, at times I think damn this kid could be special and then others I think he wont produce in the NFL because his speed will be nullified. I know a lot of guys don't like Petty but I do. I would rather see Petty drafted later than see the Bears draft a QB at 7.
  9. 1. This is a bullshit leak that is not true or 2. This is real and the Bears leaked this to see anyone else wants to join in a bidding war to drive up the price
  10. With another 12 million opening up I would think the Bears would be a little more active in pursuing some of the FA still out there.
  11. Not a fan or Bernstein but he was right about Marshal not that it makes everything he says right. I think everyone knows Im on the keep Cutty for one more year bandwagon. How much does trading him free up this year? Does it free the full 15 mill? That is a lot of money to free up. I wonder if they like Marritoa and may be trying to trade up for him.
  12. Houston= as long as his injury doesn't negatively affect his play should be able to be used in a number of ways in the 3-4. Not sure what his cap hits and guaranteed money looks like moving fwd. I don't see Houston's money handicapping the Bears at all. Young and Allen are both best suited for DE in the 4-3. The only reason Allen is still here is his guaranteed money for this year. Next year he will be cut. Im not sure on Youngs number. Emery swung for the fences last year thinking they were going to be able to make a run at the Playoffs. It sure would be nice not having Allens 12 mill on the books this year. That alone would have put the Bears at 42 mil range in cap space this year.
  13. I like the idea of Moore or Searcy better only because of the age. If they think Rolle can get it done for a year or maybe two great but like you said they would have to target a S in the draft.
  14. Im with you, no thanks. I dont think he is that good and waaaaaaay over paid.
  15. Ravens ex OLB. 5 years somewhere close to 40 per twitter
  16. NE a team that builds through the draft went out inFA and made a splash signing Revis. Pace will have to make a splash in FA with how bad the bears are. Will it happen this year or next...... Who knows... But it will happen.
  17. We will see. Bm said last year that he thought he could play until he was 40. 40 is crazy talk but 4 or 5 is doable.
  18. Tough one because Shady had a 15 mil cap hit. You have to get some pretty insane production to match that 15 mil Getting 8 mil worth of production from BM would seem easier.
  19. You got the Gase angle but there was something about BM and Cutty's relationship on twitter having soured in 2014 and that it may have not been repairable. The Cutty BM stuff goes to the question How big of a locker room distraction was BM last year.
  20. Funny Emerys first big move was trading for BM and now Paces first big move is trading away BM.
  21. If you copied and pasted all of his posts on one page, they would all read about the same. "The bears are freakin stupid" "The Bears are freakin terrible" "I can not watch the Bear anymore" I still get a kick out of reading his posts tho.
  22. If its a total rebuild which Pace and Fox may have determined then there is no stopping with BM... You have to trade or cut Cutler, Forte only has one year left so keeping him wouldn't be horrible. You have to look at it from Pace's point of view, this is his ONE shot. If he screws this up he will never get this chance again.
  23. I don't care what he does with the Jets, unless he is playing the Bears. All Im saying is Pace and Fox will be judged on all moves made. This move is a big one..... I hope it was a smart one.
  24. LOL!!!!!!!!! Hit the nail on the head, by trading him them added another need. The Bears have too many needs right now. They need another NEED like I need a hole in the head. I would totally get this trade if his cap hits were high, but they are not. Looking back at Emery and his decisions and how they affected the team, this will be a major move that Pace and Fox will be judged on. If BM doesn't produce the next three years this will look very good(with Geno Smith as the qb this could happen). IF they use the 8 mill a year to get a difference maker it will look even better.
  25. I get and agree with what you are saying but BM will be will still be a good wr for next three year and his cap hit does not get out of hand. At 7 for 2015 8 for 2016 8.5 for 2017 these are not bad cap hits for a wr of his caliber. Now if they take that money and lets say add 4 million a year to get Randall Cobb I would be extremely happy with that.
