I literally laughed when I saw this online. Releasing this or leaking this now is a freakin joke. They think this will settle Bear fans down. Do they really think this will make everything better????? I won't be happy until everyone from Ted on down is fired. Not that my happiness with the Bears matters.

NE struck gold by hiring Bill after Cleveland. Coaches learn from their mistakes, maybe Rex has too. The jets players love playing for him, that is one thing you need. Trestman may not have that.

Well George took over in 2011, lets hope George is different than the past McCaskey. If Ted is the one that has Georges ear we may be doomed, he is a bean counter if it's all about the dollars and cents then we may not see the change that needs to happen. What is Emery and Trestman owed for the rest of their contracts???IF the bottom dollar is the only thing that matters then we will see Emery and Trestman and Ted back next year.

Also another point on why drafting a LT is so important, it costs a lot more to pay for a LT through FA than drafting one. Two of the more expensive FA positions are LT and DE. We paid out the nose for Peppers (not saying I wouldn't want them to sign a Peppers type DE again). Drafting and developing our own LT and DE's will give the Bears more cap space to sign other players.

Im with Mongo here, if you have a great pass rush it will make the all the DB's look better. Also look at our rival the GB Packers, if you give Rodgers any amount of time he will pick you apart, it wouldn't matter if we had 4 Derrell Revis's. You give Rodgers time its over. If you want to beat the Packers and every other team you have to get after the QB. Hopefully there are some decent LB's or DB's on the FA market this year, the Bears will have some cap space to sign some players, address those two needs before the draft.

I am all for BPA especially if its a LT. One thing that could make the Offense better next year would be a great oline. Look at Dallas, they fixed the oline and now they are running all over everyone and winning a lot of games. You make our running game better you will make our pass game better. The run sets up the pass and with a great oline you can give Cutler all the time in the world to pass.

Listening to Chicago sports talk today, they went on and on about how the Bears upper management will prolly not fire Ted, Emery or Trestman. Most likely Tucker and DeCamlis will be fired and that's it. If the Bears happen to lose the last 4 games in the same fashion as the last two how could George not fire everyone.

The more I look at the situation the Bears are in the more I think George has to fire Ted, hire a new President and let him decide on who stays and who goes. This most likely means Emery and Trestman would be gone too. Its tough to think this is route that needs to go with the talent we have on the Bears Offensive side but Ted has not led us in the right area.

If you don't have an Elite QB the only way you are going to win the SB is if you have a Top Tier Defense. Out of the last however many SB winners only two or three teams won without an Elite QB. 1. Seahawks= Wilson good QB(may end up being elite)= great D 2. Ravens w/ Flacco = great D 3. Ravens w/ Dilfer= top 5 D in the history of the NFL if I remember correctly Other than that I think every winner over the last 20 years has had an Elite QB I may have missed a team or two but you get the point. Stability is key for a franchise. One of the reasons I expected so much from the Offense this year. The second year in the same system. Why is Drew, Aaron, Tom, Manning so good year in and year out....well one of the reasons is the same the system.

I was watching an interview with Mike McCarthy about something. He went into answer a question about something..... He did say that he lets Ted do the drafting and signing of players, he said something along the lines of he wouldn't have enough time to do any of that. He is paid to coach and that he was already busy enough. Maybe part of the reason the Bears are where they are now is because Lovie should not have been making draft picks or FA signings. Who knows how much control LA and Lovie had between the two of them. George should fire Ted Phillips and hire a new CEO/President. Since 1999(not that we had won one in the 90's either) the Bears have not won a SB. end of story. They gave Lovie 9 years. Ted Phillips does not deserve any more time. He should be held accountable for the product on the field. Its been the same shit year in and year out. Lovie was held accountable for his record, Ted should too. 99= 6-10 00= 5-11 01= 13-3 Div loss 02= 4-12 03= 7-9 04= 5-11 05= 11-5 Div loss 06=13-3 SuperBowl loss 07= 7-9 08= 9-7 09= 7-9 10= 11-5 NFC Championship loss 11= 8-8 12= 10-6 13= 8-8 14= 5-7 right now. we know where this is going Under Ted Phillips the Bears are 129-123. How does he still have a job? 15 years and 4 trips to the playoffs. In the same 15 years the Packers have been to the playoffs 10 times winning one SB. In the 7 years Murphy has been in charge of the Packers they have been in the playoffs 5 times. Ted Thompson has been the GM for 9 years, just goes to show you how important the GM position really is. Having just looked this shit up I'm even more pissed off. I didn't think that could happen.

Thanks for the input. I am not as familiar with the Ravens and Pitts and NE. I have read that Decosta and Ozzie are two great guys running the Ravens. Many here had talked about trying to get Decosta when they were searching for a GM when Emery got hired.

Ravens Owner Biscotti President - Cass GM- Ozzie As Alaskan said, Ozzie is the guy in charge. Ozzie has kept the Ravens at a high level of the NFL for years. I don't think anyone questions who is making the calls here.

I'm starting with the GB Fudge Packers. Only because in 2005 with the number 4 or 5 pick the Bears selected Cedric Benson and with the 24th pick that same year GB picked Aaron Rodgers. Man, look at difference one draft pick can make. President is Mark Murphy, but he also has an executive committee. Not sure if Mark Murphy has final say but I like the idea of a committee. Below them is the GM Ted Thompson. He is in control of everything personnel wise, and coaching staff wise. McCarthy has gone on record that he has nothing to do with the roster. He is paid to coach whatever roster is put in front of him GB has built their team through the draft. Ted Thompson has been given a lot of credit for his. If you look at this franchise you know who is responsible for what. It would be easy to hold someone accountable. 1. Mark Murphy and the committee are the top 2. Ted Thompson answers to them 3. McCarthy answers to Ted. Holding people accountable is very crucial. Is McCaskey (Chairman on top) with Ted Phillips (President and CEO) in charge and answering to him and does Emery answer to him? Ted does have the title of CEO/President. So Im going to go with him running the whole show. George was put in place in 2011. So Im only going to hold him accountable from then on. The only constant from before then is Ted Phillips, he has been the CEO since 1999. If Ted Phillips is the one calling all the shots then lets look at what he has done 1. Hired JA= which hind sight is always 20/20 was a bad move 2. Waited too long to fire JA 3. Hired Emery = if Trestman (this is if Emery had total control of who was hired) was the wrong hire then you have to look at Emery being the wrong hire too JA did hire Lovie and Lovie was a good coach(this is going on the idea that JA hired Lovie and not Ted). I think Lovie should have been fired earlier than he was, because there was a GM change I will put this blame on Ted. The Goal in the NFL is to win a SB, since 1999 the Bears have been to one SB. The Bears once had a strong roster(heavy on the defensive side) that was driven into the ground by JA. This all happened under Ted Phillips watch. If Ted Phillips was in charge, he fired JA(a move that needed to be done) and hired Emery. Then Lovie was fired and Trestman was hired. The Bears have gotten worse. Ted Phillips does not have a football background. Maybe if he did he would have seen where the Bears where headed under JA. Maybe he would have seen where the NFL was going (pass happy) before everyone else. Mark Murphy does have a football background. Not saying this is the end all be all but its something to look at. Next up Im going to go over the Ravens front office.

I've been thinking about how we really don't know who's running the Bears. How is NE set up, you see Kraft on game day but is he hands off? GB what's their chain of command ? Baltimore how's theirs set up? Pittsburgh , are the Rooneys hands off?

Rex runs a 3-4. The Bears spent some money on 4-3 DE's last year. I don't see us going to a 3-4. Not saying Rex couldn't run a 4-3. When you know defense you know defense. Also if they keep Trestman and hire Ryan, Ryan could possibly take the team over, Jets players love playing for Rex. He has a huge personality. Imagine the power struggle that could develop. Ryan is exactly the opposite of what the Bears upper management would hire, which probably means he would be the right hire! lol

I would love to know if Ted Phillips is the guy in charge. Is he the one that hired Emery? or does McCaskey have the final decision. If McCaskey is the top guy that makes all the final calls then what does it matter if they fire Ted. The only reason to fire Ted is if McCaskey is giving up the control. If Ted is in control then they need to fire him. So the fire JA chants should have been fire Teddy chants a couple of years ago.

It all really depends on what is going on in the locker room and Halas Hall. Why is the offense so screwed up? Its clear they have talent. The D does not have then talent the Offense has. I do think Tucker needs to be replaced if Trestman is not fired. Is it Trestman or the players or is it Cutler??? If Trestman has lost the team then He needs to be fired at the end of this year. If is Cutler, then what does that say about Emery and Trestman. Who made the decision to sign him long term and so much money up front? Did Emery force Cutler on Trestman or was it Trestman saying Cutler is the guy???? I would really like to know who made the call on Cutler. IF its Trestman and Emery fires him and the whole staff then it will be a wake up call to everyone that shit better change. I could be on board with a couple of different options: 1. D and Special Teams coaches need to be fired. Then here is where I could go a couple of different routes: 1A. Keep Trestman and cut Cutler= that is if the problem is Cutler 1B. Keep Trestman and keep Cutler if Emery and Upper management believe in Trestman and Cutler is not the problem 1C. Fire Trestman and keep Cutler- that is if Trestman has lost the team and Trestman is the reason the Bears suck this bad 1D. Fire Trestman and get rid of Cutler and start from scratch- This would mean Emery has failed miserably and he needs to go too. Connorbear mentioned this route above I hope its not 1D, I really don't want to start a complete rebuild even tho that may be the route that needs to happen. I think if they were to fire the staff keeping Cutler for one year may give the Bears a chance to make a quicker turn around. Cutler shows flashes of greatness. He just cant do it week in and week out. Who knows maybe there is a coach that could get him to do it every week.

Great college QB, read he needs work with throwing motion and accuracy. If Trestman is still around I don't see them going for this type of QB. I'm with you tho, love watching him play
