  1. I watched a lot of his games in College. He doesn't throw the ball well, does not have a quick release and is not very accurate. I know I read somewhere that he worked on his release the last couple of years but that doesn't mean it did anything. TP likes to run before throw. The Bears don't need a runner, they need exactly what they had last year in JM. Having a running QB would be the last thing on my list. I would think they could find better qb that is closer to a JM type QB. All Im looking for in a backup QB is Quick release student of the game- can learn a system and read Defenses Accurate thrower doesn't need a cannon of an arm, we already have that!
  2. I did the prediction and got to the Bears and started looking for him and had to keep scrolling. I saw the 102 and was like wtf..... Im going to check where they have the DT from FSU ranked.
  3. If you go to NFL.com and go to the Draft central, you can predict the picks. They have all the guys ranked. Donald is 102 which I thought was strange.
  4. If he drops to the 5th or 6th I would be cool with the Bears taking him. Side note I was on NFL.com looking at their ranking. The Donald kid from Pit is ranked 102.... I thought he had jumped his draft stock up a lot higher then that.
  5. I like Shov, have watched a lot of games. Played in a 3-4 in college, have done zero research on if he would fit in a 4-3 or how he projects in the pro's. Just love the way he plays the game.
  6. Seems to be a dead issue, Bears not interested.
  7. Yes, Panic should be setting in. Not a fan. But if Tres is a QB whisperer then you never know.
  8. Too Bad that 3rd round draft pick Brian Hardin didn't pan out. I didn't like that pick, but after reading about him and seeing his test results. 6'3 225 Strong bench and fast I thought hey, maybe this will could work out. The guy had the size and speed. Thought 3rd round was a reach tho.

    Panic?

Sitting at 14 Emery will have 3 or 4 guys he would love to pick, maybe Donald is his favorite maybe not. There cant be one GM that would be in Panic mode if one player is off the board by their pick. Every draft has crazy things happen, you cant predict anything. Emery would be a fool to only target one guy and be in panic mode if that one guys is already taken. All it would mean is he agreed with whatever team took him before it got to his draft spot. Also the draft is graded by the entire draft not just the first round. If Emerys favorite guy is not there then Im sure he has a back up plan on who to take at the 14 and who to take later to fill all the needs. Look at the first draft, Takes Long, I want Alshon at that spot. Whats he do, trades up in the 2nd to make sure he got Alshon. If there is a guy he wants he make it happen if it doesnt cost the team too much.
  10. So thinking about the past two Emery drafts, was there any talk about Emery drafting SMC and Long???? I do not remember any talks about these two guys. I remember being like WHO THA freak??? I don't think there is any way to predict what Emery will do. He is very tight lipped about what he wants to do. IE the Jared Allen signing, no one knew what was going on, Jared said he didn't know half the time. I would think it would be a safe bet that if the kid from Pit was sitting there at 14 Emery would pull the trigger. I would like that pick, I think he is going to be a beast!
  11. Nice, Go D early and often in the draft maybe a C later on in the draft. If Emery can get two playermakers on D in the first two rounds I think the D could be a lot better.
  12. Hester I would have liked to see back to break the record. I would have liked to see the Bears at least see if they could match whatever offer he got. What he got from the Falcons I don't see them matching anyways so its a mute point. Melton from an article I read the Bears told him to go shop around and then come back to them and the Bears would talk. Melton stated that he didn't do business that way so he went out to the market and never talked with the Bears again. I do not blame the Bears for taking this approach. I think its a good approach, the guy blew his knee out while making 8 million last year. If he wanted to be a Bear he could have found out where his market was and went to the Bears to see if they could work a deal out. He chose to take the Bears out of the mix. Its a smart play on the Bears part, see what the market bears and then start negotiating.
  13. Another thing to note, im sure the Bears knew how bad the Knee really was. I know Url posted that he was training again and the knee was fine but that is a whole different story when it comes to practicing and playing a NFL season. I still hate Lovie for playing Url in that pointless game against Minny
  14. Great example with Farve... I believe they were wrong with what they did even tho he retired 14 times. That guy was responsible for GB's success for way 16 or 17 years. He had a greater impact than Url did for the Bears just because how important the QB position is. If JA had left the Bears with better depth Emery's job would be a whole lot easier when it comes to dealing with the again stars. I do believe they should have offered a better deal to Url.... I wondering if they viewed Url as a possible locker room cancer with Lovie being fired.
  15. Allen is a character. I think he is going to be a great addition to the Bears team.
  16. I wish Url got one more year. I thought the offer was bullshit. I think they could have offered the same they offer Tillman. Either way the current management is faced with the task of deciding when to move on from these great players we have loved for many years. This is not an easy task, it wouldn't have been easy for any management team. The Bears are doing what they feel is right to make this team better. Everything Emery has done has been to get this team better. JA really but this franchise behind, he set the D up but nothing for Depth or on the O. So far Emery has hit a homerun on offense, in two years mind you. I trust Emery and think he is on the right path. Until Emery screws up over and over (IE JA) I am on Team Emery. No GM will be perfect but if Emery continues to make moves Like he has Im a believer.

    New Mock

I hope you are right. He got better, still a little dumbfounded as to why he took such a step backwards.... Hopefully with an improved front line he can get back on track.
  18. I tend to lean towards the pick was more of a Lovie Pick. Giving Shea a chance to play this past year had to happen. He was a first round pick, there are plenty of guys with his size and speed that have been good to great at DE. They gave him a shot and it didn't turn out so they are moving him to OLB. I still think with some added strength he could have turned out ok at DE. Hopefully this move is a good move as I don't want another first round bust.
  19. Also read that he was due 10 mil this year and wanted to redo his contract already. Who knows how much he thinks he is worth.
  20. Right now it seems like the group they have is a team first group. Everyone seems to be buying in, pics on the net with all of them training together. Desean doesn't not seem like a team first guy. More of a ME guy. He is a talent but would he be a distractions? Maybe he learned some humility by being cut, maybe BM could teach him a something.
  21. I loved watching him play, bought two jerseys of his. One of my all time faves. I started disliking him not the player his last year when he said he didn't care about the fans. Now since he retired I have not liked one thing he has said. I do believe the Bears could have offered at least 3mil for one year and not the 2 mil. I would have liked to see him play one more year. Im willing to bet they didn't want him back because he would have been a locker room cancer because his boy Lovie was fired. This team looks to be Brandon and Jays, having Brian in the locker room last year would have stunted them taking over leadership. He needs to shut the freak up and drop his ego, he is not an NFL star anymore.
  22. I imagine he also knows that he is 30 year old and not 26 or 27 which is when Megatron signed his deal. Being realistic BM prolly wouldn't get a 100 million plus contract anywhere on the open market.
  23. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/post...about-extension When Emery made this deal I was excited but had a small bit of worry with him doing something stupid like in years past. All I can say he has turned into one of my favorite players!!! I couldn't have hoped for a Better Brandon Marshal!!!
  24. My uncle works in their accounting department. Ill ask him what everyone around the organization thinks about him. He is the one cutting these guys their checks every week!
