I would put Ratliff in as the starting NT with that front four. Thinking about it a little more, if I had to choose one out of the 3 I would go with Allen. Emery has said the draft is deep at CB and there are some DT that could play right away. If you have Allen and Houston on the ends the line could be pretty good or at least better than last year.

Signing Melton and Allen would make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Outlook wouldn't look so bad....CB and Safety and another D lineman in the first three rounds and the D could look a lot better!

With the way its shaping up Emery has to hit home runs in round 1-3........ I know its early but it doesn't look pretty on D right now. Perfect world= Melton, Tillman and Allen sign with us..... Dip into that Cutler fund to free up some space(not sure what the numbers would be to get this done, I know its unlikely). If that happened I would be pretty happy.

Would be open to a Peppers return for the right price, bust doesn't look good.

I put in Bold the guys that I think are at least proven vets. When I look at this depth chart it still looks really weak. We are short handed on all three levels, Line, Backers and DB's.

After sleeping on it Im pretty sick to my stomach..... The Great D we have watched for so many years is pretty much dismantled. Peppers being released and Tillman prolly not coming back has me twisted. I loved watching this D. It came to an end quicker then I thought it would. I hate to see Peppers go, I know it had to be done due to the 18. This move opened up money but made our D worse. Where are they spending that money??????? Im still undecided on Houston. They had to sign someone, god knows we have no one at the DE spot. The Bears have money to spend, why not make a run at a Safety. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!! If they are planning on signing Revis then I would see why you let Tillman go and not spend on other areas. I like the idea of Jared Allen. The guy still put up 12 sacks this past season. The Broncos sign TJ Ward and Talib???!!!!!!!!

Im pretty sure Ware is an OLB for a 3-4, completely different than a OLB in a 4-3. In the 4-3 he was a DE. We cant get rid of Briggs when healthy he is still productive.

I think teams are not allowed to discuss the terms until FA begins. I don't think there are any rules for the Agents of the players to not leak the info. I would think they are the ones leaking the info, way to drive the price up if any other team wants to up the offer.

Houston is listed as a DE, but it says he played DT somewhere else. at 6'3 300 I would think he is built more like a DT. I liked Johnson coming out of GT, hope they can make a play at him. Wouldnt it be cheaper to sign him than Bennett?

I stopped saying the Bears are Cheaper a long time ago. When they signed Peppers I said I wouldn't say it anymore.
