  1. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/post...rlacher-limited I thought he was 100%. 100% to me means the knee is perfect. If he is having to ice and sit out that would lead me to believe that his knee is not 100%. I hurt my knee but needed surgery. My knee was never the same. I also hurt my knee another time that only required rehab. After rehab once I was 100% i never missed anything or had to ice. My knee was 100%. Hope his knee holds up this season Edit= Starting to get worried. Hope it is nothing.
  2. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/post...-dominant-force This has my hopes up. I really didnt like the first round pick. Im not saying he wont be good just not amped up about him. I really liked the Alshon pick tho. If he can be a threat this offense can be great. You got Cutler, the Beast, Forte as the center points. If Jeffrey and Hester can be used correctly the possibilities are endless. Im also a fan of Bennet, when Cutler was in there they made some great plays. Bennet was not seen after Cutler got hurt, hoping that was due to the O falling apart. Lets hope that the Oline with a new blocking scheme and guys healthy will be good enough, they dont have to be great but good enough to open holes for Forte and give Cutler some time to get the ball out to WR's. I have said this before, if the Bears are able to bridge the gap that will be seen on D with a great O they will have time to find new talent on D with the guys getting up there in age. Im hoping we get two more years out the D.
  3. Im so sick of Packer fans. They are a one dimensional Offense, with a D that gives up waaayyyy too many point and yards. QB Bears Packers Lions Cutler Rodger Stafford WR Bears Packers Lions Marshal Jennings Johnson Jeffrey Driver Burleson Hester Nelson Young Bennet Jones Broyles RB Bears Packers Lions Forte Starks Best Bush Leshour Smith QB goes to Packer, Bears, Det 1st String WR goes to Det, followed By the Bears then Packers RB- goes to Bears then DET and then Packers WR corp- goes to Packers, Bears, DET The Bears have as good a chance as the Packers and Lions do to win the NFC North.
  4. I did not see the Saints in a good position with the Brees deal. They have a black cloud over their heads right now. SP is out for the year, the last thing they needed is their best player holding out of camp and being pissed come season. The only thing they could do was sign him. He will be the only reason they have any type of chance at winning any games at all.
  5. Adding BM we now have we that is better than all of the Packers wr's. Only problem is Rodgers and company have the same system and starting 5 have been in that same system for 4 to 5 years. Their timing is on point. It will take the Bears awhile to get grooved. On paper the Bears we group could prolly beSt out everyone else especially if Knox was healthy.
  6. Did you watch those games????? Cutler still ran for his life. Cutler was always on the run each game. Remember the Saints game??? I didnt think Cutler would make it out of that game.
  7. I find this draft class very hard to grade. 1st round= a guy that had me thinking WTF??? There were some other guys I liked but that does not mean this guy wont be good. I like his speed at DE a 4.6 forty is great. Dwight Freeney is a 4.6 guy and does really well at 6'1 260. We will see. 2nd Round= I really liked this pick, i would give it an A. Pairing him with BM and Cutler could cause a lot of problems. We know the predraft bull crap and hope he has his head on straight. I think it is required to be a bit of a diva to be a great WR in the NFL lol 3rd round= another WTF pick. After reading about him and seeing that he is 6'3 220 and runs a 4.4 or a 4.38 at his pro day i kind of like this pick, could be a good SS. Not having any senior year tape to look at how do you grade him out??? 5th round= TE another WTF pick but after reading about his 4.5 speed and being compared to Herendez out of NE i kind of like this pick(still there were others i thought would have been better). Brady does pretty well with his TE's. Maybe we could see some interesting packages with him 6th and 7th=== i really do not think it changes a draft grade that much My biggest thing about this draft is the fact that everyone had Oline being a area of need and they didnt draft one, there were many guys at different picks that could have been good picks. How do the Bears feel that Oline is not a area of need????? I understand that Williams and Carmi are back from IR but does that really mean the Oline is going to be fixed? I hope the Bears know what they are doing in this area!
  8. Not saying that by playing at a smaller school they are not as good an option. I am saying a player at a big time school played against better comp which would lead to a better eval as to how they will perform against NFL talent. You cant argue it. One poster stated that Jeffery put up good numbers against the best Defenses (SEC) in college football. So if you make that statement you cant say it does not hold true when a player plays against lesser talent. it goes both ways The draft is all about looking at a Players size, strength, speed and football ability to project how good they will be at the next level. When a player plays against the top talent by playing in a big time conference you get a better look on how he will perform in the NFL. Im not saying a small time school player cant be great in the NFL, there are many that have. The numbers do side on the players coming out of the big time conferences tho. You wont see 5 to 10 players from the Mountain West drafted in the first two rounds. But you will see 5 or 6 drafted in the first two rounds from Alabama. That is one school in the SEC. There is a reason why 2012 is the first year that Boise State had a first round draft pick.
  9. His height, weight, speed and strength have already been tested. He is small for a DE, fast with a 4.6 but weak on the bench. I think you can agree he is no "freak of nature". Urlacher Combine result Shea Combine 6'4 258 6'3 260 forty 4.58 4.63 bench 27 reps 19 reps vert 34 31 shuttle 4.18 4.33 Urlacher coming out of college was faster, quicker and stronger while being the same size. Urlacher coming out having played Safety and returned punts was a freak of nature. Shea is not a freak by any means. A freak of nature in the DE world is Jevon Kearse or Mario Williams. I hope he turns out to be a Dwight Freeney type DE his size and speed are close to him. Like I stated before there are players coming out of smaller schools and divsions that turn out great. I hope he does as well.
  10. Thanks for the laugh...... I read a bunch about our 3rd round pick. If you look at his numbers it could be a great pick. 6'2 or 6'3 220 with a 4.4 forty(said 4.38 at his pro day). Not too shabby. Not playing 2011 sucks and there is not alot of film on the net. A strong safety at 6'3 220 that can run is a nice combo to have. Read that he is a big hitter too so who knows.
  11. What i am saying is using Urlacher to disregard playing in a weaker conf really is not a good comparison. Urlacher was a freak of nature at safety with his size and speed. Is Shea a freak of nature??? No he is not and he played in a weaker conf. The amount of guys that become stars out of weaker conf in the NFL is no where near the amount of stars coming out of the tougher ones. It is a fact. Jerry Rice and Walter Payton both came out of smaller schools so does it happen yes but i will say that playing DE is a whole lot different going up against Big Ten, SEC, BIG 12 and Pac 12 type OT's than Mountain West or Big East. Personal Experience I started out at CMU in the MAC conference and ended up playing in Division IAA at ISU and the difference between the OT's that I went up against at ISU from CMU was insane. Im sure the same goes for the MAC and Big ten. If you are a freak like Urlacher I dont care where you played.
  12. Do you really think you can compare this guy to Urlacher????? A 6'4 safety who has a neck bigger than your thigh that runs like a deer. Urlacher was a one in a million.
  13. Draft a guy that did not play because of an injury..... Sound like anyone we know?????? Shaking my head again
  14. I hope he gets his wish in the 3rd
  15. Real happy with this pick. Makes sense. Marshal Jeffery Bennett Hester Not bad WR Corp in my eyes! Hold up, I love it!!!!
  16. I will 100% back this guy. Doesnt stop me from shaking my head at the pick. It feels like a pick JA would have done so maybe Lovie has more say on who is picked than some think. Facts: Emery is paid to do this Emery has been doing this a long time Emery proved enough to get the GM job so must have a good track record Emery had many different options to either move up or down in the draft to get someone else or get more picks by moving down Emery had many different options of players that we all thought were good picks but picked this guy So we will have to trust that this guy is the real deal. I really hope he is. On to the 2nd round!!!!
  17. 2nd Round needs to be O, Cutler needs protection or another weapon. If a player drops on D that they cant pass up then i guess ok but i really think it needs to be O.
  18. I like going with production over a couple of years rather than a 1 year wonder but what i do not like is that production being against the teams that played Boise State. Boise State is all fine and dandy but they do not play against the best of the best every week. They play in a very week conference. I have not watched a lot of the Boise State games, does anyone know how he performed in the Bowl Games against the better teams??? Things that i like about this kid: Relentless High Motor 4.6 forty Lets face it, speed kills and if this guys is as quick and as fast as Dwight Freeney then Emery may have something here.
  19. Im not seeing MLB from this guy. OLB or DE yes but not MLB.
  20. Sorry to say. First reaction Puked. Thought about it.... Only thing that makes sense is....... Nothing makes sense.
  21. Draft him if he is still there deep in the draft.
  22. Here is to hoping Phil does a waaaaaayyyyyyy better job than JA. There is no control as to who is there at 19 but Phil controls who he does pick. That also goes for the 2nd round and 3rd round. I cant take another Dan Bazuin type pick. The Bears need to get a couple of guys who contribute now!!! He already got a WR, not saying another wouldnt be nice but who ever he picks they must be able to do more than Dan Bazuin did in the 2nd.
  23. In years past JA brought guys in to visit and never took them. Is that a common theme around the NFL? Wondering if Phil works the same way? I know an interview could turn them on or off depending how the interview goes. How much stock goes into bringing a guy into to interview? Also would you want to tip your hand which way you are leaning???? If you are 100% on taking a DT or DE would you want to let everyone else know by bringing in a bunch of DT or DE??? Then lets say a DE or DT is going to be there at 19 and everyone knows you are going DT or DE, another team wanting that DE or DT could then trade up in front of the Bears to take that DE or DT.
