  1. Mooney is a big disappointment but , if Fields stays , I tink think he may come back on a cheap deal. We can't ignore his 1000 yards season like he's not capable of being a good WR. He has a history with Fields. Was it you that brought up his injury? It definitely is either still a problem or made him worse.
  2. More reason to try to get MHJ. If you add him the rest of the room doesnt matter. DJ, MHJ, Scott, fill in the blanks.
  3. We just need to win out and let the dominos fall where they may. Playoffs were never an expectation before the season started
  4. Anyone listening to Dave Wannstedt on the SCORE this morning. He was very funny. Haugh was trying to stress the point that you cant go 2 yrs in a row with the #1 pick and not draft a QB. Dave's respond was no one wins a SB by winning the press conference.
  5. So many aspects go into being an elite QB in this league. Just look at all them drafted since Mahomes came into the league only a handful are considered elite. He has shown flashes but attitude matters. He was a #1 pick in the draft, be careful what you wish for. Williams numbers are great but his intangibles are questionable. Every move Poles makes has risk, I trust him to make the best move for the future of the Bears.
  6. I will grant you everything you stated but do you honestly think a rookie QB is going to respond more consistently? Would a rookie QB get us up 28-14? Fields had good and bad plays in both of those games. He is not an elite QB, I dont think anyone has said that but to assume a rookie QB will automatically be better is misguided. Poles needs to keep building the team, try and find a better QB and align whatever it takes to win games. Play calling also failed in prime situations , its just not one reason for failure. Parker has said it best in another thread about the best approach to the future, sometimes stepping back from the reality of the season gives you a better perspective.
  7. We will draft a QB just don't think it's at one . Keeping both Fields and a new QB makes the most sense. If Poles thinks Williams or Maye are elite, he will take them. Just haven't a clue how he grades them. He won't get caught up in hype, his job depends on it.
  8. Hopefully we still get the top pick. We were lucky last year but it's out of our hands. People are playing for their jobs, effort will be there and playing at home matters. Fans may want a tank but the team won't be doing that. You establish a winning culture by winning, losing sucks.
  9. Draft machines aren't very realistic but are fun. Daniels is going to be a top 10 pick. At least three are going high, it could be more, just not sure of what GMs actually think. If Poles trades back, I can see 6 or 7 top 100 players but 10 would be outstanding.
  10. We easily could lose these games or win them. It seems to always have a handful of plays that change a game. Murray was a high draft pick that was supposed to be great but never really got there consistently. Blame it on injuries, but no one considers him elite. QBs drafted high fail more than they become elite. Something to think about in taking a QB at one. We should win this game. Cleveland was a winnable game but defense matters. Rarely does anyone look good against them. AZ isn't special but still could keep it close.
  11. Well thought out post, can't disagree with anything you said. I think there is one misconception about Warren , people think he was hired to come in and take over complete control. He was hired to work on the stadium and he stated he wanted to get more involved in day to day operation. If you look at his bio , he has no experience in personal or day to day stuff. He was a lawyer that worked in a different area of the business. I think he gets more involved in those areas but that is a slow process. Nothing done with the stadium yet, he has is hands full.
  12. I have a girlfriend in Thailand that just turned 43. Nice try
  13. That is exactly the point Im making, mentioning spending winters in Thailand has nothing to do with this conversation but your brain is spinning out of control . The fact you actually think your bullshit bothers me is funny.
  14. Your the big scary boogie man that flips out or stupid shit. The more you press that your mr innocent the more I am going to rattle your cage. So actually do something you say once and just stop .
  15. Nice try is not a personal comment, but this is, you are psycho .
  16. You try to make a case on something that isnt true and that's being personal? you have no problem pointing things out and making worse comments . If NICE TRY is threating and personal to you , i am at a loss for words.
  17. That is not a personal attack, just look at anything you comment on, you go out of your way to try to make him look bad.
  18. The elite QBs are Mahomes, Burrow, Jackson ,Allen, maybe Herbert, Hurts , Prescott. Im not sure there is 10, some that may get there but definitely not yet.
  19. I agree with everything you said, we are in the building process , we are not there yet.
  20. Its okay not to like Fields and point out his faults, he has some but you seemed obsessed with trying to make him look bad. If he does something good, you try to twist it into looking bad. He hits a pass down field, and your comment is, he missed his first read. ( or something like that). I dont think Fields has a long future with us but everything you say is in absolutes, he will never get better, he held the ball to long on that throw, he doesnt throw in rhythm .Everything you complain about he has shown he can do, the problem is his consistency.
  21. So you are using the Browns game as your example that teams has adjusted to his running? His last 4 games was 30, Browns, then 58-59-104 before that. Those numbers are way above average for QBs. He is more cautious on his runs because as you have even said, he has to aware of constantly getting hit. He goes down when he could clearly get more yds on most of his carries. Its not that defenses have adjusted to him. The Browns are the best D in the league and that's your example. He is second only to Jackson in rushing in the league for QBs. Hurts should go ahead of him tonight. He missed 4 games and is third in the league. Nice try
  22. I agree with almost everything you said, my comment was, why do a lot of former QBs support Fields and mentioned Warner. It was in the form of a question , not a statement that Warner's opinion is absolute. When i try to form an opinion I view many and form my own copulation. I see his faults but am not yet in the mode of dump him, he's trash. First of all, he is still playing ,I figure I might as well do what Poles is doing and watch him play. The evaluation is not just if Justin is a SB QB, it has to do with the evaluation of the options in the draft. It still has to do with our drafting position. If Carolina wins a few more, Williams and Maye could not be an option. If in Poles opinion, the draft able QBs are more of a risk than bringing back Fields , he will do it. He's not changing QBs just to bring in a potential worse one for sake of change. Justin is not a top 5 QB but he is also not bottom 5 either. with good coaching he could be a capable QB. im not saying that means Poles thinks he's going to take us to a SB but he will bring someone in that might be capable of developing and keep Fields one more yr or trade him and go get Browning. No one knows what he is going to do so we keep our opinions until things happen.
  23. I agree with you on Warner he is a straight up guy. they have more experience to assess a player than we do, it doesnt mean they're always right . I dont think any of them getting paid for evaluations are just lying to everyone , people like that dont last long, its easy to tell if someone is not being honest. So i guess the one's that think Fields isnt any good are not to be believed anymore over the ones that like him. I plumbed for 50 yrs and one time argued with an inspector over a code issue. come to find out he was on the board that wrote the code. But stupid me thought I was smarter than him, experience matters.
