  1. Cardinals are struck with Murray, they dont get cap relief from his contract until 2027. There are lots of good WRs in this draft , they may also trade back because of needs. They could trade back get a OT and a WR in the second. The top 2 picks will be QBs and doubt we will keep the top spot and draft MHJ. Giants have Jones for at least one year if not 2. The big money controls these situations.
  2. Its fantasy but Crosby and Sweat? that could be very interesting.
  3. Seen a proposed trade of the #1 pick to LV for ( currently) 11, #42, #1 next year and Max Crosby. Would you do that trade knowing our pick wont be top 8?
  4. The city owns that property and the Bears are only going where they can have ownership of everything.
  5. I think some of the better organizations didnt keep flip flopping every 2 or 3 years looking for the light at the end of the tunnel. NE and Pitt comes to mine . they put the time in to build a roster and develop players .We have never did a complete rebuild since I have been a fan. Poles states he wants to build thru the draft, its not even been 2 years and some people want to burn everything down. I think 3-4 years is fair to see what his vision is. If he brings everyone back I would understand why he does that. The next 5 games will shine more light into his decision. No matter what you think of Fields , if Poles thinks there is an elite QB in this draft he will take him. If he doesnt then Justin will be around for another year. He can still build the roster and evaluate the coaching staff, Not sure his vision was fire the coach in 2 years. Poles, Flus, Getsy are all new in their jobs, it seems like they always just get compare to the dream scenario and not typical growth it takes to establish anything. Him and Cunningham came from good organizations, they will pull insight from how those teams were built.
  6. I think we are talking about elite QBs, the list you showed may have 10 in that group. Others are good but more 2nd tier. At least 6 were not earlier first round picks. The truth is it's hard to find an elite QB, better odds if you go early. We still have go back to who is the elite QB? Do we have the coaching and built roster to accommodate a high level prospect. Chances are we have 2 first round picks next year, also 2 2nd round picks. If Poles wants another year of continuity, we can still have a high first round even in if we have to trade. Nothing is set in stone.
  7. When we talk about drafting a QB high in the first round, isnt that where we drafted Fields? Doesnt the argument favor taking another year to see his development since that is where elite QBs come from? Or on the other hand does that prove drafting a QB high in the first round that they can bust in the same argument? I'm fine leaving that up to Poles to figure it out and what ever he decides I wont complain because it isnt what i wanted him to do.
  8. Lots of factors go into teams that win SBs. 2023 SB, great QB, great coach, above average talent. 2022 SB, good QB, great coach, above average talent. Anyone can say they won the SB because of a great QB but they also had great coaches and above average talent. Herbert is considered an elite QB , has he even been to the playoffs? Josh Allen is considered an elite and hasnt been in a SB yet. We dont have a great coach and a roster being built. If you know an elite QB is in the draft then it would be dumb not to take him but who is he? Williams, Maye ? Zach Wilson and Trey Lance were top 5 picks, they arent even starting QBs in the league. #1 we have to get the one of the top 2 picks to even consider that. #2 one of these QBs need to an elite, that's up to Poles to decide that #3 we do not have an elite coach #4 need a above average roster, we are not there yet. I think Poles will make the right decisions, its just sports talk until the end of the season to have any realistic opinion on our future. 5 games away. If we lose 5 games, its set in stone what to do, but what if we win out, the conversation changes.
  9. From year to year, different QBs have good and bad years. Goff, Cousins, Stafford, Prescott, Murray, are 2 nd tier QBs that have had good years. 1 st tier for now are Mahomes Allen, Herbert, Jackson are e!ite now. Hurts, Lawrence, Tua are trending that way but not there yet. Who did I miss?
  10. Winning is the ultimate measure of success and many things figure in to that scenario. Good coaching, team talent, and a good QB come into to play. The top 8 teams in the league right now starting QBs. Phil- pick 53 Balt-pick 32 Dallas- pick 135 Detriot-pick 1 Miami- pick 5 SF-pick 232 Jaguars-pick 1 KC-pick 10 Of these QBs only 2 were #1, 3 more were first round, 6 were 32 or later. Goff is not considered elite, Lawrence has yet to be given that status. You can find stats to make any point you want. More QBs are picked high because of the nature of the position , other rounds are never taken with the concept of being elite. If we go by the success rate of first round QBs then we probably should keep Fields, he was pick # 11. We should also pick a QB with one of our first round picks. Why not do both?
  11. Did you find a list of first round picks that failed? I'll try to find a list.
  12. When I say draft a QB, I'm not referring in the first round, that would say you want to move on from Fields. I think we trade back with the top pick and get a 2nd rounder to consider one prospect that clears the first round run on QBs. There could be a later pick that may have upside. Pratt, Ward, Milton, Sanders, a lot of other choices. When Purdy, Browning look like NFL QBs and people like Cousins, Hurts , Prescott, Wilson , Carr were not drafted in the first round, it's a possibility.
  13. Well I know a lady that can perform voodoo. I can contact her tomorrow, if you think it will help.
  14. If i remember doesnt Goff play bad in cold weather? just saying, he's not at home and it will be cold.
  15. I've been saying that for some time. Hedge your bet on Fields and also develop a QB in the process. I think that is the best situation for us to win going forward. Fields is smart and has a great attitude , no way his ego is crushed if you bring in another QB to compete. It may help him to become a better QB.
  16. Jake Browning had a great game. Went undrafted in 2019. This year is his first year on a roster. A player that worked hard and got better . QBs can be found other than the first round. Also giving time to grow can play at a high level . These are reasons you stick with a player and also don't use a #1 pick on a draft. This year we can go with Justin one more year and also draft a prospect. Hell Bagent may be that surprise player in a few years. Never count out players that work hard and have a desire to be great. The more shots you have a shot at the brass ring , the better the chance you get a winner. IMO Anyone that likes Browning , he is a FA this year, he would probably love a team that has questions at QB, where he does have the chance to start. That's not in Cincinnati .
  17. Seen this on X, what an idiot.
  18. Lawrence now hurt, 7 starters out for the year, Trevor doesnt look good. I think we need to have another QB in the wings with a rookie draftee plus Fields and throw in Bagent. Never enough QBs.
  19. I think our best option is what you suggest, if Fields fails ,you have his replacement in waiting. You always trade one or the other depending on success in 2024 or 25.
  20. I forgot about Sanders , I think Williams has the highest ceiling but also the highest bust rate. Intangibles matter, would rather take a risk on a lower talent than have a first pick bust.
  21. First, I wouldn't pay Young, to much of a injury risk plus don't think Poles ties that much money in DL. More so to draft one.
  22. QBs ( after the first 2 ) could go in any order. It just depends on the team. Someone choose Young over Stroud, someone choose Wilson, Lance over Fields, its amazing how GMs view prospects and fail. My order of preference is Daniels, Maye, McCarthy, Penix and Nix, in that order.
  23. The no call pass interference at the end of the game was fireable. 35 was dancing with Chiefs WR.
