Totally agree, they don't have an Internet connection while in prison? You have been missing.

That's the best I've seen the cap explained. The total has been all over the place. So 2 strong contracts left. I suspect center and DL. If we go Midland contracts , could be 3 center, DT and edge makes the most sense. I don't think it's going to be Dalman. He will be 12.5 to 15, and he not special just the best FA available. Since he haven't cut Bates, does that mean he's healthy ? Could be Bates, Stromberg and a rookie. The upgrade at OG will raise the play of the center.

It always comes down to money. Harold Landry just became available also. With a glutten of DL hitting the market, it should drive the price down.
-
Of course that's not all you go by but in NFL circles they list it important or otherwise it wouldn't be so lopsided towards longer arms.
-
Wait and see what the free agents get, we got better players and paid less . What I would to see is what RBs get with a deep RB room in the draft. 3 mil for a starter Javonta Williams or N Harris? A j Dillion?

More moves - Resigned Josh Blackwell and signed TE Durham Smythe

He's going to get more playing time. Not sure on Allen views everyone but JJ. Blackwell seems to have more playmakering ability than Terrell Smith and could backup at safety. -
Edmunds played well in Baltimore that got him the big contract. If they want they.can find money but now in 3 years they are going to have to deal with Caleb money. I don't think they want to move money down the road with contracts.
-
Just heard a podcast and with these new signings we now have 41 mil in cap space. The out rookie money 7, operating capital 7, we now have 27 mil and we haven't extended Gordon yet. We have one 10 mil signing left plus roster filler contracts. Can they play with contracts, yes but Poles doesn't like to move cost down the road .

More moves - Resigned Josh Blackwell and signed TE Durham Smythe

He still could be back, just didn't want to pay him 3.2 mil on the exclusive rights tag. He may not be a fit with Dennis Allen's defense. I heard Edmunds is a good fit and will shine under Allen. Remains to be seen. I think he blitzes a lot and Edmunds has the size. -
Heard a podcast with Matt Bowen who I like and he said that Thuney will raise the play of the whole line. He's a team leader and will command accountability. I think we bring a LT in but not at 10. We're putting our free agent assets in the OL so I think we improve the DL with 2 of our top picks . Now if they add a couple free agents on the DL, that changes the draft to best player available.

I would love Zabel but can we handle a 30 mil contract ,he's going to want an extension. If he was 26 I would more understand the move but he's 31. Instead of trade 10 just draft a DL and you still have 72 to add to the trenches. No for me. Since Bengals have signing issues with several players, sign Joseph Ossai, he's 25 and had 5.5 sacks that has upside and could sign for 5-7 a year. Matt Bowen brought his name up as a potential break out player.

I think that depends on how Johnson views Swift, his actions will dictate how he feels, no one knows yet.
-
It's just an opinion. There's exceptions to every statement. It's easily explained once he gets drafted. As one pundit put it, he can be a good LT or a great guard. I've only watched 2 games so you may have watched more tape than me. He's the best OL player in this draft suggested by almost everyone.
-
Could be, I still think Campbell ends up at OG , if you look at LTs in the league, there are only a few that are short armed . That leaves Banks, Membou and Simmons' as the OT prospects.
-
It's hard to build your DL and OL when your first pick is a RB. A mid round pick will get us a potential lead back without grabbing Jeanty. It's different if we have no one but Swift is not garbage. I just don't think they get a RB at 10 .
-
I seen where we are close to signing Durham Smythe/ TE that played with the dolphins. When he was drafted, Ben Johnson was the TE coach there. Very good blocker but has small offense potential. In 7 yrs, 123 catches.
-
Jeanty would be a great addition but would have to take him at 10 if we got that chance. Swift has 2 more years at 17 mil for both. Johnson has 2 more years left. I think they will fit Johnson's offense. We will draft a RB but I don't think until 72 or pick 145. This draft is deep and we can get a power back at one of those picks. Skattebo, Mullings, Martinez, and Ollie Gordon are all power backs and can be gotten 3 rd and beyond.
-
Right now we have 50 mil in cap. They extend Gordon that's 10 to 15 more gone. 35 mil. 8 mil for rookies and 7-10 for operating capital for the year. 20 mil. We need a center, and a couple DL at the low side. Plus backups. I don't think 20 mil is enough to be able to sign Dalman.
-
He's rated the middle of the first round and is still projected as a LT plus potentially guard. Has production at a major school.
-
Listen to a couple podcasts about Dalman and they were saying he's not a scheme fit for our offense. Sited that Lions centers were always big guys . Went back and looked at Ricky Stromberg draft profile when drafted. He was rated as a eventual starter. 6'4" 320. Was a top 100 pick in 2022. Was voted the top OL ( not just center) in the SEC as a senior. If he is now healthy, could he be the starter? One of his strengths is football IQ and running the OL schemes. It's worth a mention. He's rostered this year.
-
Can't wait to see X with all the bear journalists, go get Bosa. They jump on anyone who is available. ,
-
I hope they get a couple of trade backs lots of players between 20 and 50. I wonder if Carter falls because of his stress factor in his foot.
-
I'm sure they have a plan but not sure they are willing to pay Dalman 12-15 mil. That's a lot of money in the IOL.
-
If you look at quality OL, a lot of them are older and playing well. Zeitler, Trent Williams, Brandon Scherff and Ryan Kelly. I think we could have a solid Line for 3 yr stretch and add prospects to take over when ready.
-
If they sign Dalman, that means they will be drafting DL often in our first 4 picks. Maybe one OL that is multi positional, Zabel comes to mind. I think Poles adds a few extra picks with trade backs to add a RB and another OL. So 3 DLs, 2 OLs, and a WR and RB. Thuney is an ironman, he has 3-4 yrs left. I think we extent him . If Jackson stays healthy, we have him 2 more yrs. Braxton plays out his contract and Kiran takes over LT, this year or next. We have a solid OL for 2 to 3 yrs. Draft a couple OL for future and depth.
