Most big trades or paying FAs aren't worth it. That is one thing I like about Poles is not taking the risk involved in those kind of deals that th your team down for yrs to come. Even thou its going to take a few yrs. His FAs have been it and a miss but no one got a big contract.

Im not sure the regime is quite ready to go all in on being a top 5 pick just yet. In the long run a good pick would be more valued but if we can get a upset in one of the next two games, I think they still can reach 7-8 games that would look good at this stage of the season. I think the rebuild is positive, we lost 3 games on 3 players muffing their assignment. There is no guarantee that we would have won those games, but we would have definitely had a shot. The narrative would be different right now if we we 3-3 or 4-2 but it didnt happen. I think when we were a few plays away for a winning record that we are closer to a better team than being a top 5 pick.

I dont remember for sure but didnt everyone want Leno gone? I know I did. He can get all of the decent PFF numbers but the eye test said you wanted better. Now the problem with installing rookies at that position there is a learning curve that looks bad to. Unless you have a top 15 pick and put him at LT , they all look bad in their first year, we just dont get to see it. Many high picks havent looked good but people seem to just say (he's young) but hammer a late round pick mainly because he struggles. We have no idea if Jones will ever be good but he has a learning curb to , just need the eye test to see progress. I think the coaching staff just needs to chip and have help for him basically all the time which limits our O but I find it necessary. We will know by the end of the year, but Fields may not be QBing then because of injury. Not sure if the new lineup will be better, but you have to try something because the previous line up wasnt working.

The Rams seen like the one that goes all in to get back to SB. SF doesn't have any draft picks left after the McCaffrey trade. None of he contenders right now have a lot of cap space. Philly, Dallas, Chargers all have pass rushers in place. TB or GB , don't see that happening.

The way NE has played the last two weeks, its seems like a win for us is improbable but they have lost 3 times this yr so there is always a chance. The key will be if we can not turn the ball over and be able to run the ball. Their strength is rushing the ball , so if should be a low scoring game which we should be able to keep it close the whole game. I would say we win 17-13. In their 3 losses they turned the ball over 8 times. In two of the losses they run the ball well also but in the GB game they gave up 199 yards rushing.

Its very similar to the Von Miller trade the only difference is at the time of the trade Miller had 19 tackles and 4.5 sacks where this year Quinn has 7 tackles and 1 sack. So it would be risky for someone to trade for Quinn but with a late round pick , someone may take that chance. I dont see anyone giving a high pick for him, maybe a 5 th rounder.

The only situation where a team trades for him is if one of their pass rushers got hurt and it only cost a 6th or 7. Not sure who falls into that category. If they trade for him and cut him next yr they would be some dead money on their books. Not sure on that works.

How much will someone will value a player making 17 mil with one sack and 5 tackles?

In most drafts you are lucky to have 10-15 blue chip players. Not sure on that will play out in this years draft but if we have a high pick, I have no doubt, Poles will trade back for more picks.

I have been reading where people are getting on Mooney for not coming down when he first caught the ball at the goal line in the last game. If you watch the replay, he catches the ball but as he was coming down the WRs helmet was rising into the catch and displaced the ball. I dont think 95% of the WRs in the league would have caught that at first. He gained control as he hit the ground but was not in the end zone. The last two passes were spot on with Fields. Pettis had the ball in his hands the play before and didnt hang on. That was his fault. 4 times we were in the red zone and only scored 1 TD. Easily could have won that game but a misplaced fumble again lost it for it. At least they cut IS-M .

Adam started this thread on the concept that we have a top 10 pick (6 th) at the moment. I was reacting to picking the WR in the top 10. Personally I think we will be between 15-20 as far as picking him which he may fall into that value. He needs to get productive quickly to even be a first rounder.
