If Cluikshank is healthy, he can play that spot and put Gordon on the outside.
-
I do not get some of his decisions, it seemed like he looked at an open WR and then threw to a check down. His moving in the pocket, it looked like he could have stepped up and avoided a sack. He ran past the LOS, had to know that, and passed anyways, could have made a first down on the run.
-
So did Nagy wreak him or did he just not have it? I remember that 5 TD passing game against TB, I thought he would eventually get it.
-
Some of containment were the responsibility of a S or CB. They cited Gordon on several plays.
-
I think he has all the mental and physical tools to be a blue chip player. It just takes a little time. It seems like we have to be perfect to win but basically we just need to have more wins than fails in a game to win it. We could be 3-1 after playing lesser opponents in Hou and Giants.
-
I read where on those longs runs by GB whoever had outside responsibly didnt turn the play in and the LBs couldnt catch up chasing them going outside. Lots of missed tackles doesnt help.
-
Roquan is just not up to par yet, Gordon was constantly targeted, not sure what you mean when you say more involved. How do they fix the DT stops this year? I think Watts and Jones will be okay but not great. That's a draft pick away, not sure FAgency can fix that this year. Obunjobi only has 3 tackle assists so far this year. Almost all available players will be old guys.

We need the 17 games to make an honest opinion of his future going forward. In trying to access it game by game it wont play well.

The first game dont count because of the weather. The GB DC said they were going to take away Mooney and make the bears try to run the ball. To small of a sample size. The problem is the lack of offensive plays . After the scoring drive. We had 5 3 and outs. To have a balance attack you need to get first downs. If running the ball well then the play action works. We played a good defensive team that was not going to lose to go 0-2.

I think the noise factor came into play on some plays. Not everyone on same page . We are not good yet. This week will be telling as how we react to a loss. I think its a process and with all the young players it will just take time but for players to buy in we need to keep getting better. We have a chance to still go 3-1 to start and will have to see how that plays out. By the 5th week we will know how good we could be. -
I like that you highlight this but more so for the rest of the season comparison. Two games is a small sample. Re look at this after 4 games.

As far as the goal line call, he may have been in but if was not good vision to say it one way or the other. I think they opened in the shotgun to throw off the fact everyone at the stadium knew they were going to run. And did run. If it worked, no one says anything. Should they have given it to Monty, (yes) should they have rolled out with the FB sliding into the end zone and had an option. Everything is questioned if the play doesnt work. I would just have QB sneaked it over Jenkins. -

When we have a win we look at all the positives, when we lose , the bad juju shows. The young OTs are developing , good game bad game. DTs are weak spot , it showed up in their run game. The speed of the LBs showed but they didn't tackle them. Adams was terrible, try Sanborn that may be better at point of attack. Gordon may be good by the end of the season but he ain't there yet. Time and coaching will prevail. Lets see what the last 7 games look like instead of the first 7. -

I heard someone bring up Larry Ogunjobi's name this morning as far as being better against the run. In two games playing for Pit he has a total of 3 assisted tackles. Either he is not up to par because of his injury or he's not that good. Either way Poles appears to have made the right decision. Its just something we will have to address in the draft. -

We played a better team that was motivated after a terrible loss last week. We needed to be error free to have a chance in this game and we werent. If you keep it in perspective, if we scored at the goal line its 24-17. I think we still probably would have lost but with 8 minutes left down one TD is about all we could expect with so many mistakes. I seen effort at the end of the game but as PHX stated the defense was showing fatigue. I think this coaching team will focus on what it takes to be better. If we could have been running the ball that way more consistently at the beginning it would have stated we may have had a better chance. There were penalties that showed we have a ways to go with younger players. We need to involve a passing game more, a lack of consistent drives gave us less plays to have a more rounded game. I think when we play them at home, it will give us a better chance to win, the crowd noise caused a few mistakes, its a work in progress. This is the best running team we will face all yr with two good RBs. We were in place to make tackles but missed to many as the plays were executed, that's what good RBs will do for you. Gordon looked like a rookie out there today, which he is. I felt good about the play of Gipson and Justin Jones, they both showed up to play but to many plays were 6 yards down the field instead of blowing up the oline at the line of scrimmage. We can complain about the play of Mooney and Kmet but the truth is they arent being targeted very much because of the lack of consistent drives. Fields has a long way to go, I am waiting for his breakout game which isnt going to happen against a good team of which the Packers are. -
Its takes 3 or 4 weeks before you get a true reading on how teams will be. Hopefully we're 3-1 or 4-0. If we can be in games at the end, some TOs gets some unexpected wins. Like this week. Parody is live and well.

If Karma actually exists, beating GB will teach the National media to pay attention more. Also some of the beat writers are on the down side of expectations. There is some merit for low expectations, but I drink a lot of coolaid. -

Usually good teams don't lose two in a row, especially after they got their ass kicked. If we can get a couple TOs and keep them around 100 yds rushing, we could win. This ones going to be tough. If Fields steps up and we can run the ball, maybe. I think 27-23 hoping we wun. -
I think they are better than the national media projects them to be. For a GM to build thru the draft, it will be interesting to see how he spends 100 mil in FAgency. I suspect some of these cheaper players this year will earn more money as they become core players. If he doesn't overspend for FAs, who will be added?. I don't see him doing a Kirk contract, 17 mil for a #2 WR type. There is no high end WRs in f agency next year. juju or Lazard? That will be a draft pick. A few DTs and CBs but not a lot of stars. No LTs .it's going to be interesting.
-
He played 29 out of 68 snaps. Wait till he gains some experience. This could end up being Poles best pick this year.
-
I already did that and I realize that is a risky bet but I lots of times drink to much Bears coolaid. I won money on them last week, so at worst , it cancels out what I won.

I think with the way Nagy handled Justin last year, this is basically his rookie season. Im sure any great QB in his first and second yr took some hits on their future. He is a blue chip prospect and will continue to get better as he goes forward. I cant wait for the wow game where everything goes right for him. The coaching this year is so much better for teaching the game of football to a young team.
