If you look at the value system the NFL uses, it seems pretty realistic for what teams value by the picks already taken. 24 of there top 32 went in the first round. The only OL left in there top 40 is Brandon Raimann. Travis Jones the only DT. No WRs in top 40. I would say at 39 trade back a few and still will be able to get Pierce at the worst case scenario. Still a lot of QBs left , maybe we're in the sweet spot to get a good trade up for a QB. Only 1 gone so far.

Watson , Pickens and Moore will be gone before our pick. Hopefully that doesn't push Pierce up the board because he's not valued at 39 in the draft. 50 to 70 is his usual slotting. OLs are going off the board to. No Tyler Smith.

There going to take Watson.

Middle of round 1 and 6 WRs gone so far. I thought 8 would go before our pick, now I think 8 will go in first round.
-
I think our defense will be better than expected, still need to add but we have 3 pass rushers, A blue chip LB and a #1 CB. IF Jackson can be what he once was , we could be a 10-12 th ranked defense , so don't trade Quinn.

Every year people are drafted in the first round that don't live up to their draft spot. It's usually at a 50% clip. I don't think Olave will be a star. A started but not going to the pro bowl regularly. Maybe a Robert Woods comparison works. It would be nice to fill 5 spots of weakness with the draft. CB, SS, LB, DT but I would totally have no problem if they drafted 3 WRs and 3 OLs. Fix those spots and fill in with Free agents. If they draft well 2 WRs and 2 OLs then grab a couple of Def players. If they are smart, get some extra picks fix everything. This is going to be an interesting draft because we have no idea what Poles will do.
-
Getting a#1 WR is all I care about. Olave would be great but just not worth it. Poles who values draft picks will never do it. I can see him moving down and still getting the WR he targets this year. Didn't like any of those trade options.

For some reason, WR group always gets the worst character types. I think he will gone before our pick. Also don't think Watson makes it to 39. But I think Dotson drops, maybe Burks.

That's kinda like the season AROB had last year. At least AROB had a more consistent career to go by. As far as WRs, We need to draft our own and get the cheap contract for 4 yrs. Any WR available now are motivated by big contracts, we need to stay away from that.

Good points, never watched any tape on him just formed by opinions of others.

Ya I've seen big boards lately having Hall going before our pick. Started out in the 70s.Scouts have their boards built differently that the draft experts do . I hope we get a shot at him . Being able to play DE and the 3 T spot would fit well to this team. Will probably only be available at 39 I suspect.

I'm not sure they would target a RT only prospect. Most projected OTs played LT . if they have short arms they become OGs. So a Tyler Smith or Brandon Rainman are valued between 30 and 40.Smith could be moved inside.

I listened to a podcast with Matt Bowen. I have always found him to be insightful. He talked about Logan Hall as a target and perfect fit for the bears. Also liked Pierce and Tolbert for WRs. He said you need a boundary WR that can be physical enough to get you first downs. Pierce also has the speed to go deep. Said players like Sky Moore doesn't fit what the bears need. Possibly Bell as consolation if you miss speed guys. The talk with Logan Hall may put him in the first round but if at 39, you have to take. Also said need a OL early to fix this line. So I have already had to change. 39. Logan Hall/DT 48. Cole Strange/OG. Strange is valued as a late second early 3. 71. Alex Pierce, if Pierce is gone Jalen Tolbert. Get a speed guy in the 5th, Grey, Thornton, or Melton.

I don't think it's a good idea to trade Quinn or Monty. Now if teams are throwing 2 nds round picks, that's a different story. I think if you only get a 3 for Quinn and only a 4th for Monty, it's not worth it. If you get 2s, your adding starters on the cheap.
-
A lotta talk about trading Monty and Quinn on Twitter. My take is they are remaking the roster but calling it a rebuild means they don't think they can win. I think they don't view it that way. Mack has not been Mack for the last few years, so losing him is not as big a deal as it sounds. For not signing ARob, Pringle had more production than ARob did last year. If you want the existing players to buy into what their selling, you can't get rid of good players. Monty is a team leader and hard worker. People think a 3rd pick is more valuable than David playing this year. Offer him a team friendly contract after this year, you don't have to pay him big money. Quinn allows them to have Gipson and QMo to ascend without destroying the team. The Def is not going to be top 5 but I don't see them lower than top 15. The Flus concept is 7 to the ball and push TOs. That will bare better results than last year. The key to the season is getting the offense up to top 20 that will make us around a 500 team. If Fields takes a jump, a winning record. Quote Edit

I think the first 3 picks will be a starting OG, a X WR, and a contributing defensive player, DT or CB. The 5th and 6th round picks will be another WR and a developmental OT. If they get extra picks, they will address CB, SS, LB and pass rusher.
-
I have heard several so called experts have mentioned the top 5 are the only ones capable of day one starting (OT). Of course every year someone surprises them.
-
I would love that to happen. Green and Strange are both OGs. Strange can play OC but the more talent the better. A replacement for Whitehair next year and get rid of 14 mil cap hit. Someone I have heard a lot of positive stuff has been for Zack Tom. He has moved up the board to a 3rd or 4 th round. Another one to watch is Max Mitchell, Tom Thayer have mentioned him several times on All Access. They have several options in the third round .
-
Draft in a couple of days so who do we pick? I think one will be a trade back, not sure which one. So 39 Tyler Smith 48 Logan Hall 71 Alex Pierce.
-
Another thing to consider is drafting a OG that could end up replacing Whitehair in one year to get rid of that12.5 mil a yr contract. So I would be OK with multiple picks on the line..
-
If we take a OT that will need time to develop, he needs to play RG for a year while developing. I think early you take a Strange , Salyer, or Parham that couuld start right away at RG and then take a OT developmental prospect in the late rounds.
-
I've did it in snow covered intersections and wasn't even trying.
-
As long as they address OL and WR early and often I'll be happy. If Ogunjobi is sitting on the fence waiting to rehab his foot with a good chance of coming here, 3T will not need to be an early pick. I think Poles will fill in the defense with free agents if the draft doesn't give us any starters.
