  1. I hope we dont trade back if Carter, Anderson, or Murphy are there.
  2. I think they like B Jones and let that play out, they absolutely will take Jaylon Carter. Imagine him and another edge rusher. Imagine a 8-10 sack DT .
  3. I like all those names . I think he will spend the money on both a DL and OL. The rest will be middling contracts.
  4. Taco is interesting, but lacks production in his career. Adams is a good player and will contribute. I am more enamored by Reyes. This yr is about finding players that might be a core player going forward. WRs Mooney and Claypool are set but Harry, Pringle, ESB, and V Jones still have to prove they can be. OL The jury is still out on B Jones (my opinion) he will be starting next yr at LT. Whitehair and Jenkins are set at OGs. Patrick, Borom, and Leatherwood still have to prove themselves as starters. I think they bring vets in at OC and RT. RB I think they sign Monty to a team friendly deal. 4-25 with the last yr voidable. Ebner needs to prove himself. Herbert will be back. We still have a young (24) Darlington Evans on the PS. TE Kmet is starting to shine as the passing game progresses. I think Wesco and Chase Allen will be back to prove themselves going forward. In FA they will make two big signings and I think they will pay 2 vets on the OL to protect Justin. (Ethan Pocic and Jack Conklin sound good to me)
  5. I think all our games are going to be like the last two unless we can stop making critical mistakes and have a good refed game. We will score points and the defense will be shoddy. The difference for a victory will be TOs and a lack of mistakes. If we limit mistakes it will be 37-13, if not 31 -27.
  6. I think it was a good combo because Monty punished people when he runs and wears them down and then Herby would run by them. It give us a chance to see Ebner and maybe they give some reps to V Jones. Darrington Evans is still on the practice squad, he will be called up. They have one spot open right now.
  7. Its time to see if Ebner can play, otherwise, we will have to draft a new one. Here is a video on Reyes. You can just put him in as a situational pass rusher. He is extremely strong.
  8. There was only a few that got two yr deals. I found it interesting that he gave an UDFA a 3 yr deal Jack Sanborn. I will grant you its a cheap deal, but he must have seen something. He will end up being our MLB going forward. Think about it, in only his second start, 12 Ts, 2 TFL, and 2 sacks. Had a Int taken away from him over a penalty. He may be the reason they let Roquan get away.
  9. He added a bunch of maybes with limited cap space. Some are hits , some misses. Better way to do it than paying players like ARob a big contract and not have #1 WR production for it. He created cap space and IMO got us a few core players. Justin Jones, Armon Watts, Robinson, Morrow, Gordon, Brisker, B Jones, Jack Sanborn., Claypool. Still has the jury out on players like V Jones, J Carter, Wesco, Leatherwood, Matt Adams, N Harry, ESB, and Pringle. The second year will give us a better indication with a first round pick and 125 mil in cap space. As of now, I would give him a B+. If he hits on V Jones, Harry and Leatherwood, he gets an A+.
  10. I agree, with the cover two you need a pass rush. The play Johnson got the penalty, he hit the WR at the line of scrimmage which I dont think is normal for the Cover 2. Am I wrong about that? The D actual improved against the run. Williams and Swift are not a lousy pair. The D will get better as the frontline get more of a pass rush, whether you need to do that with blitzing or just the ends. One problem in this game is the Lions are a physical team (like us) and we are not use to that. It caused use to commit penalties, were out of sycn. Johnson didnt play well, he had some injury designation all week. I dont know if that affected him. Once again bad refs come into play again. They seem to be at critical times. I dont think this changes until we start winning and get them more in or favor. The Claypool call last week may have given us a victory or not but the penalties in this game took the win out of our hands. I didnt like losing to the Lions but the lost puts us closer to being able to draft Jaylon Carter that will transcend our Defense.
  11. I think every game he was learning and starting in the Wash game it started to show. Since then his confidence has been going up which is affecting his whole game. Now he goes for it. The pick 6 seem to be a stumble but he said afterwards, that will never happen again. I believe him.
  12. They deserved to lose this game. to many penalties missed X point Fields throwing a bad ball
  13. It was better they scored right away, now they have time to get a score.
  14. If you watch the replay of the penalty on Johnson, he never hit him in the head. Must be the crew from last week.
  15. Monty may not putting up big numbers but he is punishing the D.
  16. We may have the best offense in the league right now. Sanborn may be a starter for the future going forward in the middle. Morrow on the wing.
  17. Im saying 40 to 27 Bears today, feeling stupid enough to say that right now.
  18. You say you replace him but, draft a 3 rd round rookie to replace him? If you get a vet and cut AJac, he's costing you 9 mil + the new salary.. It will be 5 or 6 at the most not 18+ mil.
  19. If you can replace him with a vet that is as productive cheaper, of course. That hasnt presented itself yet. Why drop a good player for money when we have 125 mil in cap space? That is one more hole to fill.
  20. I think from here going forward its about being in the playoff hunt next year not to keep tearing down. Cap space is not an issue so we should keep him. Flus valves TOs and he leads the team. He's not going anywhere.
  21. If we go by Poles first yr of being GM, he will target a few big signings and then resign who he sees as core players. In the draft he will go with BPA early and trade back later for more picks. He said he will build by the draft and dont see him changing in only his second yr. My choices (barring tags) Orlando Brown LT with a young OL, I think he will solidify the line with vets instead of more draft picks Ethan Pocic OC same as above Bobby Okereke WLB ties to Flus coming from a failing team He resigns Monty (team friendly deal) Morrow- proved value Armon Watts - good rotational player Tevor Wesco - cheap contributor N'Keal Harry - will show value going forward He extends Claypool and Mooney This is from a PFN draft simulator 9. Bryan Bresee DT Clemson 57. Tyree Wilson EDGE Texas Tech 70. Rashee Rice WR SMU 105. Luke Musgrave TE Oregon State 131. Mazi Smith DT Michigan 141. Riley Moss CB Iowa 156. Jammie Robinson /FS/ Florida ST
  22. I became a Bears fan watching Dick and Gale in the late 60s, not sure if that makes me the oldest Bear fan on here but I endured the yrs with great Ds and good RBs. It is nice to be on the precipice of a great QB. Not sure if that ends up winning us a SB but if will be an entertaining ride.
  23. Lots of people make predictions but you never hear from them when it don't happen. I originally thought we could win 9 or 10 games but I'm not going to bring that up when we go 6-11.
  24. I think before people start stealing our coaches , they probably need to stack some wins. Getsy seems like he could be a future head coach but doubt if its this yr if we continue to lose. If we went 6-2 it may make people notice.
  25. If Dd'Ron Payne doesnt get tagged, we should target him. I personally would like if we get Elgton Jenkins and Ethan Pocic and set our OL for the next 5 yrs.
