If we are rolling the dice, he is a good option. I seen a tweet from Tarik Cohen and he talked to GM and Nagy and he said he is not going anywhere. I would prefer Carr but not sure he is going anywhere. Why would Gruden go in the season with the 17th pick or Mariota at QB? Carr has cap hits of 22 and 19 mil in the next two years. I dont think Watson is going anywhere either, so LV wont be able to get him.

I just seen Cohen's name mentioned also. I wouldn't do this trade but I'm not Pace. Maybe it works.
-
I just heard the deal for Carson might include a first, Foles and another offensive player. I'm thinking Miller.

With NY stating the correct salary we would pay, this would be a favorable trade if we can get him with not giving up to much. Since it is reported we have the highest offer, I suspect its our first round pick and a future pick. Is that worth it? They are going for it this year so this seems like a move they would make. With a second and third round pick , we should be able to get a OT and WR that can play this year. I think this move would mean we franchise AROB and probably keep Leno with Massie being odd man out. This would mean Hicks would probably be gone also.

I stand corrected, anyone getting Wentz cost for the rest of his contract would be cap figures on his contract of $25.4 million, $22 million, $25 million, and $26 million. The Eagles have to pay his prorated bonuses. Besides the cost is also what draft capital we must spend on the trade. Sports injury predictor suggests he has a 83% chance of injury going forward and a 10.5% chance of in any one game. Jan 5, 2020 NFL Head Cranial Concussion Grade 1 Carson suffered a concussion in the team's Wild Card playoff loss to the Seahawks in the first quarter. Oct 11, 2018 NFL Back Vertebral Fracture Exact date of injury is unknown, but Wentz's back trouble dates back to October. He missed the final 3 games of the year but avoided surgery. Dec 10, 2017 NFL Knee ACL Tear Grade 3 Wentz departed in the 2nd quarter with a torn ACL He returned for Week 3 of the 2018 season. Dec 10, 2017 NFL Knee LCL Tear Grade 3 Wentz departed in the 2nd quarter with a torn LCL. He returned for Week 3 of the 2018 season. Aug 11, 2016 NFL Chest Rib Fracture Wentz suffered a hairline fracture in his ribs against Tampa Bay. Oct 17, 2015 Non-NFL Hand Wrist Fracture Wentz broke a bone in his throwing wrist that required surgery.

There is only 6 teams with over 30 mil in cap space. NE, Cinn, Jets, Colts , Washington. NE, Colts, and Washington are the only decent teams that would make a move like that. Wash has Chase Young, so they are out. NE needs a QB so they will be spending their money on a QB signing. Colts are the only team in the position to do it and they need a QB. They are not spending money on a QB and then adding a 26 mil contract on a player that isnt living up to his paycheck.
-
ITs literally isnt going to happen. Just rumor. His cost is an average of 33 mil for the next 4 years. Coming off his worst season with injury history. You would have to be dumb to get him. Well Pace might. Foles played better than he did last year and he is under contract.
-
We all can agree, he made a career ending bad choice, except he works for the Bears. All of these trade scenarios have odds of 1% any would work out unless Pace over pays. Something that would not be good for this team. The only think I would do is a 1st round for Carr that has two inexpensive years on his contract or trade for a Gardner Minshew making the minimum and probably be gotten for a 3rd at the worst. Try to sign Winston or just draft one and go with Foles until he's ready.
-
I have been watching the Bears since the late 60s, been so many lean years its hard to count. This is a mediocre team but has many moments of being entertaining. I can just hope for the best and be happy when they win and be in a shitty mood when they lose. They will draft a QB but , in the first round, their is only 4 worthy of the 20th pick. The next few are 2nd and 3rd round picks. If we take one of them at one, that is a bad plan. IF we strengthen the OL, it makes whoever is QBing job much easier. I think Foles will end up being the starter and hope they have the chance to grab a top 4 QB. Otherwise with all these scenarios, most are unrealistic. I think maybe trying to acquire a cheap option, like a Gardner Mishew would add some intrigue to the mix and go from there.
-
Totally agree, the will surprise us for good or bad.
-
I think in the league , Pace would be considered average at his job. He has missed on most of his first rounders but have hit on mid round picks. Mooney, Nichols, Cohen, EJAC, Amos, and Howard. Almost all of his 2nd and third rounds picks have stuck. The last three years everyone but Kennith Whyte has made the team.
-
I hate to say this, but I think they pick a QB in the first round, bring in a OL in the second and WR in the third. That would probably mean Leno would be back and the rookie would play RT for this year and change to LT going forward.
-
They kept them here for a few reasons, they had a jacked up year with virus affecting the operation of the team. I think they decided because this year will be more of the same, so why not ride the cost for one more year instead of starting over. Other owners have income from other sources but the Bears is their only source of income. I doubt they lost money but they definitely lost profit which is actually losing money. George clearly likes both Nagy and Pace, the last three years looks better than the did since we last had a winner. He is accepting mediocre. I think we needed to blow it up, but maybe we luck out and get a QB and the new D coach gets the D back to top of the league. ESPN is just a opinion article that isnt telling us anything we dont already know, its a uphill battle. IF they can find a QB that can be better than Foles or MT was last year IF the D returns to top 5 with Desir IF we can find the money to tag AROB and still add the OL upgrade Maybe we can have a winning record for next year. Odds are slim to none if I was betting.

As much as Pace will check out all the QB options, the truth is we dont have high enough picks or cap space to take on big contracts. Jets, Miami and NE have better options for trades than we do. I think they need to try to figure out a Tannehill type of player than wont cost to much. Is there any even out there? Jacoby Brissett Tyrod Taylor Ryan Fritzpatrick Jamis Winston Nick Mullens Taylor Heinicke Cam Newton Andy Dalton Winston probably stays in NO, Brissett is probably MT 2, maybe take a shot on Heinicke? He actually was in our camp in the past and we didnt keep him. The out of the box thought for me is with Lawrence going to the Jags, would you trade a 3rd round pick for Minshew? I think he would have some upside? How much would he cost.
-
When you look at first round draft picks, it excites fans, but if this move improves the Rams who would have picked 25th this year, they will be picking in the last 4 first round picks. So essentially you're getting a 2nd round pick. A very good pick, but usually every year there is 10-15 blue chip players and those are the gold picks. Good organizations would use those picks to get starters, but anything here that suggests Lions take advantage of those picks? I will have to wait to see how that works out. After the Golfs trade they are below the cap w/o the lower cap number, so I see it as a move sideways move than forward. They only have one extra pick this year in the third. They will probably draft a QB at #1, plus they will need some WRs since almost all of them become FAs. I see them being bad for the next few years which is good for us.
-
The league isnt endorsing this, every year as you said , artist put out new designs. Teams individually have changed their uniforms, not as a league mandate. The NFL just throws it out there.
-
We have Foles and a draft pick which likely will be the first round. Maybe if Garopollo gets cut, we have a chance, if they deem that a option. My thought with Jags drafting Lawrence , maybe Minshew would be available ? That is someone you could get fairly cheap. We need to have two options other than Foles this year. Foles-Minshew-draft pick.
-
MT is an free agent, so he doesnt fit anywhere. I like this trade and it fits under our cap restrains this year. This would be the best haul for the Texans, the only thing we dont know is how much value the Dolphins place on Tua. If they like him, they dont need to waste any draft capital.
-
As of right now we are 10.6 mil in the hole with our cap which is listed at 190 mil. There is a chance that drops another 10 mil which puts us at 20.5 mi. Our biggest cap saving are Fuller-11, Hicks-10.5, Graham 7, Leno 6.5, Massie 5.4, and Skine 2.7. Skine , Massie, and Graham are surely gone. 15.1 in savings. That probably doesnt even get us even with the cap. I think because of Hicks injuries and age , he gets cut. Another 10.5 (cap at +5.1) We could restructure a few contracts Mack, Foles, Goldman, Whitehair, Fuller, and Jackson. Which at best could get us another 10 mil. Cap 15.1 mil. We need to resign some of our own FAs. O'Donell, Santos, T. Gibson, and Bush that would be above the vet min. - 5 mil from the cap. Rookie pool 5 mil. If we franchise AROB, -18 mil. Cap would be 13 mil in the hole. How is any of this even going to work? Even if I am off with the contract restructuring we have big problems.
-
For the money we are going to have to pay for a Golladay, we would franchise AROB. The only other good WR out there that is young is Corey Davis and he will command to much money. Marvin Jones, A J Green, Watson, Hilton, are either to old or not a good injury history. We will have to go with a secondary player with some upside but our best option is AROB on a tag.
-
The potential QB candidates for trade are Watson-Stafford-Wentz-Goff-Ryan-Garoppolo. Ryan-Wentz-Goff carry large dead money hits for the teams trading them that would make it impossible to trade. 44 mil cap hit-59 mil cap hit-65 mil cap hit respectively. Watson-Stafford-Garoppolo are user friendly. 5.6 mil hit-19 mil hit-2.8 hit respectively. So if we trade for anyone it would be out of these three. Watson will choose his own fate and has better options than coming here. Lions will probably never trade within the division. Garoppolo is our best option if he is cut. His salary is to high for any team to trade for him because of his injury history, 25.5 mil in 2021. I doubt we would want him unless for a team friendly contract and we would still draft a QB.
-
If they go for it, they will try to acquire Watson but they will only trade a player to help get Watson, not be trading their stars that they will need to win with. Mack is untradeable anyways. Like NY said, we have to eat his bonus cap hit which would devastate any potential cap space. NE, Colts, and Washington are the only winning teams with cap space to take on Watson, also stable front offices.
-
With Pace and Nagy on the hot seat for one more year, they are going all in , not rebuilding. They will franchise AROB, try to upgrade the QB position, hopefully upgrade the OL and keep as many pieces on D that they can and still function under the cap.
-
Pace would be the one negotiating with Watson to come here. Why would he tell Watson that he can pick the new GM and coach if we fail? Didnt Houston say that and then screwed him over?
-
You're right, so if he holds the cards, why would he choose here? Unstable front office. Probably AROB gone, poor OL. lack of cap and draft capital to get better.
