    OTA updates

They resigned Acho, I think that could mean he sticks around because of his STs play, and Jones could be odd man out. In them trying to sign Young to a long term deal, would tell me Houston is valved less.
  2. He keeps his habit of being anti Fox, he will find himself gone after this year. Fox wants team players here and he follows the same path as Marshall and Bennett with the meme attitude. Now if he has a stellar year, that will benefit him but headed down the wrong rode with staying away. If he has a good year, will deserve the money,if not he will be losing his ground on a great contract.

    OTA updates

I think if he has such a good talent level, he would already have been elevated to a better spot on the team, he is on his way out. He just didnt show enough to project him to the 53 man roster. Being moved to the outside only seals his fate, to many bodies there for him to make the team.
  4. It seems silly for this to take this long to sign a contract when the pricing is already determined, but I suspect the last year of the deal can delay the end when they may not agree on the option 5th year. Well now on to the pud Jeffery for the final piece of the puzzle to be finished. He is making almost 15 mil and that isnt good enough for a place to start, I just dont get it.
  5. Something I am surprised with, thought he was on the chopping block. You never know what the Bears are thinking, they are definitely capable of surprising you.
  6. Fangio was in on the pick, so he is smarter than I am, I am sure he will do well by him.
  7. Him and Floyd were considered the top two edge rushers, we made the right choice there.
  8. I think they down play it, but Im sure playing at 250 would be better than 235 as far as staying healthier for the whole season. I think this year he will be in passing downs as a situational pass rusher and not much else, although they say there in the nickel package 60 to 70% of the time.
  9. Odds are slim, but speed is paramount. If it comes down to keeping a 6th WR that is our PR and KR guy, he may get the nod over the other two.
  10. they signed him to a 3 year contract, so it may be more than interesting.
  11. Im curious what he tops out at 310? I dont remember exactly but I thought he was 300 at the combine and then played last year at 295? Anybody remember?
  12. It is hard to gauge from the first to the second year in a new regime, someone may have worked harder to get better than someone else and the least you can say about this coaching staff, they aint afraid to play anybody, no matter where you came from.
  13. At worst who ever gets that spot, they will push each other to get better. Fox is big on speed, does that mean Perry may bet the call? He is both different from Carey and Rodgers.

    new TE

What i like is there trying different different ways to find players. You figure maybe 1 out of 10 make a nfl eosyer. There is actually more udfas on rosters than first round picks. You need to keep throwing datrs at the board until one sticks. Thats how Seattle became good, they tons of transactions until they got a good team. Plus we seem to have coaches that can develop players

    new TE

Shit I forget to list his name, Greg Scuggs

    new TE

We have a defensive lineman changing positions to TE, already on our roster. Greg Scruggs I would suspect at 6-3 310 lbs, he will become our blocking TE and probably will lose a few pounds.
  17. I read an article about what vets are the next to go for the Bears. It is apparent that this team is bullish on getting younger as we were one of the oldest teams in the league. The article listed 5 vets who seem destined to be the next players to be cut. Corn Washington ---he has been around 3 years and you rarely here his name. He has measurable s but has shown very little since being a Bear. Suttons body doesnt fit the scheme but is more productive over his time here. Marq Wilson----- I think he started to show some zing last year but with a healthy Royal and Bravemen being added, he could be let go. Christ Jones---- With Trevathan-Freeman-Wilson- Kwiatkoski being added, his days are numbered Lamar Houston----I think we end up keeping Houston but that would leave 5 OLBs with Acho-Young-McPhee-Floyd. I think Acho ends up being odd man out. J Rodgers--- I think Rodgers is the best blocking back on the roster and end up staying with Carey on the spot.
  18. So how this appears to play out Langford-Howard-Carey-Rodgers-Perry. So do we keep 4 RBs? I think we end up only keeping 3 and Carey could be odd man out. Howard fills that short yardage and change of pace roll. Also I think we end up keeping 4 TEs and I think that spot is taking one away from the RB numbers. I would hate to see Carey go but Rodgers plays a bigger role on STs
  19. Amos started as a rookie and it assumed he will continue as the starter at one spot, but who gets the other? Harold Jones-Quarty started the last 4 games and had some good moments and will be given the spot until one of the rookies unseat him. He had 25 Ts, 2 PD and one interception. Also a FF. Amos had 2 PDs and no interceptions in 16 games. I think Amos starts but will be in the box and Jones-Quarty starts at FS. The possibility exists that by the end of the year Bush could be our SS and Howard-Carson could be our FS. The thing we need on defense is playmakers and Amos didnt really provide that for us last year. Bush could take playing time away from Amos as the box safety and Howard-Carson could prove to be the best play maker in the back half of the defense if we go by his college play making performance. I think Amos won the starting job more by default than by actually earning the position. So by the end of the year, you will see Bush and Howard-Carson starting at our S spots. What say you?
  20. When you bring in good people to work, they get hired for other places, that will happen frequently with this regime.
  21. I dont see this regime as lagging behind in doing business, just think they have different approaches to how business is done.
  22. It shows how most smart people do well on grades and they also miss on some. Brown and Sanders are two examples and I am sure they were down graded because of size. Interesting.
  23. The one area we need drastic improvement in is turnovers. That is why addressing the pass rush was monument and why we moved up in the first round. I think Goldman, Hicks and Bullard address up front pressure much better that will be felt on the back end of the defense. Once Floyd is up to speed, you have McPhee and Floyd aiding the edge rush,Freeman also adds to some inside pressure, with not much from Trevathan. What it does most is give Fangio more options to expand his rush schemes. As far as TOs hopefully the extra pressure with have positive results.
  24. They will be better, but if expectations to high and it creates disappointments. I'll take a top 15 D. and be happy.
  25. Seen where SD drafted a center in the third round, so Matt may be a transitional player if the rookie has anything going for him. He should win a starter spot, but it won't be given to him.
