  1. Pundits keep trying to find something to talk about. Replace Santos? A better offense will produce more points in extra points. Over 50 is touch and go but I think more offense will put us in less long attempt FGs. Not yet.
  2. I think with Eric and BJ directing things, our RBs will shine. What big names succeeded in KC while Eric was there, he used reative unknowns and created a running game that got them to SBs. Everyone wants the Barkleys and Henrys but not many of those in the league. 2 years ago Swift was the 5 th rated RB in the league in Philly. Last yr he didnt shine is a dysfuncional offense with fired coaches and a rookie QB. The OL sucked but for some reason no one thinks that affected Swift and DJ. Its ranked 30th in the league as a group by PFF. Next year they will be ranked top 10 without a big name and no one will remember what PFF ranked them.
  3. If someone is not able to participate in TC, you really think someone is trading for him? I think not. I think they let him finish getting healthy and is the backup plan if Ozzy or Kiran cant handle the starting job. Say what you want about Braxton but a 3 yr vet with starting experience that was ranked 20th last year among all tackles is not a discard item at LT. He takes heat for all his weaknesses but no one mentions his run blocking ability and what got him to be ranked 20th among 142 Ts in the NFL. With Thuney next to him and a legitimate play caller, you can give him help to not be a noticable weakness on the starting 5. He is our floor, and we could do worst.
  4. A two time loser as a HC , how many of those got 3 HC jobs? If we arre successful , he will ride with that tide or just give him more money. Everyone likes that. We are slowly converting to an offensive team but have horses on the D. This will be interesting to see this play out.
  5. found this but no details. If he's not ready to go as training camp starts, he wont be starting LT at the begining of the season. Braxton Jones, the Chicago Bears' starting left tackle, is expected to be limited in training camp due to an ankle injury that required surgery after the 2024 season. While he's making progress in his recovery, he's unlikely to be at 100% when training camp begins, according to ProFootballRumors.com. The injury, a fractured ankle, occurred in a late-season game against the Detroit Lions. Details of the Injury and Recovery: Injury: Braxton Jones sustained a fractured ankle in a Week 16 game against the Detroit Lions, requiring surgery. Recovery: The surgery occurred in December 2024, and while Jones is reportedly on track with his recovery, he's not expected to be fully recovered by the start of training camp, according to ESPN. Training Camp Impact: The Bears' coaching staff anticipates Jones will be limited at the start of training camp, which could create an opportunity for other players to compete for the starting left tackle position.
  6. If he doesnt start playing in TC, the competition will move in front of him.
  7. Do not underestimate Monangai. He is 5'8" 211 but with a low center of gravity, he will be hard to tackle in the middle of the pack. He was productive against good talent in the Big 10. He was one of the best RBs in college in yards after contact, goods balance.
  8. I agree with that but it seems every year one suprise team bounces that no one expected. ( as far as top 7) I think CIN could be that type of suprise.
  9. Funny you bring this up, Im buying a new car.
  10. I agree with that if not 1000 yards a piece, one around 1100 and one around 900. I dont think Loveland and Burden will have large contributions in their first yr. Usually when rookies have great yrs its because the team lacks weapons and this team has 3 already in place and Zaccheaus was added. I would say Loveland around 500 and Kmet around 550. Burden should be over 400 yards but will have a high yardage reception total with 5 or 6 TDs. I expect Caleb to be around 4500 yards and 30 TDs on the season. Like you said most targets will be DJ Moore, Odunze, Kmet, Loveland, Burden and Zaccheaus. I expect Swift to contribute to the total but with a better line , Caleb will be able to get the down the field more consistantly.
  11. In DAs best yrs with NO as a DC, he had top 10 team in sacks but never led the league. He likes blitzing LBers and SC. He was Lovie like because they generated Ints and fumbles. He has only had one high end pass rusher that was in the teens during his good yrs. Cam Jordan was his main man. Several yrs he had between 8.5 up to 15.5 as a high. He likes to stunt the line and his defense is more about putting pressure on the offense that actually always high sack totals. His best yr in NO was 51, usually 45-50 range. Last year we had 40 sacks so dont expect a large bumb in sacks, its more about pressure and offenses making mistakes. If we can get 10 sacks out of Sweat, we will be in line for the 45-50 range of sacks. On paper we should be okay with putting pressure on the QB being he blitzes a lot. Hyppolite , Edmunds, Gordon, and Edwards will all contribute to the sack total. Jarrett, Dexter and Turner should add to the total.
  12. I agree, when Lovie was to involved in roster building, it seemed to start falling off. Of course 10-6 was his falling off. He only had 3 losing seasons.
  13. This is my opinion, so you can stop confusing my comments by injecting what you say I do. I THINK WE HAVE ADDED GREAT COACHING, BUILT UP THE ROSTER AND HAVE A QB THAT TAKES OFF THIS YEAR UNDER BJs PLAY CALLING. I HAVE NEVER SAID SB, OR PERFECT ROSTER, ALL THE CRAP YOU SAY I DO. I AM OPTIMISTIC THAT WE COULD HAVE A WINNING SEASON. (10 TO 12), I THINK WE HAVE ENOUGH TALENT AT RB, LT, AND DE TO GET US THRU THE SEASON. NOT CLAIMING DAYO OR BOOKER BECOMES 15 SACK GUYs. OZZY OR KIRAN IS PRO BOWL MATERIAL I DONT THINK WE HAVE TO HAVE ALL PROS AT EVERY POSITION TO BE GOOD THIS YEAR.
  14. Your response is typical PHX, on to the nex subject.
  15. This the current list of 2nd rounders that have signed and not signed. There will be a rush when training camps start. I dont see ours being early. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/draft/_/year/2025/round/2/sort/pick
  16. I understand the lack of commitment without more proof. IF you were refering to me, I have never said SB run. I too need to see us play bad to lower my expections instead of prove weaknesses have been filled. You need to read my posts, I have never said we are great, I think we are capable of being really good, but you keep putting words in my mouth, rooting for a team and notice positive changes is not fan crap. I am optimisic and see positive changes for the good, you always try to say I say things in extremes, perfect roster, SB contender, I never have. I love when you tell other people you respect their opinions when you disagree and then turn around and say other opinions are just silly. (This is the month of podcast hype, where people say things like "the roster is complete" and that's just silly.) That is just some guys opinion.
  17. I am a long time Bears fan so it would be so easy for me to say, (new coach-Dynamic QB-more talent) that they might be better but: Sitting on the fence means you're never wrong but I would rather go with my honest opinion and say we have a Perfect Storm brewing. I see a floor of 10 wins and a ceiling of 11-12 victories. Everything is not perfect but every year has some position that has doubts. LT and DE has questions but I think we have enough options to work out for us. To me RB has never been a weakness just because Swift had a mediorcre year. Rookie QB, shakey OL and bad coaching created his average yr.
  18. I view everything as improved and with a disaster that was last year, a few games could easily had a different outcome. To me we had a lot of talent last year that gave up on a coaching staff the last half of the season. This year I say they will have a winning record and I do need proof that I am wrong on my predication. Even with some lows and injuries, it still should happen.
