  1. I did and then they signed 3 IOL and it changed the conversation. I've never said Braxton is the goat and we don't need to draft anyone. My comments are related to Kiran A already being on the team and inline to take over if Braxton doesn't get better. I think they draft a true LT but just not in the first round. Jones leaves after this year, Kiran next up draftee gives him competition. Question, do you think whoever the LT is , they will play better with an all pro next to him?
  2. 1-10. Tyler Warren 2-39 trevon Henderson 2-41 Aireonte Ersery 3-72 Jack Sawyer 5-148 Jaylon Reed/ S 7-233 Cody Lindenberg/ LB 7-240 Kyonte Hamilton/DT I like a few other players better but would have no problem if this is where we ended up.
  3. You're entitled to your opinion, some people don't agree with you. I don't think the bears agree as a #10 LT pick is necessary. They will take a prospect to add competition. They had a starting LT that statistically is average. They drafted a 3 rd round pick last year to compete with Braxton. They will draft a 2 nd round LT prospect to mix in. Campbell and Membou probably aren't pro bowl types at LT. Banks can be a starter but how much better of a prospect is he over Kiran A? I could be totally in left field on this, but I think the bears don't prioritize LT with the prospects this year. The OL coach spoke yesterday and talked well of both LTs on the team and was asked about upgrading the position. He said the OTs positions are easier to give help with. WR, TE , RB for support but also said they are looking at OTs to draft. Does any of that sound like it's an emergency to get a LT? It doesn't to me.
  4. Needs: IOL, depth future starter OT, depth, competition at LT QB, none RB, duel back role starter WR, added depth, speed TE, depth #2 (weapon) DE, edge ( starter capable) DT, depth ( NT) starter capable LB, depth future starter CB, depth S, depth future starter Priority: DE - RB- LT- NT - S- WR- TE - LB 6 blue chip players: Hunter - Graham - Walker - Jeanty - Warren - Carter 2 top 10 QBS Ward and Sanders Next 6: Campbell - Membou - Banks - Golden - McMillan - Barron Next 6- S Stewart - Loveland -M Williams -Emmanwori- Nolen - Pierce If a blue chip player falls, they take him. That will determine the next 3 picks. Trade back extra 2nd round pick 5 top 72 picks for need. Top 100 big board OL: Campbell, Membou, Banks, Conerly, Ersery, Simmons , Grant, Belton, Pierce WR: Golden, jaylon Noel, Tai Fenton, Kyle Williams, Jalon Lane , Tre Harris RB: Jeanty, Hampton, Johnson, Henderson, Judkins, Skattebo, Brashard Smith TE: Warren, Loveland, Arroyo, Taylor, Ferguson , Conyers
  5. Are you describing a zone Def? The other teams were targeting the gap in the zone where the underneath guy passed responsbity to the down field zones. We are predominantly man this year and I expect the underneath players to engage WRs right away instead of letting WRs get to their routes. More aggressive,
  6. I agree with that so he drafted Kiran to give him competition. He wasn't supposed to see the field last year but he did. So now healthy he gets his shot. Wright was a top 10 pick, his last 2 yrs haven't been stellar but everyone thinks pro bowl potential. If we draft a rookie, automatically he will play well and we live happily ever after. The truth is, not very often do you get instant success with high draft picks. There are exceptions but usually they have to develop. I would be willing to bet Braxton has a better yr than the rookie we could have drafted to take his place.( I still think we are not taking one in the first round) Contract yr, has Kiran breathing down his neck. I expect to see improvement this year.
  7. You seem to focus in on a specific player and if we don't get that player it's a bad draft. Clearly if we don't take Banks, you will have comments to make. Now if we don't get CJ, I expect the same. I have wants to but I have many scenarios I would be happy with. Jeanty+ Judkins+ kJ+ Cam Skattebo+ Brashard Smith+ I also could see Jayden Blue as a late round take even with another RB, to use his speed in packages as a weapon I'm just not struck on one.
  8. DA talked yesterday about he liked Spider-Man playing some saftey. Tyranny Mathieu played that role for DA in NO and he was pretty good.
  9. I think KJ will be gone but we pick early in round 3, very possible Cam Skattebo could be there. Draft Buzz lists him as a 4th round pick. Several have him 3rd and lower.
  10. I think the argument could be made for anyone projected to be a first round pick could be our #10 pick. My first choice is to trade back.
  11. Jeanty is a given but the rest of the RB room is a debate. Hell RJ Harvey or Dylan Sampson could end up being real good. It's not always the obvious choice. I'll hang my hat on Cam Skattebo.
  12. We all have our opinion and people we think would be best for the team. I think whoever they take at 10 needs to be special, not just a player that becomes a NFL starter. Braxton was an NFL starter day one and was a fifth round pick. Pundits are pretty consistent with 6 all pro player types available in the draft. A few say 8 and of course a few could surprise but I think if we get the chance, we will draft one of these. If not one falls then it could be 10 different players. In one week the conversation starts with the mistake they made by taking so and so at 10. I trust them to get it right.
  13. If one of the main criterias of a RB is pass blocking, then LeQuint Allen is your guy . Draft Buzz has him rated by far the best pass blocker.
  14. I don't have a problem if we get Banks, I just don't think they are going to draft a OT in the first round. Now if they trade down, I think the attention they have given to Conerly makes him more likely to be a Bear. Everything is projection, with only 6 blue players in the draft 10-50 could be drastically different than people are predicting. The teams don't have a single big board exactly the same.
  15. I agree with that. Players like Judkins, KJ, can compliment him and get a larger role in the future. There are 30 draftable RBs and probably 4 go in first 2 rounds, we will get a good one.
  16. Last year was a shit show, everyone gets a fresh start with new coaches. Lots of people quit last year.
  17. Any player addition now on defense is with DAs blessing.i don't know that much about DAs to say who is and isn't going to be effective. If we go by value, he was the best signing Poles has made since he's been here.
  18. Swift will succeed in a Johnson offense, he's not a star but because of his contract, he's not going to be discarded. Someone like Judkins could be effective and a load back if they wanted to do that with 4.48 speed. When his contract is over he will be gone but the star of this offense has to be Caleb. I think if any of the blue players drop, we will take one and that could be Jeanty. I won't complain but don't think he makes it to 10. The AZ members should have a better read than me but I like Skattebo. Not a speedy guy but a punishing slippy runner.
  19. Poles has identified the core players and sign them. Brisker's health is the key to need at S , if healthy, he will be here next year also. If Byard plays well, he did last year, they could bring him back. Backups are solid NFL players.
  20. I expect us to take anyone of the blue chip players if there, otherwise Mykel Williams is my focus right now. I heard a podcast and can't remember the football guy but he mentioned we were 6 deep at DT. Dexter, Billings, Jarrett, Cris Williams, Zach Pickens and Johnathan Ford. Lots of questions past the first 3 but we do have those bodies on the roster. DE is much thinner.
  21. I'm not complaining about KJ, I'd love to have him, it's just Junkins will be a very good player, better than Henderson. Henderson is a Swift type in an offense, we need a compliment back with power.
  22. The main reason for the combine is medicals and they get to interview players. The measuables are secondary.
  23. Highly likely one of those 2 are our pick at 10.
  24. If Warren is there, I think we take him , and 72 is the sweet spot for RBs, probably there.
  25. Edmonds hasn't played up to the contract but he hasn't been playing bad. Allen may be the answer to getting our monies worth. The only left is to resign Thuney.
