I think Caleb would wait to long for down field route's to open. A ton of times the outlet throw was their for him . He either has bad vision or was to stubborn to throw short.
-
The one thing you seen from Caleb was RedZone presents. Holding the ball to long was a bad habit he learned in college. Johnson will change that for him
-
Lots of people say they have inside sources as to what Poles will do. I don't believe in a second, he always surprises us. Dalman was a no brainer, I don't think that prediction was special news. Everyone knew right away he was going with Caleb but no one has predicted anything else. The bears brass is good for not letting information out. They very easily could take Jeanty but I don't see them moving up to get him.
-
Cool, I have something for you.matt Bowen is on the Score regularly ( sounds like Doug Buffone) and today they talked about who at 10. He doesn't think Warren or Jeanty will be there,he said they need to take Banks at 10. As much as I like him, I don't think the bears will. He talked about Mykel Williams is going to be a good NFL player and wouldn't be a reach at 10. I don't like people that don't have production. 5 sacks, 21 Ts. Mike Green 17 sacks 61 Ts James Pierce 8 sacks 38 Ts Princely Umanmien 11 sacks 37 Ts Landon Jackson 7 sacks 49 Ts Jack Sawyer 9 sacks 59 Ts JT Tumoloau 13 sacks 61 Ts Bradyn Swinson 9 sacks 59 Ts

Can't disagree with anything you said.

They are already down 2 draft picks,no way they are losing more assets. Carter may be the one player worth trading up for but they need more than one person. Poles probably wants to trade back to the strength of the draft 2nd and third round picks to fill needs. I would say 5 top 72 is more valuable than one top 5 and 2 3rd rounders.

We have enough players to go to war with right now but I think Johnson wants at least one more weapon ( RB - TE-WR), more OL depth, more DL depth and future players at S and LB. The outlier is the evaluation of the current roster, we don't know there opinion. Maybe Johnson thinks Scott can excel. Maybe Allen thinks Jamree Kronah is our 4 th DE. 6'4" 275, 4.77 speed I think how the draft falls will determine what they address first. Example A: Mason Graham drops ( no brainer) Example B: chance to trade back Example 😄 they have a certain player rated as a blue we don't expect ( Mathew Golden)

That applies to every position on the field, better depth. DL is quite different than most positions because they rotate players in and out. You need 4 we don't have 4 quality players at DT and DE.
-
Aaron Donald is not in this draft. Harmon gets a ton of pressure but is a poor tackler. Has a 40% tackle rate.
-
Harmon is a beast. Like you said a late first wouldn't be a great reach but I think if we trade back then his name would come into play. The reason DT is a need is because you want a strong 4 man rotation. We have 3 strong players but need a 4th. Plus Billings is in the final year of his contract and Jarrett has age. Harmon is more of a 3T than NT. Grant would upgrade NT where Billings is the only player there. It doesn't have to be in the first but it depends what they decide is more important . I think DE is just as needy with only 2 solid players and Booker. In the first we can get the second best DE, (James Pierce) if that's what they decide. The second round has options also.

Monday Dane Brugler going to be on Barstool podcast with Greg Gabriel, it's live so should be interesting . I think 11 or 12 , not sure the hours are screwed up over here.
-
Tice mentioned both Membou and Banks. He said if Simmons didn't get hurt he would have been the top rated LT but of course, he did.
-
So far 11 top 30 reported. Jeanty is the only first round pick. 4 OL no 1st round type, Conerly and Savaiinaea the only bigger names. I have seen Campbell reported but not sure that has been verified. Lemmings is pretty on top of things. I heard they had 2 zoom calls with a couple but want to see it verified first. Warren has not had a visit yet and seen that reported.

I'm trying to find the list, they had 40 prospects in today with the local label on them. https://www.youtube.com/live/D_mkjGOvJns?si=KEnMOc2LwZouOLiC
-
They signed Bozeman early this year, they must think he's a better fit than Sanborn, they clearly let him walk.
-
Mike Tice rates Conerly one of the top LT prospects in the draft and will go higher than early 2nd his kid was saying.
-
That was dumb, it won't be the last time I do that.
-
It doesn't have to be, but if you draft someone like Barkley or Bjan Robinson you probably are going to have the offense runs thru him, at least he will be the focus of the offense. Johnson clearly stated he wants the offense to run thru Caleb. KC offense runs thru the QB but likes a good running game for balance. I think Johnson looks at it the same way. He uses a 2 back system to keep the defense off balance with Monty and Gibbs but wants Caleb to be his focus. Philly had the advantage of a good passing offense and great OL, when they added Barkley. A quality defense helps. Do we have the team yet to add the final piece as Philly did last year? Not quite there yet. I've been looking at RBs today and there are a lot of good ones that could be starting backs for many teams. The great depth at RB this year will figure into when the bears take a RB. Actually none of that matters, Jeanty won't be there at 10 anyways.
-
Because of only a small number of blue players, this year's draft is going to be wildly different that what people predict. There will be 4 or 5 players taken in the first round no one expected. Some slip to the second that was rated higher.
-
Yes he said that. He also has Brisker and Byard that do that well. Edwards had 4 sacks last year.
-
With such a deep draft in RBs, I don't see a first round RB pick. They can get a 2 nd or 3rd round pick that could contribute in a rotational capacity right away. Johnson doesn't run a load back system. 2 yrs ago they had a chance to draft Robinson but moved back and took Gibbs in Detroit. His philosophy is to never let the defense know what he's doing. That's why Monty and Gibbs both got a lot of carries in Detroit. If you have a load back that simplifies the offense for a DC.
-
It's hard to predict trades but they absolutely will consider that. If we could could get an extra 2nd and 4 th, that would be great.
-
ND is considered a local school.
-
We visited with ND WR Beaux Collins today. 4.52 speed at 6.4. Not a speed guy. Seems to be a lot of late round, UDFA types we are taking visits with.

Something that will affect the draft that people don't talk about is what players on the team that they view valuable that we think they need to draft a backup? The Braxton/ Kiran debate is an example. If they think they have the position covered, it will eliminate a early OL pick at 10 . If they think it's a problem, it could be at 10. Personally I think we take an OL in the second round that they don't think needs to start his first year. Conerly could fill that spot at 41.
