  1. Since you are always predicting failure for Fields, we get to watch him be a starting QB in the NFL. The proof is in the pudding. Last year he had a 93.3 QB rating. Caleb was 87.8 . I am saying he is good enough to start in the NFL and keep repearting that I do not think he is in the top 15. He will finish between 15th. and 20th. You seem to only have two opinions on QBs (star or bust) the real world does have a sliding scale. We both know our own opinions and this year will show where he fits. Here he played for a lousy coaching group and bad OL. In Pitt he shared the QB spot. Believe it or not players can get better with more experience and finding the right fit. Geno Smith, Sam Darnold are examples of QBs playing better after shaky starts.
  2. DE is a question mark with depth: Dayo and Sweat are our starters. (Austin Booker-Dom Robinson-Xaiver Calton-Dainel Hardy-Jamree Kromah-Jereme Robinson are our backups. Also Shemar Turner and Gervon Dexter could take some snaps outside. Dayo 6-5 282 Sweat 6-5 273 Austin 6-4 258 Dom 6-5 275 Xaiver 6-6 273 Hardy 6-2 260 Kromah 6-3 268 Jereme 6-3 258 Shemar 6-3 293 Dexter 6-4 326 We have many players with the size to play the DA DE position. So who could be a breakout player we are not counting on. As BJ stated I think Dom could be that guy.
  3. Here is some interesting stats: Consider two years unded Fields and one under a rookie QB. Kmet has the 10th most yards of a TE the past 3 years and of those he has the 4th most TD's behind Kittle, Andrews and Kelce has 56 less trgts than Kittle, 29 less than Andrews and 192 less than Kelce
  4. Watching the Bears last year showed me we had more talent than a 5 win team suggests. Coaching doomed a winning season. If you think Caleb is the real deal, you have to be optimistic on our chances.
  5. I have had all my joints get implants. I am now relplacing the left hip I had done in 2009. You dont die from a new hip but it always goes back to ( am I as healthy as I think I am) Its getting knocked out , where surgeries usually go wrong. I look at myself like I do the future of the Bears, all is going to go well. Thanks for anyone wishing me luck.
  6. Fields got paid to be a starting QB for the Jets, thinking he is still a failure is a little long in the tooth. No one is saying he is a top 10 QB in the league but if used right, he can win football games.
  7. We brought in leaders to help the chemistry. Jarrett, Thuney and Dalman all bring leadership to the lines. We now have players that will make everyone accountable on the DL and OL. We got a A+ coaching staff that wont let anyone slack off. Great situation for this team to excell.
  8. I have surgery on July 7th, so if I dont die , Im in for this year.
  9. These two make some good points about RB and getting rid of Sanborn.
  10. I agree with most comments he makes in the video, its 20 minutes long
  11. The other guy, Cowherd does his show out of Chicago
  12. I dont think anyone disagrees with you, the past is written in stone but this year is different. The new coaches carry a load of aculades with them to this team. Its not just BJ, but Randle L, Eric B a long list of high end offensive minds. We had talent on this team last year but the chaos of Flus took any improvement away when the team quit on him. The Bears have never fired a HC in season. Bingo, its different. Paid a huge salary for the top offensive mind of the last few years. Bingo, different. \ I have 60 years of being let down, 1985, 2006, 2018 kinda. We live in a world of what have you done for me lately, but you cant ignore changes like this didnt happen. We got to see first hand the OL change to the better. weapons galore and still a potential top 5 QB. This is different, with 6 new starters and 15 new players that will contribute. What will be the complelation of all of this new has yet to be seen but a winning season is the floor.
  13. I threw up in my mouth. Have no idea who this guy is.
  14. Im not sure if this is what you refer to but this is a good article and video on the DA defense. We also have to remember he stunts a lot so inside out-outside in, so larger ends gives him the ability to do that. Dayo was signed because he perfectly fits what DA does, whether that proves to be a good get is yet to be seen. Sweat has stunted inside, Turner, Dexter, and Jarrett will be able to stunt outside and be effective. I think this explains why Hyppolite became a valueable pick and I's sure DA was behind that, he stunts LBers a lot. Edmunds has size and 4.54 speed. I see a lot of players already on the team make a better impact under DA. I think Billings will get less snaps under DA. Billings is one of the stongest players in the NFL, he was a power life champion in Texas but because of his mobility and speed will still be a rotation DT but less time on the field. https://www.marqueesportsnetwork.com/dennis-allen-chicago-bears-defensive-coordinator-ben-johnson/
  15. Those are all options , training camp will answer a lot of questions going forward. If we end up keeping Jones on the roster (depth and injury protection if he doesnt start) he still has value. If another team signs him for 20+ we will get a comp pick either in round 3 or 4, I dont think it matters if he starts or not, its what he gets paid.
  16. The Bears had targeted players available to them when they moved around the draft board. They easily could have stayed put and taken some players other people rated higher on the draft board. No one knows what their draft board looked like. I think they got players they wanted . The war room film showed how excited they were to draft their first 4 draft picks. Caleb Johnson went pick 83 and Cam Skattebo went pick 105. They had pick 39-56-62, If they liked them they would have taken them. Swift was the 5th leading rusher the year he played for Philly in the league. 1049 yards- 4.6- 5 TDs and 39 rec. When all the new coaches came in they had plenty of time to go over the roster and figure out what needs they wanted to fill in the draft. Clearly they didnt rate RB as a high priority position, the pundits and fans suggested that.
  17. The Bears need to make sure LT is productive this year, until we see two young players produce, they are not going to trade him. You would trade him and then both of the young Ts play poorer and thinks that's OKaY? He's not expensive and was only a 5th round pick, if he plays this year and they let him walk it wont be a big deal.
  18. He may not be, that is why we drafted Monangai and have BJ on the roster. Eric Bieniemy was a successful coach on a KC team that won two SBs. That is where he got his good coaching ratings from. While in KC, Karrem Hunt in 2017 run for over 1350 yards. Its the only time Eric had a dominate RB in 10 yrs at KC. He is use to RB by committee and that is exactly what our situation is this year.
  19. No way I think we are signing him to a contract after this year. IF Ozzy and Kiran can play , they will be our future. A average LT is what Braxton has brought us for 3 yrs. We want better, even if he balls out , I dont think we pay him 20+. That is why we have drafted 2 LTs the last two yrs. We will just run with the younger guys. We get to watch the competition in real time. If the new guys struggle , Braxton will see the starting job again, its all up in the air. I hope he plays well that would improve our team, I want them all to play well.
  20. You cant go a couple days without putting words in my mouth. I literally said he will not start at LT to begin the year but they wont be trading him because the other 2 LTs havent proven anything. He is the floor, that is just common sense, not making him an all pro. Can you direct message me on what I am going to say tommorrow so I dont have to put any thought in it.
