  1. Yes yes and yes. JJ is one that will be out for a few weeks. Does anyone know why? I hope he's not playing the( I need more money card) after only one yr.
  2. Im excited about this year, so much to absorb, could care less about next yr or year after until we start winning some games.
  3. I just heard he said Colston is ready to go now to. Then I thought I heard Bruden was going to be a few weeks yet. Anyone have more info on that.
  4. In a backup role he would be a savoy vet if he makes the roster. We are definitly in a totally different place that just 2 yrs ago. This is the year of( show me the wins) for Poles.
  5. Instead of starting a new thread on roster moves we might as well just list them here. Today we signed DB Tre Flowers and DL Tanoh Kpassagnon. Tanoh was a reliable backup for KC for 8 yrs. We added WR Jahdae Walker and Ian Wheeler (RB) fron the non performance list We waivered DB Alex Cook and DL Jereme Robinson. Also Poles talked to today (did not hear the speech) but said Braxton Jones was ready to go. Can anyone verify that?
  6. You are also correct with Kmet, it would cost 1.6 mil and we would save 10 mil. Again , with this being BJs first year to develop his offense there is no logical reason to get rid of talented players. Our cap is set this year and next year is a whole different set of circumstances.
  7. You are correct I just found the trade information on OTC, it will cost 4 mil to trade him this yr. Its still not going to happen even thou its an option. We could win the SB this year but that's not going to happen either. Not sure while we just get to a loaded roster why you start wanting to get rid of talented players. 8. Poles set all of the contracts to align with when we have to pay Caleb which would be 2028. The core of our team have contracts thru 2027 and each one has an out their last year of their contracts. People can condemn Poles all they want but he has been great with the cap space. As we bring in rookies their contracts end in 2028. If they did well drafting it is a natural progression to let players leave and the young take over. What is interesting is Kmet and DJ Moore have contracts thru 2028 and that is their out year. 2027 is a little more money to release them , so 2027 is workable but they wouldnt be leaving before 2027 IMO. Edmunds is signed thru 2026 and he will be the big money contract that can be outed next year. Grady Jarret can be outed next yr with little dead money. You are right to look ahead about freeing up money but are looking at the wrong names that could leave. Jones was a 5th round pick that Poles lived with until he found a replacement. We have that now with 2 bites at the apple. Now if Jones had kept progressing, he would be paying him next year but he hasnt. He has one more yr but the injury has derailed his chance to prove that. Braxton Jones was a win for Poles not a mistake. We are at the beginning of what Poles set up for us to be a winning team going forward. When hired he said 5 yrs so he is one year ahead on his projection. Right now he has many mistakes to be critized for but his overall plan is right on schedule. His two biggest wins was drafting Caleb and hiring BJ , that is what he will be remember for . Not drafting Zach Pickens in the third or not getting a stud RB in 2025.
  9. I found this hard to believe but DJ Moore is 5 months younger than DJ Chark. Another thing to think about, both entered the NFL in the 2018 draft. Moore was pick 24 and Chark pick 51. Hard to imagine both these players are still fairly young.
  10. To be honest. they did not base their draft on question marks about successful players already on the team. DJ had some bumps in the road but was still the leading weapon on the team. The JJ situation is just now happening, wasnt before the draft. Kmet had an off year because of a dysfuncial offense and just didnt get snaps. I think they brought DJ in because he is a big WR ,. Rome and Miles Boykin are the only large WRs on the team. DJ is 6'3' 200 lbs and has 4.34 speed at 28 years old. I would say Boykin has been disappointing and could take his roster spot.
  11. I got the timeframe wrong, this was not predraft it was much later. It was well after the draft, but it is a non story saying we were close to taking JJ instead of Caleb. We took Caleb, and did show a lovefest before the draft.
  12. Agree with all that. Forget about QB names, no GM is going to give away franchise secrets to strangers at a casual event.
  13. This is laughable. He states a casual talk at a event that Poles said they really liked JJ McCarthy and thought about taking him. This timeframe is predraft, let me see, do GMs say things to mislead people or tell franchise secrets with the #1 pick with virtually a stranger? Who even has balls to pretend this is a serious story? Once they met with Caleb they totally created a lovefest with him and didnt even meet with other top 5 QBs that went in the first round that year. Go by what people do , not what people say.
  14. This is an interesting conversation about BJs offense with Kyle Long. These comments are solely the opinion of the creators and some I share and some I do not.
  15. You are correct about targets attempted but Detriot was second in the league in rushing attempts because of their high level RBs and I dont see us being that good. I think we end up leaning on the passing game more. Last year we had (rushing) 431 attempts and Lions 534. Passing attempts Bears 566, Lions 551. Then success rate comes into play as far as padding individual stats per team.
  16. DJ got caught up in the dysfunctional offense and quit on Flus like several other players. Last year is an outlier, he has always been consistent in his career with lots of bad talent. Doubt you see anything close to that this year with an accountable HC demanding excellence. Cleveland is paying Denzel Ward 82 mil over the next 3 years. Garrett and Watson contracts are blown up to . They are crazy for those kind of contracts in Cleveland. Like you said this is normal behavior for JJ over the last few yrs, he will be here ready to play very soon.
  17. Ya he is going to have to earn it and he better be able to block some for BJ to buy into him totally.
  18. Glad to hear it, it will now be the destination place to watch NFL games . I think there are several groups doing that. CHGO has a trip planned too.
  19. The OL is singular the most important and improved part of our team. Obviously Caleb has to excel but I believe he will. I am looking at different opinions and ranking and sharing information with the website. I think we are top 10 in the league as a floor and top 5 as a ceiling. It hinges on the production we get out of our LT position no matter who is starting. I cant believe i have to say this everytime I post something now. These ranking and opinions are that of the creators. The top 5 that includes the bears starts at 59.09 but the whole video is interesting if you value the OL. I thinki PFF is close on this information they are providing but not perfect.
  20. These are two talents that will have success more in the future than this year. Loveland and Bruden will have roles in this group but think because of the reasons you listed wont be the top targets this year. 2026 will be the year we get to see all our weapons running at the same speed and boy will that be fun.
  21. Agree with everything you had to say. I think in order of targets DJ-Rome-Loveland-Kmet-Burden- the rest of the targets will be distrubted amongst the rest.
  22. JJ gives the impression he is underpaid because of the large contracts different CBs are getting in the present. He is presently listed as the 13th highest. Truth can be seen in what the next 3 yrs pays him and pays other CBs listed ahead of him. 63 mil in hand money Sauce Gardener; next 3 years 64 mil Stingley Jr- 64,5 mil Jaycee Horn- 53 mil Jalen Ramsey- 60 mil Patrick Sutain- 53 mil A J Terrell- 56 mil Denzell Ward-82 mil Marlon Humphrey- 55 mil Trevon Diggs- 55 mil Marshon Lattimre - 36.5 mil Tyson Campbell- 43 mil L'Jarius Sneed- 63 mil I will throw out the top salary and worst with the concept those are out of line. The average for the other 11 is 57 mil. The top 4 make 64.5-64-63-63 the rest are below 60 mil. So by over all salaries, JJ is 5th in paid money for the next 3 yrs. I would say JJ is not the best CB in the league, I would rate him a top 5 CB and that is exactly where he is getting paid.
  23. I have always had the same thoughts as you. I disagree he will be more minimized this year. We are looking at the limitations of our offense thru the same box we always have. The BJ offense will have many more snaps and more targets to share this year. I, as you , dont think he is the winner of the new offense of BJ s but will not be ignore him. Statistically I think the great talent( Loveland) and the steady eddie (Kmet) will be simiiar in targets when the season is over. From 2026 going forward Loveland will gain more and more targets as a star in this league. BJ will shares the targets and we will see as the season progresses how those are distributed.
  24. AZ54 is the most commonsense and respected member on here. He just pushed back on your POLES LOVER bears fans comment and you have a normal conversation with him. Funny how that works.
