  1. Emery does what he thinks best, he traded for Marshall, drafted Jeffery, drafted Long. Last years draft could still turn out to be golden. When makes me smile, if we dont get who we want we complain and wakeup the next day. He makes the wrong pick and in a couple of years he loses his job. It just doesnt equate.
  2. He is an inch taller and is a better player.
  3. He takes who he thinks will be a good player, not your choices. If he turns out to be similar to Tillman, we have a winner and you wont be whining anymore.
  4. 6' 190 327/8 arm length, good football quickness. 3 cone-veritcal leap-broad jump all give good signs of explosiveness. 11 PBU 6 ints.-1 FF
  5. There are lots of DTs left that can play. S is the position I am worried about.
  6. They still have the rest of the draft yet.
  7. They were talking he has played some safety before. Maybe he starts there until Tillman is done.
  8. Im sorry I was right, we were so close.
  9. He was picked a few minutes ago.
  10. Mainly wanted to get the third Bears pick and we did that. I think SCS did a good job, but the S may not start right away, not rated very high.
  11. Not a good idea, there is no guarantee that those three will be great players. You give up all your picks and Jerrin is just average and Bucannon ends up being a backup. Mundy beats him out.
  12. There was a study done on this very subject, and it has been proving that moving down adding more bodies always comes out better because you have more bodies to have the chance to be good. The first round is 50-50 anyways so having 4 chances at players is better than the one big one. I'll find the link to the stats that prove this out.
  13. Indy adds Antione Exum/CB-S to their defense. Exum was a high rated productive player until an injury last year. If completely healthy he could end up being a starter.
  14. Here is what one draft guru had to say about who we pick C.J. Mosley Alabama LB He is one of the most underrated players in the draft, and could be the successor to Lance Briggs or Brian Urlacher. The Bears need to take the best available defensive player. The ideal pick would be Donald, but there is virtually no way he is available at 14. Mosley is every bit the player Donald is. The difference in his draft stock is there are questions about his ability to stay healthy. If the Bears' doctors don't sign off on Mosley or if Mosely is off the board, they could go for Kyle Fuller. Others in the mix are safeties Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and Calvin Pryor.
  15. I must have hit quote instead, its in the quote.
  16. I have to admit that would be good but Brooks is not a first year starter in the NFL. That will be determined. Now for my picks. Cleveland adds a MLB Skov/LB Stanford. Fills a need for the defense side of the ball Arizona has a weak offensive line and continue to rebuild it with David Yarney/OT-OG Stanford Next up is Jason for Green Bay By the way I have seen McGill/CB drafted twice so pay attention guys.
  17. Here is what draft scouts has to say about Mosley Frankly: Underrated here. He is a must-draft, mobile mass of natural football genius who has no negatives and works full speed, full time. Mosley is even a blocker on punts, covers kicks and if you want more, just ask. - Frank Cooney, The Sports Xchange PLAYER OVERVIEW The leader of the Crimson Tide's suffocating defense, Mosley is highly thought of among the scouting community and could end up as a top 10 pick in May. Mosley is as well-rounded and disciplined a linebacker as this draft class has to offer. His 107 tackles in 2012 were the second-highest total by an Alabama linebacker in the past 25 years (DeMeco Ryans had 126 in 2003) and 48 more than the next Tide defender last season (fellow inside linebacker Trey DePriest). Mosley also recorded eight tackles for loss, four sacks and two interceptions. Tough and athletic, with the keenest instincts of any linebacker I've scouted since Lofa Tatupu, Mosley is constantly around the ball and is often making big plays as a result. (11/14/13) In an increasingly pass-centric league that demands defenses go with nickel coverage more than 60% of the time, Mosley has rare ability and range to blanket tight ends and running backs. Mosley reminds Crimson Tide defensive coordinator Kirby Smart of another ultra-instinctive linebacker — the Carolina Panthers' Luke Kuechly, the 2013 defensive player of the year. "I've never seen a linebacker get his hand on the ball so many times. C.J. is so instinctive," Smart told USA TODAY Sports. "A lot of people think C.J. is undersized. That is the one knock against him. 6 foot 2, 234 pounds, 4.63 in 40-yard dash Lowdown: Last season, Mosley was named the SEC defensive player of the year and won the Butkus Award, given to the best linebacker in the nation. Finishing as Alabama's leading tackler for the second straight season, Mosley had 108 stops (nine for loss) with five pass breakups. He diagnoses plays quickly, plays low and stuffs running backs on sight (see: LSU games). Very rarely was Mosley tied up by blockers or dragged downfield by ball-carriers. Has a clean, dominant skill-set. Mosley's ability against athletic tight ends one on one remains unknown. A team captain, Mosley brought attitude to the Alabama defense. Three-year starter. Blessed with all the tools of the linebacker trade. Quick hands, quick feet, pass rush quickness, fluidness with good flexibility, acceleration, balance, the ability to redirect, and top level instincts. After all that, the best thing he may do is excel in pass coverage. Good route awareness. Plays square. Works through traffic instinctively. Wrap tackles. Is disruptive as a blitzer and is an impact hitter. He also has returned three interceptions for touchdowns in his career. Plays on all special teams. His 2012 stats: 107 tackles, 4 sacks, 7 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions. Ourlads' Scouting Services DRAFT NOTES: One of 10 players in nation to earn Unanimous All-American status, Butkus Award winner (top linebacker in country), All-SEC first team selection. Mosley lines up as an inside linebacker in Alabama’s base 3-4. He is a 4th year senior and while he wasn’t listed as a full time starter his first two years, he got significant playing time and was among the Tides leading tacklers both years. At about 6’2 – 240 with long arms, Mosley has all the tools to be a top NFL linebacker. He possesses very good overall athleticism with speed, flexibility, change of direction and body control. To go along with his size he has very good play strength. Mosley is alert and instinctive. He is a quick reactor who is consistently around the ball. He is proficient defending the run, in pass coverage, and rushing the passer. He shows his strength and power at the point by shedding quickly and is an explosive, aggressive tackler. He has the speed and range to stop both the inside and outside run and moves easily through trash. Many linebackers are used strictly in zone coverage, but that is not the case with Mosley. He is often put in man situations versus running backs and tight ends and does an excellent job. He can drop, pedal, and turn as well as any linebacker in football. He can react to the ball in the air and has good hands. While not used much as a pass rusher, he is effective when used. He knows how to use his speed and has the hand use to get rid of blocks. The beauty of a player like Mosley is that he can play in any scheme. He is a fit to play inside in a 3-4, and he has the traits and athleticism to play any of the three linebacker positions in a 4-3. When Oakland drafted Rolando McClain in the first round a few years ago, they thought they were getting a tough smash mouth inside player. It turned out he was more of a finesse player. Mosley, on the other hand, might not have McClain’s size but he is a much more physical player. He should easily be a first round pick. One of the best things you can say about Mosley is that he can play a number of positions. He was an inside linebacker for Alabama in a 3-4 front, but he can also play all three linebacker positions in a 4-3. He has good size at 6023 – 234, and he has the frame to play at 240. He didn’t work out at combine but ran 4.61 at his pro day. Mosley is highly instinctive, tough, and aggressive. He can play the run, drop into coverage, or rush the passer. He has the athleticism to play man coverage on backs and tight ends. This gives defenses a lot of flexibility. Throughout his career. He was always one of Alabama’s leading tacklers. He will be a similar player to kuechly. Fact is anybody notice that Panthers defense became reverent once he was drafted. A stud defense needs a stud LB. He will not be good as Urlacher was but his present will make people around him better.
  18. I will try to watch that, Im a plumber, valve comes into play much more that value in my life and I dont proof read my threads all the time.
  19. I dont agree with a lot of things he says but he is not clueless. He was talking about how bad the Bears WRs were two years before anyone else was saying it. He doenst like Donald because he is small. If he is a stud pass rusher, no one will care if he is lacking in run defense. The valve thing is stupid because he assessment on valve is compromised because of draft guides he was pushing. He thought Long was a huge reach he has since recanted but that shows you all valuations has flaws. We dont draft a OT because one of the top 3 dropped to us. We are not in need at that position and there has to be stud D player on the board of equal valve . TE is the one position where if we grabbed Ebron, I wouldnt be complaining. He is a stud and adding another weapon to our offense could only make good things happen. BUT Im not pining for that. I all in on one of these 3 Donald,Pryor, and Haha. I have a secret wish to draft Mosley but that is because I have been spoiled with the likes of Butkus,Urlacher and the many of other stout MLBs we have had along the way. I cant see me being un happy with our pick at 14 any way he goes, but then Im easy. Most of you arent.
  20. I think the first two will be instant starters but the next two Ward and Bucannon are question marks as starters there first year. The rest of the class is way back.
  21. I think if our roster was done as of today, where would our weaknesses be? Offensively-I think the Bears are ok with Palmer as our backup QB-I trust Trestmans judgement. IMPORTANCE-LOW We definitely need a another RB and TE prospect to add to our depth. Those can all be obtained after the 3rd round. IMPORTANCE-RB-high----TE-medium. Defensively- We have a our starters back at CB but little depth. Definitely a need but can be gotten in the first 4 rounds. IMPORTANCE-medium At S I think the only quality starter among us is Mundy. Conte may be able to get back in the picture but that is a big ? mark. They jumped on Mundy right out of the blocks in FAgency and I think they judge him as an upgrade over Wright. They have to address this position early. 1st or 2nd. IMPORTANCE- high At LB we have starters two positions with a big question mark at SLB but have some bodies to throw there. I think Williams is a injury waiting to happen and deem a must address spot. IMPORTANCE- high At DE we added several FAs and have no need to even go there. At DT we have two starters back. Ratliff and Paea but depth is lacking. Collins is well liked by the Bears and Houston and Idonije can play the 3 T spot, so I think we add possibly two prospects here. IMPORTANCE-high So our first 4 rounds will be S-DT-LB-CB. not necessarily in that order.
  22. Almost every thread refers to this years draft, so my last thoughts on what's going to happen. DT and S are our two most pressings needs. We wont be drafting a QB. Emery stated QBs drafted after the 3 rd dont stay on NFL rosters very long. There is a few exceptions to this rule but since our first two picks wont be a QB , we simply wont be grabbing one. Emery will address the depth at RB and TE and dont discount a OL prospect somewhere at the end of the draft. At the first pick, he will take the best D player on the board. Whether that be Gilbert,Donald,Haha or Mosely. I have no problem with any of those names. If we trade back, Dennard,Pryor,Fuller, Hageman,Truitt, Nix all come into play. I think our surprise pick will be Mosely because everybody thinks this isnt a need, but if he is the best D player on the board,it could happen. Nix could also be a surprise pick. IF he didnt have his injury he would be rated a top 10 valve in this years draft. S position is weak after the first two picks. CB is deep and could see us waiting until the 3rd or 4th round with that spot. After Donald (and I believe he will be gone) there are several 3 tier Ts to consider, Quarles,Easley,Hageman,Truitt,Johnson,Reid. We could wait until the 3rd or 4th round to address this need.
