Of course that would matter who we drafted, but I dont see any rookie being the starter full time, unless we have an injury.Ratliff will get the most reps but of course injury would change that. If we get lucky and get Donald, he will be rotational. If we go with a guy like Nix, I doubt if he would be in on passing. I like you, think Donald will be a very good player on pass rush but may be a liability on run downs. He hasnt taken a step in the NFL yet so we should see how all that plays out.

. Our best 4 as it stands right now is LDE-Young, 3-T-Houston,NT-Ratliff-Allen-RDE Even if we get a rookie in the mix, that will still be our best 4 players, so these 4 will see many snaps together. Mundy will be our starting SS and will play well there. Depth at all positions except DE is at suspect. If Briggs has lingering should issues from last year, you might see Bostic starting at WLB, the position he is best suited for. We need a DT rotational player, starting FS, a MLB backup or starter when Williams hits the gurney again, and a CB to groom for a starter role next year. We still need a backup RB,QB, and TE. I suspect we could see draftees at all of those positions.

We need more options if some of these choices fail. I wish every player on the Bears to be the bomb, but we all know they wont be. So let the games begin and load up on prospects.
-
Your spot on, it takes two years and go with the BPA and fix the rest of the spots next year.
-
I dont think we will be getting rid of any of our picks. In a later round they will grab a RB more to there liking.
-
Its an area of need, but so are other positions. In one off season you cant completely rebuild a roster. Say Tillman gets hurt then what? Williams gets hurt again? We have so many needs you have to fill several spots, a DT in the first 3 rounds and later spot gives us two more bodies. That's the best we can hope for.

Everybody will want the Bears, so do some number system and make it random, It doesnt matter what team I take.

Truitt could be our first pick. I dont think with all the mocks out there you can really use that information for a basis of what will actually happen. The best at guessing gets maybe 8 right. The ones I think know what there doing get more of the top 32 players right and not necessarily to the right teams. He is rated high on many boards, but if we go DT in the first we will be addressing S and CB in the next couple of picks. DT- We have Ratliff,Collins, Paea, Izzy will see time there and also Houston, so we wont be drafting two DTs high, maybe another one in the last few rounds, but were in descent shape this year. Ratliff is coming off and injure as well as Collins, but with Izzy and Houston we are not completely dry at the position. It wouldnt be bad if we got two in the first two rounds, but there is enough depth there to add a body at NT in the 4th or higher rounds. We may not even address the DT position until the 3rd round. What I want is the best player available at a defensive position. OLB and DE are the only two we can get by with if we dont draft those positions. Do not discount MLB, if is a need position,as well as S,CB,DT. Those all could be addressed in the first four rounds, and then we will take the best prospects at any position. We need youth at all positions, so he could go anywhere with those picks.

Just let me know a head of time and Im in.
-
It may not guarantee anything but if either puts them on or takes them off of our board on draft day.
-
Houston will take snaps inside and Izzy will almost strickly play there. We will be taking at least one, maybe two. It might not be with 14th, but one of our first 3 for sure.

Louis Nix was brought in for a visit.

I am referring to football players. You have two with the same traits, one runs a 440 and one runs a 460, who do you think gets the look? When looking at prospects I look at production, football sense, work habits and then athletic traits. I like everything about Lynch, but with a lack of speed it limits what he can do in transferring to other positions in the NFL.

The point of the article was if we trade down our extra picks can fill other needs. And like everybody says we need many spots filled. 50% of the first round picks are busts. So its all a crap shoot. I see us trading down and different names will be in place down there. My pick if it was my choice would be Pryor, as much as I like Donald, he will not be a good run defender which would put him into a role as a pass rusher, something he does very well. I want someone in the first round being a starter from day 1.
-
I dont think anyone thinks he will be the next Hester, just do a descent job and have a few longs ones along the way.
-
This article is exactly what I see happening in the draft this year. As the article suggests, the more tap I watch on Donald the more I see him not handling the run in the NFL.Gilbert has all the tools but dont see having the savy to star in the league. As it states, I see us dropping down and either grabbing the players they mention or a S such as Ward or even a Bucannon. I doubt if Pryor will be there. http://nflmocks.com/2014/04/13/chicago-bea...back-nfl-draft/

I suspect you say those things about any recruit, but I was just going by things Ive read.
-
Hester was probably the best ever, but to be honest, he made a lot of bad decisions along the way. His TDs superseded that but not effective anymore.
-
The #1 thing Trestman will look at is accuracy and decision making, he doesnt fit that.
-
We all can be hopeful, Hesters gone, and not viable anymore, so lets get behind the next guy in line, Im all in.
-
Been watching Kyle Fuller, and that kid can play. Obviously videos are put together to show the good aspects of a player, but he definitely stands out.
-
If a rookie comes in and doesnt get much playing time, how is he going to be getting a good contract 4 years later?
-
Was watching my two favorite players Pryor and Donald, Pryor isnt perfect at S but he sure is an aggressive guy, not as good, but reminds me of Troy P. Also just noticed, Donald gets manhandled in the run game, but can sure go after QBs. I am starting to think, he may be to small to be an every down DT. More of a rotational pass rusher, but does that very well.

Found a website that just shows flim of to be drafted players. I was watching Pryor against FCU and Storm Johnson looked real good. Check out some players, Im painting my kitchen and it bores me so I found this site. http://draftbreakdown.com/video

Its not that they are a waste, but with Williams, Briggs being gone next year, and who knows about SMC, we need some more bodied with potenial to man those spots.
