In longer routes i get taking longer to go thru progressions but what bothers me is he rarely dumbs off to his outlet players when he gets rushed, that's what they're there for.

Thr first 3 rounds is where you find your most starter caliber players. 2023 1st round Wright, 2022 and 23 2nd round picks Brisker- Gordon-Dexter-Stevenson, 2022 3rd round V Jones was a bust but 2023 Zach Pickens judgemnt hasnt been decided yet due to injuries this yr. 5 hits- 1 bust and 1 still under review. that doesnt seeen like its bad drafting to me. 4th qnd 5th rounds has a lot of misses to them. Yet R. johnson , Braxton Jones and Terrell Smith have been big contribters. In 2022 and 2023 he also brought in Bagent, Sanborn,Eligha Hicks, Jaylon Jones that have all logged good snaps .

Of course but who is that great HC? Harbaugh didnt bring a GM with him, Belichick went to college. I dont see any dynamic coaches getting hired for the first time demanding the GM gets fired. Not one coach last year that was newly hired brought their own GM with them.

If Mason Graham-Abdul Carter or Kelvin Banks is there, jump on it, if not, dropping back and getting more shots at blue chip prospects seems like the best idea.

This article is pulled of of X , note sure if you are not on X, if it opens up for everyone. If they make the right hire for HC, of course its a great move. If they waste time finding a new GM, we could end up creating the same mess we just got. How many Coaches have a GM in their pocket when looking for a job/ I would say if its a good option he already has a job. .https://x.com/BearsNationCHI/status/1867264688666382461

I'm more of a glass half full person and just question does his inmaturirty affect the rest of the team? Playing worst as the season goes on doesnt seem like a good sign. I'd be trying to prove myself instead of falling in a hole.

Its a big crap shoot at the end of the roster but Billings was never lauded as a major pickup and he may have had the biggest impact of our defense falling off since he went out. I guess the point is, Poles keeps trying to get talent. He has had some success with unknown players like Bagent, Sanborn, Billings, Bill Murray. I wish Murray didnt get hurt he seemed like he could have eventually been a starter. Of course he has misses, all GMs do but these are cheap decisions if they fail.

What I dont know is, why after the blow up against Washington, he hasnt played well since? One play destroyed his confindence? I would think after a few weeks he would have tried to prove himself instead of fall deeper in a hole. A new coach may lift him up but if he needs that to pick himself up, is that worth the risk ? Has he affected the rest of the defensive backfield ? Their play has dropped off weekly. I think keeping players like Nate Davis, and V Jones around longer than they had value was not good for the overall culture of the team. Is Stevenson affecting his team mats? Terrell Smith may not have the wow plays Stevenson has but he is more consistant. His play has gotten better with every game.

Today we signed Johnathan Ford/DT off of Packers PS which means he is on the 53 man roster. 6-5 340 lbs. A perfect time to steal a guy with 4 weeks ro see if he can play. Packers have a very good DL so hard for other players to get a chance. Also signed Royce Freeman to the practice squad. 6' 238 adding some size until Johnson comes back. One yr with Denver he had 531 yds and 5 TDs so he has experience playing.

Poles was given 3 choices at HC when he was hired and then added Warren after that they gave power to. It seems to be problems in the franchise is coming over Poles head which helps make him look bad. If I was him, and if I dont get player control of coaches and players, i would resign too. When Harbaugh called last year it was Warren that nixxed it, we dont know if Poles wanted to talk to Harbagh or not but is taking the heat for others actions.

I would like all of those choices. I would like Trey Smith, thinking KC is going have a hard time paying a RG 20 mil a yr with their cap situation. The top rated edge is Mack who is making 25 mil this year and is owed 8.8 mil next year in a voided yr. Not sure he would come back here after being traded. SD is competive and have Harbaugh, dont think he is going to leave SD. Their are few other ones more productive edge not sure worth a big contract. The only edge I could find making mote sacks (7) than Mack was Joel Sweat. IDL may be a better place to upgrade overall play at DT. We are going to making 3 top 40 picks and a 70ish pick. 2 OL and 2 DL. I have seen a lot of mocks already and they are picking RBs,TEs, CBs, so many dumb people out there. Booker is developing but hasnt had an impact yet. Pickens is showing up a little at a time, Dexter has 5 sacks and will be among the IDL leaders at seasons end. The great Jalen Carter only has 4.5. Billings will be back. Sweat has nagging injuries that has effected his play.We add a vet and a couple high end rookies and i think the DL will be just fine.

I guess my point is , you view everything from a black-white argument, their doesnt seem to be middle ground with you. I am all in Caleb but I dont try pretend he doesnt make mistakes. Poles has several bad transactions but he has did some good things. You were totally right about Flus but dont accept he actually is a good D call players. Now if we compare them to the best personel we could get at GM or HC, clearly they dont compare but I dont think Poles isnt getting fired and not sure whoever they hire at HC will give us better results. If they choose you, i would be wanting you to succeed until you proved you couldnt do it. i hope Poles chooses a Vrabel, or Gruden type and succeed but until we know , I'll be sceptical. If Warren gets rid of Poles, I'll be more skeptical they get it right. I keep seeing w/o validation where Harbaugh wanted to apply for the HC job and Warren nixxed it not Poles. I think Poles is close to having a complete team and afraid a new regeme with just waste a few more yrs of Calebs rookie deal withj a reset.

Armstrong belongs to the America First group. I tried to find a client list but havent been successful yet. I did see Licoln Riley, PSU coach, James Franklin, Mike McCarthy are clients.

I have been looking at a ton of draft stuff considering how our season as went. In order of high end talent. Graham/DT Campbell/OT Carter/DE Banks/OT I have seen Banks listed in the top 20 more than the top 10. Campbell at the bottom of top 10s a lot. It seemm Graham is a prize and Carter not far behind. There are lots of IOL littered in the second and 3rd rounds. So you do you draft BPA or need. Honestly the OL are close enough to top of the talent level to pick at 5-9 depending on where we land. Braxton will never be better than just average but Kiran A. was drafted (2nd round talent) to compete with Braxton. Do we go BPA available with our first pick DT or DE and draft a OT later then add a OG and C in 2nd and 3rd rounds?
-
You are right, he should have not drafted Caleb and got a bunch of picks and fixed the OL and DL. He should have kept Fields and we would have a few more wins right now. We need to bring a new GM in and start over for the hundreth time then in 3 yrs ,do it again. I dont know what I was thinking.(its the same ownership)
-
The stateman was, the defense would have played better under Flus. You want to inject his HCing decisions. That wasnt the point. You keep trying to dismiss Flus having any value at all. Not sure why that bothers you. You should focus on complaining about us not hiring Harbaugh, he absolutely would have been a great choice but Warren wouldnt allow it, cant blame Poles for that. Caleb is our QB of the future but you dismiss his bad play but have no problem itemizing anyone elses mistakes. Calebs farts must smell like roses to you.
-
Brown is auditioning for the job. first game -F I like Vabrel and dont think hiring an offensive coach for sake of being a offensive coach shouldnt be the main theme. Vrabel reminds me of Dan Campbell. He's experienced and has had succeess. His problem was at QB, we dont have that problem.

Good post but until the Bears are sold? Its a slow change or find a new team.
-
I suspect when he said it would take 4 to 5 yrs of drafts to build a winner and we are only in yr 3, they may have believed him. Add in the bad coach they gave him the choice to work with may give him another yr. He did a complete rebuild, Im not sure any GM has ever did that before. Maybe Jim Finks?
-
Everyone gets some of the blame, I trust Poles to find someone than Warren and George. Whether Flus was his choice or not, he has bought into the coahes that came in. i think he is smart and puts him in a better position to make a better choice than constant russian roulette every 3 yrs.
-
Truthfully, I dont disagree with you, i just dont think the Bears are firing him, so I roll with the notion he is going to be here.
