  1. I think we need to wait until after June 1st before we throw the towel in on Brian. Teams will make cuts and clear room- he'll hook up with someone. What team and at what capacity is yet to be seen.
  2. +1....its hard to go crazy over players when they're just running around in shorts. Am I the only person who gets a little ticked off hearing how our ST Coach is going to use our 2nd Round pick on Special Teams when he should have been selected to compete to be our starting MLB? I understand it is good to have a floor in players and Bostic has that- but it bothers me that they would be so excited to have him play STs when indeed he shouldn't have been drafted to do so. Develop 6th and 7th rounders or bring in FAs for that.
  3. We've talked about this quietly all off-season whether or not he'd make the team. I believe he'll make the team as he's cheap/young enough. However, I'm not optimistic he'll ever make a difference up front for us.
  4. Thanks for beating me to this as I heard Howie say this in his interview on the Bears website. His inside information makes me feel really good about the pick.
  5. Don't you love it when people tell you how to do your job? A job that took you extensive schooling, training, researching and being given by that job by top notch people? I agree we need to let Emery work a bit more before jumping down his throat. I feel very very good about Emery's draft.
  6. Now I'm mad....I mean I would have felt better if the Packers/Vikes passed on him.......but damnit all.
  7. I think this is a good way to look at things. I can be content with Emery not only addressing the OLine, but taking a guy he clearly wanted.
  8. I agree- I think he blew it. Maybe there is something Floyd that we don't know about....we weren't the only team to pass.
  9. Too early.....but he's Howie's youngest and he's a monster of a man. I'll live with it.
  10. I think it just goes to show what we all thought on this board in the first place....these QBs aren't worth a spit.
  11. Deal up for Floyd....look G in Rd 2.

Its obvious Scouts are getting the word out that Ogletree isn't a 1st Round pick and that surprises me a bit. Perhaps he was the clown who tore up his hotel room? It wouldn't surprise me. However I'm not sure where you're getting they're rating Brown higher. Kiper has Brown as his 5th best OLB....doesn't even mention him as a MLB. The more and more I hear- I get the feeling we won't be taking a MLB in RD 1.

He'll carry over well with his old HC as well.... but at #8? REAAACCCHHHHH

Just the though of hitting on multiple guys is more appealing than landing one player at 20....a trade down resulting in Ertz and Brown would be huge if they both hit while adding a B. Jones or Schwenke while picking up a 3rd.
  15. Agreed. If anyone recalls there were games where Gannon would throw 40 plus times under Trestman/Callahan...but the ball was out QUICK. That Raiders team would dominate time of possession just about every game they played without running the ball much. Whether or not JC6 can emulate this remains to be seen as his mechanics may never be the same after getting crushed the past four years....which has really hurt his accuracy 10 yards and in IMO. I'm still excited about the possibility, but wouldn't be shocked if the Bears took a QB in RD2 at all. I'd hate it if they did, but I wouldn't be surprised in the least if Trestman wanted to groom his own guy should Cutler not pan out and be gone next year.
  16. You're probably right- but clearing cap space at this point isn't that big of a deal IMO- if I couldn't get a 5th I'd rather the Bears just keep him.
  17. +1 Although Schwenke is everyone's dream pick at 74.....seems too good to be true.
  18. What would Hester's cap hit be if we dealt him? If we could just clear 2.8mil by dealing him for a 5th- I'd be all over it.
  19. I feel that a bold prediction, but fair. I still think another team will give him a starting gig while they groom his replacement at the very least.
