  1. No way Cutler would sign a deal worth 5yr/40mil or 5yr/45mil. To the Bears....he's worth closer to 5yr/75 mil right now IMO---the Bears are a really bad football team without him. 40-45 mil guaranteed maybe....
  2. The organization should have showed some class and retired Samurai's #50 years ago....its upsetting to me and should be to every other Bears fan.
  3. A name I haven't heard mention and I'll do it just to put a sleeper out there: DT out of UNC- Sylvester Williams

    Manti Te'o

I want nothing to do with him.
  5. It just goes to show how much class our organization clearly lacks. I remember when I was in elementary school and I was up late watching a Monday Night Football game when the Giants retired Phil Simms and LT's number on the same night. Those guys couldn't have been retired more than a year or two and they got their jersey retired. I remember asking my dad why the Bears had yet to have retired Singletary's number has he had been retired a year or two before those two....he told me that the Bears organization didn't have half the class that the Giants did. He was right.
  6. I'm with you every step of the way on this thought process. I do however feel Scott and Louis will both be back as the Bears currently have the room to do so. Scott performed well while call upon last year and really got an opportunity with the Bears. I think he'll be a dual backup for us next year at T AND G regardless of what happens as he showed great versatility. Louis is a different animal due to how his rehab has gone and whether or not he'll be ready to go for training camp (everything I've heard indicates he will be). Louis will probably look for a short term deal due having to prove his value again after tearing his ACL...he was our best OL last year and was headed for a big payday in my opinion. In regards to Carimi- I believe his days as a T are over and they should be. I know Carimi as well as anyone on this board being a Madison resident and his father is my Physician. I was thrilled when the Bears drafted him, but KNEW he was going to have to be a RT. It didn't take more than a regular season game for Goose to point out how he "opens his gates" far too easy....especially his left side. However, Carimi is as good in the run as anyone the Bears have. I feel if Carimi was moved inside to G (preferably the right side) he would have inside help and could play up and down more. With those things being said- I don't feel Carimi is penciled in as a starter anywhere and the Bears will dictate what they do with Carimi with what is available to them in the draft and the health/retention of Louis and Scott will also dictate what occurs with Gabe. If Cooper or Warmack at 20- I'm with the majority on this board saying the Bears had better pounce on either of them. If they're not- I believe Fluker could very well be our guy. Either way- Carimi could very well become expendable.
  7. Mathieu has serious mental health problems as well as well documented recent drug history. If you watched the national title game in '12 in his last game vs Alabama....he got worked really bad in coverage. Lets not forget how small he is at Safety as well. He's a great return man, but with his probhems and size issues- he's a 7th Rounder to me.

    Good BR Mock

Do you think Brown will be there in RD2? This draft would be great.
  9. That'd be a dream scenario....and not impossible seeing as that Stanford G fell further than our board thought he would last year... I'd have to think of Warmack fell to the GMen at 19- they'd be in a great spot to trade that pick in front of us.
  10. I just saw your ranking of Fluker as 7th on who Bears should take....I'm not sure if there are 7 players in the whole draft I'd take over Fluker for the Bears.
  11. I always wondered how Dallas just let him go and he looked so great every game I saw him with the Giants..... Now I know why he's on his 3rd team already going into his 5th year. However, Marshall is close to him and he was deemed a cancer by many due to maturity issues. We certainly know how wrong that assumption was. Here is to hoping Bennett reaches his potential in Chicago.
  12. +1 Good luck if the Fins are after him, though.
  13. I still want Fluker if Warmack & Cooper are gone. I know you're a bit sour on him and I get why. I only slightly disagree- no big deal, though. I really feel like Webb would be offer a fine backup as a swing T and Carimi could move inside and allow him to compete strictly at G.
  14. I'm thrilled about Martellus....but wow he's immature.
  15. Good move. While I liked Toe....he didn't play well last year. Also- clearing a little space here and there is how you make cap room. A guy like Spencer should have been cut last year instead of counting almost 3mil against the cap.
  16. I want him at #20 even more now that we have a LT.
  17. A team could work around that- I understand that a tendered player is different from a tagged player, but if the Saints wanted to lower their asking price they could....but they won't...especially to another NFC that is an OL away. The league wouldn't stop the Saints from dealing DLP for a 3rd or 4th Rounder if they wanted to do so. An example was Brandon Marshall after being tagged by the Broncos years ago required if he were traded it would have to be for a 1st in return while they actually took two 2nd Rounders for him from Miami.
  18. Yeah...I do believe Austin to be the man- so much the man he may be gone by 20. However, if he's at 20, which he probably will be- it would be absolutely silly for the Bears to take him with their 1st Round Pick. Whether or not they're able to address one of the T positions in FA- they'd still better look at taking a T or one of the very talented Gs that could potentially fall to 20 or I'll flip. This front office has to make it no way possible to fail up front this year or heads should roll.

    Jake Long

Unless you're Orlando Pace and get tagged like 6 years in a row before the latest CBA....I used to feel bad for him- until he stunk it up for the Bears his last year.
  20. If the Pats give up on him its probably because he cost too much.... we've got too little cap room and too many other pressing needs to get in a bidding war for an older WR with past knee injury history. Pass.
  21. What is Dallas' Cap Room- my guess is they'll be the biggest threat taking Henry should they have room with Marinelli going there.

    Urlacher speaks

I agree and disagree at the same time...he's my all time favorite player and thats saying a lot. However, he has walked across bridges through the years with the Bears organization and nearly set them on fire. Did anyone else think Urlacher was out of line to ask for a new contract back in 2008? I sure as hell did.....reading about his child custody battles while he had a different babe on his arm every time I saw him on TV got annoying. He was essentially in the middle of a mega deal and got an extra $18 mil because he asked for it. Urlacher publicly ripped the Bears for their cancellation of Family Night at Solider Field a few years ago because the field wasn't ready. I felt Urlacher was right to do so, but I can't imagine the McK's appreciated the public bashing from the franchise player they took care of even AFTER having neck surgery in '08. Urlacher also really ticked off a lot people (a lot of us) just a few months ago in regards to his response to the booing. He didn't help himself here and looked like a jackass IMO. With all of this being said- you can't keep Urlacher just because he's a franchise player. If Phil Emery gets good word on Urlachers medical state and feels he can be the Bears MLB for a certain period of time- then we'd all be happy to have Urlacher back. However....if the Bears decide to move in another direction from Brian- that's fine, too. The organization has done enough for him.
  23. We went from 32 to 30.....the Broncos went from 30 to 4.... I want that jump.
