http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/bel...-147462285.html Article on Carrier... Hopefully the Bears could land him as an undrafted FA and perhaps develop him on the practice squad for the next few years.

Great question here. One thing I'm positive of is that ALL 3 won't be there when we pick. Based on need....I'd take Martin. Watching how badly Cut has been pounded the past few years has been troubling to say the least. I don't mean to preach to the choir here, but it's been bad. Add in to the fact that I'm not sold on Webb as a starting LT and Carimi may be injury prone his entire career........the Bears have to address T in the draft. They just have to. Based on best player...I'm going with Floyd. I understand Floyd isn't rated as high as either of these two in most draft rankings, but I just think that much of him. I really believe the Rams will try to deal down a few spots from 6, but if they can't find an offer that favors them enough to ensure them Floyd....they MAY just take him at 6. I'm not going to rule that out at all. If Coples were there......MERCY! I would say he's the least likely of the 3 to be there, however there is some buzz he may fall. I don't have any issue with anyone stating any of the 3 being their choice. However, if I had to choose between the 3...I'd take Martin. If we didn't deal for Marshall, it would be Floyd, but thank god we have Brandon Marshall.

Good question....I'd say no, but that could change.

The latest form the Trib about the alleged victim
rockren replied to madlithuanian's topic in Bearstalk
I'm actually a police officer/criminal investigator, but not familiar with the agency investigating this matter. However, having familiarity with how these investigations are conducted and what it actually means when charges are forwarded to the local District Attorney's Office...I'll offer my .02 considering so much has been speculated or suggested about the investigation. FWIW- I'm guessing I know about as much as we all do reference the details of this incident that have been discussed in the media. We can't get too high or too low whether or not charges are forwarded to the District Attorney's Office on this case because that local agency may do it just to cover their ass. My guess is the District Attorney's Office already have their hands all over this one, but we'll see. Brandon Marshall doesn't have much of a criminal history- he has arrests, but that doesn't mean a hell of a lot when charges are dropped by the Circuit Court if indeed those charges are forwarded to that arena. Keep in mind that police contacts/criminal history are two totally different animals. In regards to possible video/surveillance being available for police- we'll see. Tavern/Bar/Club videos are usually extremely poor....on purpose. Think about it. If you ran a Bar/Night Club would you want every little incident caught on tape? That is a great way to hang yourself in the club business....law enforcement agencies can hang their hat on stripping liquor licenses away in an attempt to clean up troubled areas. Even if the video IS good (it might be) that club doesn't have to give up the video unless a subpoena is drawn. Lets face it...without a cooperative victim...that video won't be subpoenaed. However, this could be much ado about nothing if there indeed is no video. I'd have to imagine all of the witness statements will weight the outcome in every circumstance reference this case. From what I've read/heard about this incident thus far- I'm guessing (take it FWIW) Marshall won't have any criminal charges forwarded by police, let alone picked up by the DA (especially with Marshall being cooperative and the alleged victim being uncooperative). However, I'd be surprised if Marshall got off on this incident without any circumstance from Goodell seeing Big Ben suffered a multiple game suspension without any criminal penalty or charge filed whatsoever. We'll wait and see what happens. -
I highly doubt the Bears are seriously in on Mario Williams after they spoke with Mincey (who re-upped with Jax, but the Bears allegedly tried to sign him). However, we probably shouldn't be too fixated on cap numbers because if the Bears wanted to clear space...they probably could. They may very have a deal worked out with Forte to save a few million off of the cap this year while removing the franchise tag and they may have a trade available for Briggs to clear another 3-4 mil off of the cap. This is all speculation on my part, but if they shaved around $5mil off of the cap and had 18 mil or so available to make a run at Mario and paying him 13mil during his first season....it isn't impossible. Now with all of that worthless speculation on my part...I feel Mario is out of the question for the Bears (but dear God I hope I'm wrong).

Pairing him in the same huddle with Brandon would be an absolute nightmare. He's flopped for what his actual expectations were coming from the U....after all....the guy is a "solider" (I'm sorry. He'll never live that down. Ever.)
-
That would be outstanding.
-
I very much approve.
-
I still really appreciate the Bears effort on this one.

YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

I don't disagree, however....if you're going to blow it up....why not wait another year and give Manning a shot while aqcuiring a bunch of draft picks as well? I know Luck is a special prospect, but MERCY!
-
If this is all spot on (which I believe it to be) then the Colts had no business giving Manning 100 Mil before last year if this is the case. I believe Manning's football team is a 10 win team pretty much no matter what team he plays on....if Luck flops (I don't think he will, but there is never a lock) the Colts never may get back there.
-
Bring back the Waynes and the Clarks.....allow the former Ravens' DC to build a young defense with all of those picks.... they'd compete.
-
I meant the Colts should have kept Manning and deal the #1 for what the Rams got.

But doesn't it kind of defeat the purpose of hiring a Shanahan type coach that Washington paid a ton of money to bring in? Washington is saying, "We can't develop a QB or have the ability to identify what kind of QB we want without selling the farm." It is extremely counter productive to make such a move. If they're betting on RGIII to be Cam Newton- this trade wasn't worth it for the Skins. Not even Cam Newton has the kind of upside to take a below average team and make them a playoff team without any 1st Rounders to help him out for the near future. This was a terrible move by the Skins.
-
If the Skins go 5-11 this year (which they may very well will) does Shanny get more time? How many draft picks are they going to throw at QBs? (remember the 2nd and 4th for McNabb). The first thing I thought was the Colts should have been in on negotiations on this weeks ago and just rolled the dice with Peyton and then had all of these draft picks to fall back on if he didn't work out.
-
Oh you've got that right! I still feel the Bears are a lot more appealing than Washington, but money talks. However, the Bears have outbid the Skins the past two times we've been at the poker table with them in regards to Cutler AND Peppers. I believe the Skins will up the ante for VJax and it may very well cost 5/60/20 to land him in Chicago (which I would still do). The Skins may also be forced to go for quantity rather than quality after this deal.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7668243/...k-st-louis-rams MERCY!!!

Neither can anyone else. Roy is a goner.

It was a good .02 FWIW! However, the Bears need to give Earl a shot at being the #2. I liken this situation to when the Bears cut Bobby Engram years ago so Marty Booker would have a chance to play opposite Marcus Robinson. It just so happened that year Marcus went down early and Booker became a Pro Bowl WR while our 1st Rounder, David Terrell.....well yeah. The way Earl took that Philly game over last year against elite CBs....how can he not get a chance playing #2CBs on the outside opposite a VJax? Earl didn't get that contract extension to be a #3....he got that contract because he was our best WR and he deserves a chance to prove it.
-
I don't think it'll flow this way at all. It will be similar to the Bears scheduling the first visit for Jackson with the best offer and Lovie showing up at VJack's house like he did with Peppers. I believe it'll have to go that way if the Bears expect to land him.
-
I think it makes sense to a degree in that they want a pure pass rusher on the other end of Julius.
-
Add in Brandon Marshall to the mix and Peyton should be able to hit the ground running again if health isn't an issue.
