Bears jumped to meet Jeanty
I think if they can make a strong signing at Dline in free agency, which I think they are going to do, than I really see them taking a OT prospect at 10 and if they need to move up for Campbell to do it I could see them doing it. If it isn't OT, I think it will be dline. I also think if they go OT, we see RB and Dline with the 2 2nd rounders (and if they need to move around in 2nd round to get to right spot value wise they do so). That 3rd rounder I could see being anywhere - potentially a safety or a guard/TE.

Bears jumped to meet Jeanty
I think they grab one of the Colts/Eagles young linemen or one of Bosa/Mack. If they can’t sign Dalman, I could see them trading for a strong center. Than we see a number of picks in the trenches too.

Joey Bosa officially on the market. Been banged up past couple of years so not sure what he has left - but if he could be healthy, pair him with Sweat and a high draft pick and that is a much more ferocious pass rush.

Bears trade for probowl LG
Jackson will be the RG and I suspect Dallas will be the center (for big money). The risk is Dalmatian and Jackson have had some injury issues - but both should have plenty of prime years left. Thuney is the elite vet but quickly on outside of his prime - but still a very good player and a true leader. I suspect they draft an oline with one of their 1st 3 picks and than probably another one with a depth pick (especially if they move back a bit in round one or with one or both of their 2nd rounders to pick up some capital for a te, extra linemen and a rb. I think Dalman and the young Colts Dlinenmen are the 2 big moves Bears make in free agency.

We trade for Joe Thuney
I think Jenkins will get 10M per year.

We trade for Joe Thuney
This guy is a stud - if we are lucky we get 2-3 years of him still at a high level. Oline is significantly better today and I expect another high end draft pick and free agent signing. About time they take this position serious.

We trade for Joe Thuney
Very happy with this move.

Bears trade for probowl LG
I’m thinking they go with a free agent center and Stanley at LT.

Bears trade for probowl LG
Former Lion and still young. Johnson knows him and this allows you to have at least one spot filled. Don’t like trading but this is significantly better than the Bates move. Don’t trade picks for depth players - if you trade, get a starter and someone you expect to start for a while.

I still think free agent center and guard are likely - Smith would have been a lot but he was a high end player. Now we will see where they pivot. But I think Dalman, a free agent guard and someone like Mack are going to be key.

If they stay at 10 - I think it will be a dlinemen or if they grade Simmons out as a true LT (and he passes his medical). If they go guard or they take Jeanty, I think it would be following a trade down.

I think they will draft a guard early (1st or 2nd round), sign someone like Zeitler or Becton and than sign one of the free agent centers. I could even see them making a play at Staley on top of this...just to make sure they cover it. In these scenarios - if they go oline in Rd 1 - I think if it is an interior olinemen, they need to move down in the draft and that gives them a bit more to swing for some dline, oline, rb, and TE which is where the strength's of this draft are.

New Strength and Conditioning Coach Promotion
Huge if they can upgrade at de and push Sweat to DE 2.

Cunningham gone for real this time?
I thought they were bringing in 5 finalists for the first set of in person interviews this upcoming Wednesday. I don’t think he has any connection to Cohen, except for fact they share the same agent.

I do think we'll see Bears cut Everett - but Kmet is a very good all around TE who was mis-utilized. He is coming off a poor season so if next year he goes out and doesn't put up production -than I do think you'd have to ask if he is really worth $10M per year. But he's in his prime years and fairly paid and I expect we'll see a bounce pack in overall production. I also expect we'll see Bears add another TE, maybe 2 - as this is a pretty good TE draft and there should be a number of them available that can make an impact over time between rounds 3-5. Not a high end TE draft - but a very deep TE draft which bodes well (kind of like wideout was last year - which it still pains me we didn't take 2 swings at that spot given the depth of last year's draft).

I think injuries impacted Sweat, but in fairness, I think Sweat is a good, but not great player. However - if you pair him with a more talented mate, he can play at a great level. But on his own, he isn't that sort of player (by the way very few DE's are). If you pair him with Chase Young - neither of whom are great, but it makes things better. If you have another explosive player in the interior - same thing. Compounding agent/effect. I very much could see a scenario where Bears go for an impact dlinemen with their 1st pick, swing big in free agency on line (or even middle on free agency but still center/guard upgrades) and than double down on oline with 2 of the next 3 picks. I for sure see 3 of first 4 picks being on the line (2 oline / 1 dline). Than I probably see RB/TE/DB(or S) in that order. Obviously you still got to play value - but you can also move around quite a bit. I will say - everything gets real interesting if there was a QB or someone at a position Bears weren't interested who slid down to 10 that drove a need for another team to jump up and allowed Bears to get to the middle of the pack. It feels like in this draft there isn't a player that will drive a team within 15-23 to leap up to 10...but we'll know a lot more post combine.

Cunningham gone for real this time?
Haven’t seen or heard that anywhere. He is interviewing tomorrow so I can’t see why they would do that at the moment but I presume they could extend him presuming Poles got extended but I can’t imagine they do while he is interviewing.

It was interesting - all of a sudden been hearing talk of Smith plus Falcons center and than guard in round 2….but on top of that Bears trading for Parsons from Dallas. Im my same self - I just don’t like trading first rounders and than signing guys to big money deals as part of same transaction….but If it was a 1st and future 2nd for 25 year old Parsons and they could do the other items I might just be willing.

Echo that - pure gold.

Cunningham gone for real this time?
He’s interviewing Friday - so we may find out as soon as than. Hopefully if he does go the Bears have someone lined up to bring in as well.

Super Bowl
This probably makes it far less likely Bears can get Smith from Chiefs. May make Sweat and/or Milton Williams more likely to hit free agency. 100 percent agree it highlights the importance of the trenches.

Mother has Passed
A legend - RIP and prayers to her family. But a tremendously kind individual who lived an incredible life.

I was thinking of people like Zeitler - good vet and Johnson knows him. Long in his tooth. Lions I’m sure will try to retain. Chiefs guard - Poles knows him Chase Young - Allen should know whether he matured a year ago and Sweat knows him. But I agree - bears also know work ethic of their own free agents. And free agency is crapshoot so make sure coaches and front office are aligned on skill sets they want but also with new staff from other places leverage all intel you can on what you’ve seen for guys you were around.

Early free agency thread
In my mind I see Bears doing following: Free Agent Starters: FA center (Falcons or Colts centers) FA guard (Chiefs guard is the big swing) DE (Chase Young is my big) FA guard (Zeitler) Depth moves: Depth DT (lower cost - but run stuffer type for depth behind Billings / ensure flexibility in draft) Depth WR (Tim Patrick) Depth Oline (swing tackle and guard - my guess is Pryor is back) This gives Bears a TON of flexibility when they get into draft as interior oline would be significantly revamped with pass rush also upgraded. Allows Bears to swing a few shots but be in a position where they could develop as well.

Trade out of first?
They will get a 1st and a future 2nd is my guess - but I could see them getting 2 1sts. 3 is way too much in my opinion and I stick to all is too rich for the Bears given the other needs at play.
