  1. I think it is also important to not play a couple guys, specifically Urlacher and Harris (the last thing I want to see is either of those guys get hurt). Urlacher has been playing hurt all year and I'm sure he'll end up finishing the season but in Harris case there is no excuse to have him out there (the guy is pratically playing on one leg and is going to need off-season surgery, why not let him get it now so he has an extra month or so to get ready for camp).
  2. True...but than again is anyone quite like Saban? I think it would be hillarious if Miles ended up going to Michigan and somehow Saban left Bama to come back to LSU (not that it will happen, I just think it would be funny).
  3. By the way, was stumbling on the other board and just wanted to say CONGRATS!!!!!
  4. Wait, Miles is heading out (didn't he agree to an extension a week or so ago)?
  5. Hey Kingston. Its been a long time, good to see ya over here. From what I know Pixote is doing good. I know he's been working hard but hopefully he can chime in on this thread (he registered today and is working on sending out the email to all the members of Bearstalk).
  6. Soxtalk is a White Sox website (not a Bears site) that I run (it is on the same server as this forum and uses the same software). There are quite a few members of that site that are Bear fans and I'm sure we'll see some of them join on up here and start posting amongst us. Looking forward to that Salary cap analysis. Once you got it posted, we can throw up a link on the header portion so people can have access to it throughout the season.
  7. I'm very hopeful that all of the regular's at Bearstalk.com will make it over here and I'm even hoping when we send the mass email out we'll end up seeing some former members make their way back over to the new digs.
  8. This is what will have to happen for the Bears to make the playoffs this year: Bears must win out. Minnesota, Arizona, Detroit, and Washington must lose two of their next three games. Most of them plays at least two teams that can beat them. Arizona has an easier schedule, but didn't look so hot today. Carolina must lose one game.
  9. You are probably right. I think we all had super high expectations and since none of us have seen him play good in a Bears uniform we've kind of written him off. He would have to renegotiate his contract though since he's due like a $5M bonus or something this off-season.
  10. Anthony Adams was a teammate of Kennedy's and he has been surprisingly solid for the Bears (I really like the way he defends the run). Too bad Adams has had some injury issues all season.
  11. Haha, I knew the comparison was someone I should be ashamed of.
  12. I want to throw this option out there for those more comfortable with outlined layout of the old board. If you are in a thread, hit the options button (near the top of the thread) and than look at the display options (I think that is what it is called) select the option for "outline" (this option will give you a more similar layout to what was on the old forums).
  13. Interesting. I remember at the time of the draft that Kennedy was thought of in a similar light to that of Tommie Harris. I remember Harris being more explosive with Kennedy being the bigger body that would be a so called sure fire run stuffer. Things definitely didn't pan out for Kennedy but maybe, just somehow, a change of scenery will do him good and he'll turn into a quality depth guy on the Bears line for next season (behind Dusty/Tommie/Adams). I fully expect Darwin Walker to be long gone.
  14. I'd love to see Williams find a way to slide into Briggs spot with Urlacher taking a seat for the rest of the season (lets see if he can get healthy for next year). This way the Bears can see what Briggs can do at MLB, plus they get to see Williams on the field which will give them an idea if he can replace Briggs (if the Bears opt not to sign him) or if they end up using Williams instead of Hillmeyer.
  15. One of the things we will try to set up in the coming week's is a chat room which people can use during game's as well as during things like the NFL draft (I know we had one on the old forums and we'll definitely have one on here).
  16. It is funny what can happen in a year. Last year the Bears were favorites to go back to the Super Bowl (now they aren't going to make the playoffs) and the Falcons were just an improved Mike Vick away from being a major contender all while the Texans were continuous bottom feeders. Now the Texans are the only team (albeit their hope isn't much better than the Bears) with a shot at the playoffs and they've done all that with about a zillion guys on IR.
  17. Dang, that is a short time at Atlanta. It just goes to show that the biggest mistake you can make is giving ridiculous money to a college coach that has proven nothing in the NFL. This is a great hire for Arkansas though. They seemed to go after all the big names and failed, than after getting a lot of heat in the media, they end up pulling a horse-shoe out of there butts and get an even better candidate. I can't say this is a major loss for the Falcons cause I think there are probably better guys to hire than Petrino anyway and those guys will cost much less money. The Falcons are in pretty terrible shape though.
  18. Oh god, that goes way back and I can't even think who I would have been compared to.
  19. For those of you that have made way onto this forum from Soxtalk.com (an independent White Sox message board, which I have run for a number of years, that is on the same server as Bearstalk) here's just an FYI: This Bears site is Bearstalk.com (we are hoping to get the original domain name back) and the site will be ran and operated by all of the admins from Bearstalk (Pix, Myself, Connor, Iggy, Neo, Bearman, MBM, Bowlingtwig, LemonJ, & DB). Bearstalk is a Chicago Bears community that started over 7 years ago (may even be 10 years old). The site was originally part of the old NFL fans network and than that network merged in with the Rivals network and became known as Dabearsshrine, which than was transitioned upon the closure of the original rivals into a site called Bearstalk.com. Bearstalk.com was part of the sports-infinity/nflfans network for a number of years until recent events that occurred in the past couple days, which led the site to become independent. As such, the admins at Bearstalk got together and we came up with the idea of relaunching the site seperate from the network (ie, this forum). I look forward to seeing the new members (who came from Soxtalk's old Bears board) mesh in with the Bearstalk.com tradition of being the best & oldest (I can't think of many sites that have been open for as long as Bearstalk) Bears community on the web!!!!
  20. DBDB back in the days of Dabearsshrine, DBDB at Bearstalk, and still DBDB.
  21. They better use a lot of Clark and Olsen because those two guys should really be able to make things a bit easier for Orton (We probably have one of, if not the best TE duo in the league and Turner needs to utilize the heck out of it).
