Berrian eyes more than Bears have offered
Are you stupid or just hate Berrian for some reason? No doubt that is a ton of doe, that I likely wouldn't give Berrian, but if I had to choice to give that type of money to, Berrian or Stallworth, it would be Berrian everyday of the week. You'd have to be insanely stupid to think Stallworth is as good as Berrian. There's a reason why Stallworth is going to be with his 4th team in as many years.

Berrian to visit Vikes
we shoulda just franchised him. 24.5 over the first 3 years would be ridiculous.

Is there an argument to move up in the draft?
I have been thinking about this a lot, and this is my plan right now. If Mendenhall is there at 14, draft him. He is just an amazing prospect right now and with they way RB is valued now-a-days, he could last till 14 (even though he is looking more and more like a top 5-10 talent). Then, keep our second rounder, but package our two 3rds and a future 2nd (and more?) to move up to the early 2nd or even late 1st round range. With those two picks, go with Gosder Cherilus and Joe Flacco. That, in the first day we get two guys who can contribute right away and in the future, and someone who will hopefully make a big impact on the future.

Cut Benson - Draft Mendenhall
Why cut Benson and LOSE MONEY and then just go back to having a rookie who is not proven to be any better... that would make no sense at all and be absolutely stupid. I'm not completely against drafting Mendenhall, but if we do, we'd be smart to keep both.

Fox Sports latest Mock
who wouldn't? I have been against drafting a RB early, but Mendenhall just keeps getting more and more tempting.

Moose signed, Carr released
Ah, so Rex Grossman is good!?

Sean Salisbury resigns from ESPN
I hope to god NFL Network doesn't pick him up.

HUGE WR class this year
the only WR I would really want from this class would be Devin Thomas. No one else really excites me. Personally, since Devin Thomas will be a 1st round pick, I'd be content with someone like Jordy Nelson in the 4th.

Pats to release Colvin
If Gholston is there when the Pats pick, he will most likely be a Patriot. But I doubt he is there. The Pats really need to find another ILB though. Playing Adalius Thomas was serviceable at ILB for them, but his bread and butter is at OLB in the 34.

Drafting Our New Strong Safety
In our system, Woodyard would be more of an MIKE/WILL... similar to Rod Wilson.

Chicago Bears News/Discussion Catch-All Thread
god, I hope not.

Drafting Our New Strong Safety
Phillips isn't anything like Ed Reed or Sean Taylor, but he is still a first round pick.
-
Drafting Our New Strong Safety
Manning has shown good coverage skills at FS and if he could tackle, no one would be complaining at all.
-
Drafting Our New Strong Safety
wow, I wonder what Manning did to everyone to make everyone hate him so. So far Manning hasn't been great, but he's been a good and very serviceable FS. If he works on his tackling, we'll be fine at FS.
-
Drafting Our New Strong Safety
Phillips would be nice but SS is not our no. 1 priority in the draft this year. Barrett and Demps will both last beyond the 2nd round as well. This safety class is terrible.

MIN's Williamson to JAX
This still doesn't fix Jacksonville's lack of a deep threat at receiver due to the fact Williamson sucks.
-
Jonathan Vilma
what, who said he struggles in the 4-3? He would be an outstanding 4-3 Cover 2 ILB. That is the role he fits best into. Playing ILB in a 3-4 really is not a good use of his talent.

The Flacco Love
Because he was the guy. There have been numerous times where the better player sits frankly because the other guy is the main guy.
-
The Flacco Love
The reason why he didn't play at Pitt was because Palko was their guy and he was going to remain their guy until after he graduated... plus, I wouldn't want to play under Wannstedt either Basically, his choices were to back up Palko until his senior year, transfer to a different FBS school but not start right away, or go to a lesser school like Delaware but start right away. I can't blame him for wanting to play right away.

ESPN INsiders FA O-linemen
he said competition will be brought in, but ain't no way he drafts someone in the first 2 rounds or spends a crap load of cash on a FA like Turner. If he does, that's just stupid.
-
ESPN INsiders FA O-linemen
It would be completely idiotic to focus on RB over OLine, QB, DLine, WR, S, and perhaps even LB. And for all we know, with a better OLine and passing game, Benson might not be so terrible.

ESPN INsiders Running back list
Atari Bigby isn't really any good. He likes to lay the wood, but I think I could get free and catch a pass with him covering me.
-
The Flacco Love
What's not to like about Flacco? Great size, good mobility and pocket presence, great arm, and is smart. If he fixes his footwork and just gains experience and knowledge in the NFL for a year or two, we are talking about potentially the best QB out of this years draft. Also, Delware is good enough to be in the FBS and could of beat a lot of FBS schools.

Griese to go; Orton to be extended
I could really see the Bears trading up later on in the 1st round and drafting Flacco. I see OT being the selection at 14.

Bearstalk Mock
Levi Brown ran a 5.4 last year and was the 5th overall pick.
