  1. I lost Montgomery the week before and now Wilson last night also. Long road to hoe from here.
  2. Understandable considering how low Nagy's game plan and play calling against the Browns would of been rated had there ever been such a rating.
  3. Maybe from a little g god. Momma Bear.
  4. So what happened from Monday, we have a plan and if healthy Dalton is still the starte,r to we always said we would see when Fields is ready in one day? Don't really care but it seems somehow they have chosen Fields and Lazor going forward and that's OK with me.

    So now what?

I have spent the last few years dogging Nagy, his scheme, and play calling. Pace's draft strategy, free agent choices. It is what it is and I need to change how I process those choices. I have listened to a few different opinions over the past week on things. !. With Nagy turning play calling over to Lazor I think it can give him a better perspective during the game. Instead of his head buried in the play call sheet looking for his next magic bullet he can see how the game is going. Maybe not so many "I didn't see the play" comments He said so when asked about the hurry up call on I believe the Robinson or Moony toe tape catch. He knew it was a catch but told Lazor to hurry up and forced the Lions to call a time out. Coach speak after the fact? Maybe, but shows that he at least got his head out of the ass, err, play sheet and watched the game unfold. 2. Learning form someones past mistakes is hard. And Nagy is a stubborn as anyone to admit his. His press conf. Sunday night was more of a see I know what I'm doing. Wrong time, wrong place for his remarks. But I think he was way over reacting to the shit storm he faced because of his mistakes, all week and his pride was hurt. He should be tougher but maybe, maybe he just might be learning. If he ever takes the play calling back I guess not. 3. I don't understand his mind games about who will start at QB, or who is going to call plays. This team is just not good enough to make any team really worry about who is doing what. I think they know if they just plan for the limitations the Bears have they will be OK. No one on this team scares anyone at this time on offense. 4. He seems to be a good head coach that keeps his players motivated and lets them have fun. If he could just realize that's his strength and not having control of the offense during game day he might just might turn out OK. But is he to stubborn?

    2021 Choice

I passed that age a long time ago. I'm confused as to who to start at QB going forward. But part of me thinks that Nagy would prefer to have Dalton because he thinks he is better suited to run "his" offense. More short timed routes and other such stuff. I'm afraid that if he puts Dalton in he will go back to calling plays to show how great is offense is. I would rather have Fields-Lazor than Dalton-Nagy

    2021 Choice

Isn't the the blue pill what all men over 60 take?

    Week 4 Grades

I agree with both. If a tip changes pass interference rules how does it not change touching a players helmet. And yea he did fumble but the rule does say once the play is blown down by contact it is what it is. Did not another play on the Bears where he rolled off the tackler and not allowed to continue the play?

    Week 4 Grades

I appreciate your insite. but I can't agree with your assessment of the def. The lions were beating the bears Def, IMIO, almost all game. The snap that hit Goff was a Lion play not the Def. Incompetent teams doing incompetent things. The stops on fourth down twice was Cambell being a Lions coach. Take the six points and live to fight another day. I put more of the blame on the Lions for only scoring 14 points than anything the Bears did. We'll see in the next three weeks how well this D is. And yea the Lions are not a good team yet but if they put together two halves like they have played one in almost every game and they will be a tough out.

    Week 4 Grades

Good write up Adam. Hope you get paid well for all the work you do on this site. I on the other hand is a harder grader or maybe just an old grump.. While grading on the curve is the only reason I made it thru High School I'm not a fan of it when grading this football team. I would knock almost all the grades down a grade except for maybe the running backs. They won the game for them. OL is no higher than a C. Any team in the pros should expect their OL at the worst do what the Bears did this week. Not a good Def faced Sunday. TE fail. Def on a whole C- The Lions went up and down the field at will and if they did not do Lions things they could of won. They had almost 100 yards in the first half running the ball. The Lions! Leaving nine points on just not converting in the read zone. They should be expected to win this game against one of the three teams at their level considering the talent this team has. Now in the over all picture they played a great game vs last week. But that seems to be accepting mediocrity as your starting point. As a fan for over 60 years I am just grumpy enough now that I'm tired of accepting a team in the bottom half of the league for most of the past five decades when I see so many teams around the league contending every year for decades or able to get to the top and change a lot and get back up there.
  11. Why I tuned in to watch Payton every Sunday in the late 70's early 80's. Monty's not Payton but he gets more from less as you said than almost everyone else and fun to watch. I hope but don't expect to see him running behind an at least average OL. Sadly it will most likely be on another team or too late.
  12. The Bears game plan. All three QB's will be standing on the side lines throwing footballs with helmets on. Nagy, Lazor and Defilipo. Each coach will be standing next to each QB's with a play sheet over their mouths and when the flip is won or the first off. play is to be called they will open one of the three doors to announce the winners.
  13. I know this will be a bad take and unpopular. Hire Mike Florio for Press of football operations. No personnel decisions just for office stuff. Legal guy, knows the league., has a ton of contacts, knows to keep his nose out of the football side. Hire Louis Reddick for GM and let him hire the best candidates for coaches. Oh and do it this week.
  14. Cagey? Hes a fool and has no idea who should start. The have a plan. 149 days they have been working the PLAN and this is what we got. A QB who played zero reps in a game or most practices with the ones until the last week. A scheme and play calling that would of gotten all three killed. But maybe his real plan was to just keep Fields on the sidelines so he could hold off getting fired for another two years. His wild card in the hole. He's ruined one first round QB he does not deserve the chance to even try with another.

    Rookie QBs

Like built in GPS. Let's just meet at the spots every play. It doesn't really mater who built the team, players on the roster, the play of everyone,, and I think they all have to change or play better. When the HC can't scheme or call plays any better then that the HC has to be the first to go. He's proven he can 't coach up anyone or call plays that will work no matter what the personnel is. He can't be trusted to turn Fields into anything except another MT.

    Rookie QBs

I don't have the stats exact but on twenty drop backs the had 5 oline only to block. Where end two or three tight ends back there to chip, stay in protection? Even when running the the ball. After the first quarter they should of gone max on every play no matter what. Did not even try moving the pocket until midway thru the 2nd qt.
  17. All the high mucky mucks said they needed to see progress. This coach and GM are going backwards.
  18. Looks like one good hit would knock him out of game. Hope he doesn't get hurt.

    Nagy Playcalling

I had said for years if your coach and GM can't show real progression not regression after three get rid of them both.

    Nagy Playcalling

"It takes four years to learn my offense". According to Nagy. We have not had a QB on the roster for two! Not had five starting OL together for half a season let alone a year or two. We need to find the whys. He's been here for four years and still has not found the whys.
  21. I don't think anyone would trade for him at this time. The team trading for him would want to sign a long term deal before any trade. They might be able to get him for free at the end of the year.
  22. Pace has spent more future;re capital in money and draft picks to make up for his past mistakes every year kicking the can down the road. Like refinancing you 20 yer mort. back up to 30 to pay off your credit cards and then pile them up again. He should of realized after 2019 that this team was not what he thought it ws. No qb, no of line, aging vets. Yet he still made questionable hires trying to win now. And I still think he feels like they are only one of two players away from turning it around. I know this has been said many times before but it just seems like they are digging the hole deeper and deeper and can't put the shovel down. Someone just has to take it away. Little chance of that. In 2018 I thought we had found our GM, Coach and QB. Now we hope we have found our QB but I have no faith the other two can develope him to become as great as we all hope he can be.
  23. I've lost total faith in Nagy as a OC and play caller. I have not seen any evidence of him able to create a scheme and have a game plan and play calling to optimize their best players How often does a coach pull his best offense player after he runs for 41 yards. Whould you pull Payton, Sanders, Faulk, Smith, on and on. Your Rookie QB comes in and runs one nine yard pass to the one. He then takes him out for the mobile Dalton. He then has the smallest player, Byrd, to come in and block on some stupid shovel pass Thant ends up getting your LT rolled up on after losing your starting LT. The QB whisper'er has not done anything to whisper to a QB and the that playe improver. Oh he has a plan, and he helped Mahomes into a future HF. I think that happened despite of him. I don't believe it matters who he starts, tor ties o coach up. He is at best a 50-50 coach,.why should anyone believe in him to turn Fields into a franchise QB and not Ryan Leaf.
