I don't think anyone would trade for him at this time. The team trading for him would want to sign a long term deal before any trade. They might be able to get him for free at the end of the year.

Pace has spent more future;re capital in money and draft picks to make up for his past mistakes every year kicking the can down the road. Like refinancing you 20 yer mort. back up to 30 to pay off your credit cards and then pile them up again. He should of realized after 2019 that this team was not what he thought it ws. No qb, no of line, aging vets. Yet he still made questionable hires trying to win now. And I still think he feels like they are only one of two players away from turning it around. I know this has been said many times before but it just seems like they are digging the hole deeper and deeper and can't put the shovel down. Someone just has to take it away. Little chance of that. In 2018 I thought we had found our GM, Coach and QB. Now we hope we have found our QB but I have no faith the other two can develope him to become as great as we all hope he can be.

I've lost total faith in Nagy as a OC and play caller. I have not seen any evidence of him able to create a scheme and have a game plan and play calling to optimize their best players How often does a coach pull his best offense player after he runs for 41 yards. Whould you pull Payton, Sanders, Faulk, Smith, on and on. Your Rookie QB comes in and runs one nine yard pass to the one. He then takes him out for the mobile Dalton. He then has the smallest player, Byrd, to come in and block on some stupid shovel pass Thant ends up getting your LT rolled up on after losing your starting LT. The QB whisper'er has not done anything to whisper to a QB and the that playe improver. Oh he has a plan, and he helped Mahomes into a future HF. I think that happened despite of him. I don't believe it matters who he starts, tor ties o coach up. He is at best a 50-50 coach,.why should anyone believe in him to turn Fields into a franchise QB and not Ryan Leaf.

Nice start. But just to disappointment to add much more. But Nanni does not hold his players accountable and no one above him does hold him accountable,.
-
Maybe six posts after the first game of the season on a bears blog. Very disappointing. And just once I would love to hear Nanni rip him self and some of his players. Not in a Ditka way just try and light a fire under his players. Fire them all!

Montgomery should at least gotten ten more carries. Why limit him to what 20 carries( He was running his ass off.
-
Just got the first JF rookie card from Panini. One of only 4301. Took a month. Yea I now it's nerdy. But when He becomes the goat it will be worth 500 bucks. And I will be dead.

I'm going to disagree a little. Goodwin, Byrd, and the others, while on paper, seem to be an upgrade. We really have no way to know. None of them played in Preseason and are unknown. The OF line has a 39 year old left tackle who has not been able to play 16 games for what, the last three years. Ifedi is at best maybe a Massie who can stay healthy. But so far this year he has not. Mustipher is a a dozen or so biscuits light and struggles with top DF players. Borom is a fifth round rookie who we have no idea what his play will be. The last time we had to start a fifth round tackle was Leno. The rest are just journey men who we got off the garbage heap. And even if Jenkins makes it back this year we have no idea what kind of player he is. He's yet to even practice. Not to mention or CB's The two we brought back that no one else wanted. Yea on paper the rooster may look better but I just have no faith it is. And throw in the fact that not one of our cuts were picked up and all made it to our practice squad also makes me worry.

I now agree they both have to go. I don't care if Fields becomes a HOF in the future. Pace got lucky. Every year he gives away draft picks and gets what in return? This year alone he cut four picks, two from this draft? For every two picks he gives up to move up he gets maybe a good player. I don't think he's gotten better than a 33% return on any draft over the last six years. And that's not counting his crap rec. with FA's.

Better than he did here.
-
Or the running back kicked it outside to the left. Don't know what hole he saw.

Our great coach Nagy comes up with this great words of wisdom. "What are the why's, what are the why's. When we all understand what the whys are. What ever the whys are". I have lost what ever little faith I had in him. 6-11 this year.

I was referring to Parcells and Lonbardie on their thoughts on things and how this team does things wrong. VS someone like me thinking I could do better.
-
"Trubisky revenge game. Watch him go off and throw 3 TDs in the first half. That would suck lol." I hope you placed a large bet on that!
-
I was wondering if they had a trade offer for Hicks that did not work out and that's why they took him off the field the other day.
-
I understand Monty and Goodwin. But you had most of your first string D out there including Mack. Why not the starting WR's? Is it to get a chance to see all the others to find out who are going to make the roster. Did not see the game busy painting but from the sound of it, it sure sucked.
-
Let's just hope he still has some game left. Maybe they got him on the cheap because no one believed he could still play. Still no risk it no biscuit.

I love listening to Riddick and hope at some point he works for the Bears. Great interview. https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2021/8/16/22627833/chicago-bears-wouldnt-shocking-see-justin-fields-start-week-1-louis-riddick-rich-eisen-andy-dalton

"Being able to honestly assess his talent compared to the talent available — especially when injuries occur — is one of the biggest challenges general managers face in camp. The hardest part in solving that problem occurs when a young player with no experience is next in line. Do you trust your judgment that he can handle the job? More importantly, is your judgment tainted because of a prior draft or financial investment in the player? Are the assistant coaches unwilling to work with an unproven player and beg for a veteran who knows what to do which then forces stagnation with young talent? Hall of Fame coach Bill Parcells called the crying for a veteran to replace a young player “a progress stopper” because when you sign a veteran to overtake the young player, his progress toward becoming a contributor to the team vanishes."
-
I'm sorry, I did not put it into context, it's about replacing an injured player in training camp with a free agent vet vs young players you already have on the roster If you access the article and read it would be much better than anything I try to say.
-
So I've beat the horse to death. I read a story from Lombardi, on the Athletic, who I enjoy reading. He's done more in his first week of his career than I have every done. It's a good read in my option. The main story line is should the Colts get Foles or not. But a lot of things he says about injuries and how it affects young players who you thought were good enough to draft and then you go out and find a veteran to replace the injured player, "Hall of Fame coach Bill Parcells called the crying for a veteran to replace a young player “a progress stopper” because when you sign a veteran to overtake the young player, his progress toward becoming a contributor to the team vanishes." So I'll accept the situation as it is going forward. I also found this interesting in the context of our QB situation and how it has been handled in the past and present. "The worst thing any team can do is sign a player, assume debt and then still need a player at that position." GM101 vs someone sitting on their ass at home bitching, perhaps like me?
-
I've read and watched all teams find ways to get around the cap to keep players. Perhaps they did everything they could to keep Leno. But I think at the time they drafted Jenkins they felt ok letting him go. Draft the same players they did no reason to change that. But to go into training camp with no one who has ever played left tackle in the NFL just doesn't make sense to me.
-
Beating the dead horse again. Sorry to horse lovers. We don't have anyone who has played LT in an NFL game on the roster. Even if everyone gets healthy we still won't. Depth is great at all positions. Where is it at LT? Name anyone on the roster who we should be looking forward to playing the position other than Jenkins. And he has never taken a snap at LT in the NFL.
-
And everyone else in the NFL. Thats not sarcastic at all. But if he's not the stud we all hope he will become with this roster we are in big trouble.
