Lake Forest police were later stationed at Halas Hall on Wed. after #Bears security escorted Jeremiah Ratliff off Halas Hall premises.

What happened? Goldman developed faster than expected?

Has to be off-field related somehow.

Surprised they couldn't work out a trade or anything. Very odd.

If he flipped out because he was getting cut then I kind of understand getting upset. If he flipped out over something and then got cut, figure it out dude. Pace is your boss, have a little respect.

Wow. Apparently he and Pace got in a verbal fight yesterday and he was cut today. Will be interesting to see if more details come out.

I recall watching a game where Ziggy looked pretty good. No idea if he's healthy though. If he's not healthy we're looking at Sutton-Goldman-Jenkins with Unrein as the only backup I can think of.

Interesting character this Ratliff guy. On the one hand a multiple pro-bowl player with boat loads of experience. But underneath it all there was something that just seemed 'off'. I recall when he first left the Cowboys and officially changed his name from Jay to Jeremiah. There was an locker room interview, I believe, where someone referred to him as Jay and he sorta went off about how he no longer was Jay and should be called Jeremiah. That could be just a glimmer of what percolated. And for him to come in after being suspended for the first four games and being on thin ice already pull this? That is if there truly was a 'verbal altercation'.

Going with the youth movement and that they are being successful, so far, with it. This makes more sense on the surface.

my best friends son is a Lake Forest Fireman..my friend texted me last night about this..."supposedly" Ratliff came to Halas Hall yesterday "all drugged up"..after words were exchanged he was told he was cut...he left...came back and began threatening coaches, players and players kids who were present saying he was the devil..the police were called but he took off before they arrived..at that time his whereabouts were unknown...take this for what its worth but I believe it to be true..

Real bizarre if true..

I found this nugget interesting (and something I wasn't previously aware of). Yet another stark difference in the way things are ran today vs. a year ago. Their is a lot less tolerance for this stuff and as a result people understand their are consequences to their actions (vs. the Trestman era).

Last Dec. 26, Ratliff caused a disturbance at what turned out to be coach Marc Trestman's final practice, and he was escorted out of the facility by team personnel that day. Still, he was allowed to start the season finale at the Minnesota Vikings that Sunday.

And he was named team captain for that game by Trestman! Don't forget that.

So Biggs pretty much confirms the rumor I posted before.

Wednesday's fireworks began in Lake Forest when Bears officials judged that Ratliff arrived at team headquarters not in a condition to work, according to sources. When the team sent Ratliff home from the facility, an argument ensued.

Ratliff, according to one source, later returned to Halas Hall twice more and had another intense vocal altercation with Pace outside the facility before being sent home again

That's part of his article there, but it fits with the "being drugged up" rumor, and the fact that he came back TWICE makes it even more likely. Shame..

Dan Bernstein on the score has been throwing a fit over this. When will the local media learn that this new regime does not cater to them. News does not come easily from this regime and I kind of like it that way. Ratliff screwed up big time and the Bears did their best to protect the player and his privacy by withholding this. Hopefully he gets his life together because the NFL is a privilege to be in and make a living from.
