I see a lot of media blaming the injuries to Love, then Jacobs, but in reality, Willis and Wilson were better. If you compare Willis and Love, you would think Love is the backup. Wilson also had double the yards per carry than Jacobs.

Willis played a lot better than I was expecting him to.

Shady McCoy I think said it best regarding Willis vs. Love.  First off...LeFleur is a really good play caller.  When plays break down Love is unsure what to do.  Willis might not be as good reading the field but if it's not there he just goes into scramble mode.  You literally saw it play out when Love had to pull the ball down and then ran head first into Austin Booker.  I've been alluding to that...cover the backend and then get pressure on Love and he's a different QB.  We don't have the horses for that up front yet.

Conversely...Get pressure on Caleb at your own risk.

Watson did not get set on the first play of the game, but it wasn't called. In the 4th quarter, DJ is gassed running back to the line, basically does the same thing Watson did, but they called it on Moore.

Also, no holding calls on GB, even with Willis running a few times.

For Caleb, there seems like there is an emphasis to look to pass over running, unless you absolutely have to. Like he is trading 4-5 yards on the ground for the potential for something in the pass game. Last year, he ran most of the time.

and talk about high pressure TD passes:

4th Down, 4th Quarter to tie the game, passes to a UDFA rookie, then follows it up in OT with a bomb to Moore, both passes in windy weather.

It was a bad call on Moore…he was fine and it had no bearing on the play etc. I thought refs were pretty one sided yesterday (in fairness I thought Bears maybe had a slight benefit on calls in the first meeting). But there was a play or two where they should have been a pass interference on Packers (one was where Kmet got mugged early) and I thought the first roughing passer was borderline and still thought the Brisker one was somewhat borderline (but can’t argue it). The 2nd one Booker got gets called everytime…sucked the timing of the head going down.

I also thought Packers got away with a couple holding calls on Jarrett.

Out of his hand I thought he literally was throwing it away and I was like oh crap and than camera angle pans down and it’s oh hell yeah…than it goes to replay and I’m like don’t show a bobble or a foot not getting down (live I thought it was a TD but I’d been wrong before)

Lafleur called a real good game and made some nice adjustments the whole way. Packers DC did a nice job as well - bears weren’t ready for them to dial up the blitzes as much but finally adjusted late. But there were a few clear blitzes and hot route wasn’t executed right (not sure if it was qb or wide out or what)

Question. If DJ didn't catch the winning TD in the endzone, would the refs have called DPI against the Packer player draped over his back before the ball even arrived? My guess is that, given how the refs have disrespected the Bears pretty much all season, it would have been a no-call.

I wouldn't have called it.

Wife and I were talking about it.  One angle did show the defenders arm over Moore’s face which I would think that would have been called.  The thing that makes me think they wouldn’t have is there were no flags thrown.  Generally even if there is a score the flags are still thrown a higher percentage of the time.

At the end of the day, thankfully we don’t have to worry about it.

I'm ecstatic that we won the game. But, this has to be one of the games where I have to say it is not deserved. We were poor on all phases of the game and I'm embarrassed in how we played against the Packers. Johnson needs to call the game better, and how the defense played after Love went down was disgraceful. Was this poor play from the players or was this down to Dennis Alen being piss poor with his play calling.

No.  The defender had a right to the ball and didn't hinder DJ's attempt to catch.

That only applied if the defender is looking back at the ball.  No such effort was made.

I think our D line was terrible, and it was, and it has been and will be all year, but I think we played pretty well in other phases?

That was my thinking. He wasn't playing the ball; he was reacting to DJ's reaching for it. The defender not only made major contact before the ball arrived, but also had his hands in DJ's face (at first I thought it was grabbing the face mask, but then, on watching it again, he was covering it with his hands).

I am certainly not as well-versed in these manners as Mongo, but to me it was a DPI. I guess it is a good thing I am not a ref. LOL

First part, yes.  Second part, didn't matter, because he didn't move or hinder DJ.

Scratch the first part.  The DB did look back.  That's what made him attack the way he did.  Out of respect, I watched again...

And his arm around DJ's neck well before the ball appears? That was PI, but we all know it wouldn't have been called.

These are only PI if they are in a Bears uniform.

That's the league rule to refs, right? LOL

Not sure which angle you saw but on the film breakdown I only see the DB look back once and then for the last ten yards of that play his eyes are only on DJ.

Also why wasn’t the cheap shot the DB  did to Moore in the first quarter, not called, which will make him feel sore today. For me that was a Charles Martin type play.

I was disappointed that Rome and Luther weren’t fit to play, but it might bode well over the next 2 games, if it helps them to be fully fit.

It’s a shame our dline is not stronger. I hope this is not something that affects us in the playoffs.
