Now has 48 receptions for 622 yards and 5 TDs on the season. That is the most for a Bears TE since Kmet's 719 in 2023 (on 73 receptions). 

In the Super Bowl era, Dikta, Dewveal, Bennett, and Kmet are the only TEs in Bears history to have 650+ receiving yards in a season. Desmond Clark had 626. 

Loveland is having the 2nd best season in Bears history for a rookie TE, only to Dikta's 1,076 yards and 12 TDs in 1961 (in 14 games which is insane). 

 

Loveland also has a +43.2 REC EPA, 3rd to only McBride and Kittle. McBride has 161 targets, Loveland has 69.

It's looking like the Bears got 4 high level impact players from last year's draft. Burden, Loveland, Trapillo, and Monangai are all starting caliber players who are not just out there, but have been major pieces in this offensive resurgence. You couldn't ask for a more ideal outcome. The Bears may have found their new #1 receiver, their LT, TE, and complimentary RB all in the same class. Remarkable.

Is Ryan Poles better at drafting when he doesn’t have to put so much effort into the QB position?  That goes for his entire staff too.

Not sure.  I know he benefited from Detroit and New Orleans respective scouting departments.  I'm sure BJ, DA and Rousher will be tremendous resources going forward.

He has been solid with his first and second round picks it seems like the third rounders is his boogyman. He also has hit on late rounds.

Not all rookies develop at the same timeline. Several other picks could turn into starters.

I don’t think so. I think it all correlates to what I’ve been saying for years about the OL. Fix the OL and suddenly other players can perform. With last year’s OL, people would be saying Williams might be a bust, Swift is wasted money, Burden can’t get open, and Monangai can’t find a hole.

A good oline is critical to being a good team. Fact that Caleb went from 68 sacks to 23 (with one game left) really is the most shocking stat of the season. Huge kudos from the line to coaches to front office and of course Caleb. But it is like night and day in terms of his development.

Bingo. Good if not great OL and everything changed. Now the Bears are suddenly an offensively oriented team with weapons all over the place. A team to be feared. Getting kudos on a national stage. Ranked highly. Caleb is being called a budding superstar. Etc. 

OL is why the draft class looks good.
