Giants are playing tonight, so I wanted to start this thread before the game. It will be interesting to see if they win and start the season 3-0. I thought the initial line of Bears -3 was very telling. Vegas thinks this is an even game on a neutral field. They will have the short week. Without the 3rd game for the Giants, the team stats will be a little skewed, but I will update later. 157 yards on 20 carries, 2 TD, 2 receptions, 12 yards. There have only been 18 games since 2002 where a player had 150+ yds, on 20 or less carries, at least 2 TDs, 2 receptions, and 10+ receiving yards. 16 players to do it, Tomlinson and Jonathan Taylor are the only 2 to do it twice ( from 2002-2022). The last 5 before Herbert were Taylor x2 (20/21), Aaron Jones (20), McCaffrey (19), Chubb (19), and LeSean McCoy in 2016.

There are a couple plays I disagree with him especially the first one because that is a bad pass. Overall the breakdown does explain a few of the bad plays but also shows some positive stuff that I didn't pick up during the game such as Fields switching the play from pass to the Herbert 50yd run. He's still locked on some reads too long but it's still early in the season.

So wow, a lot to unpack already this year. So starting from the top, this team could easily be 0-3-1 right now and that is how it feels. In 4 weeks, there have been so few bright spots, it is incredible that this team is so how 2-2. I can't tell if there are halftime adjustments or the other team's get conservative and allow the Bears to run the ball more AND the also play more conservative and score less - or the defense is actually playing better in the second half. For the draftniks out there who are y'all watching on Saturdays? I'm guessing we'll land at 15 overall and could be as high as 10th. The top player I want is Jalen Carter DT but he'll be long gone before we draft. The next DT who might still be on the board is Bresee who can also play 3-tech and has the motor we want. He seems to be more 1-gap style vs. 2-gap so might still be around for us. Beyond that I'm not seeing anyone jump out at a position of need. So Allen Robinson is who we thought he was. Has anyone else watch the Rams games? He is literally jogging routes out there and barely blocks the refs. In 4 games, he has 9 receptions and 95 yards and is on pace for 38 receptions and 400 yds receiving. I am sure it will go up but not that much. He will probably end up with a season similar to last season's loaf-a-thon. The sad part is he would lead the Bears in receptions! That is how bad the passing attack has been. Things will only be tougher on Fields in the passing game and without Montgomery this week we'll struggle again to get the tough yards (3rd and short) where Herbert struggles. Now that we all know, let's fix it. The great rebuild is what we thought it would be. Painful. While I'm good with the pain, I'm not good with how it's being dispensed. I get the feeling that Poles and Eberflus are using this season to evaluate Fields instead of develop him. That being said, they are probably trying to see what he's good and bad at, so they can put the appropriate talent around him to succeed. After the TNF clown show, the Bears are currently picking 6th. Due to the SoS, pretty much any 2-3 team will hop in front of the Bears with a loss this weekend (10 teams), and no 1-4 team that wins will drop past the Bears. With 3 games that have 2-3 teams playing against each other, this week's current draft pick slot range will be 9th-13th with the potential to have as many as 9 teams tied at 2-4. This one could be another stinker. NE is actually the top defense the Bears will have faced yet. Then next week, the Bears get a better defense to play against in DAL. So Fields may be out or injured by Week 9 unless they fix this O-Line and protection. GB is 3-4 lol. This has been a great season for the Packers losing and looking like crap. Now a loss to Washington. I wonder if Rodgers will get any crap? He had 146 yds passing before the garage time prevent defense allowed 50 yds passing. His 2 TDs were to a RB, so technically going into the last drive he had 93 passing yds to WRs and TEs and ended with 141 yds passing to non-RBs. He had 4 more passing yards than Fields, but Fields had 88 rushing yards to his 0. Where is the media outrage? GB's last 5 games, 3 straight losses, a 3 pt win against NE, and a 2 pt win against TB.
